The Penthouse Villa is a part of Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina. As you walk into this two story, one bedroom, two full baths, you will be amazed with the breathtaking views of the white powered beach, aqua blue water looking towards St. John and the British Virgin Islands off in the distance. This beautiful updated Penthouse Villa was fully remodeled winter 2013 and reflects the comfort and style of a 5 star hotel. It is equipped with all the comforts of home. Included are central air conditioning, all new furnishings, two flat screens, satellite TV, a fully equipped kitchen, standard size refrigerator with ice maker, full size electric cook top, microwave convection oven, and everything else you need to prepare a casual meal or your favorite frozen drinks to enjoy out on one of the two balconies. Upstairs you will find a spacious king sized master suite with a large full bath with tub and shower. On the main level you will find a queen sized sofa sleeper and a full bath with shower.

No need to worry about activities for the family, everything you need are just steps away. This unit overlooks the beautiful private marina where you will find all your water sports activities, para sailing, off-shore fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skis, charter boats and sail boats providing day trips to St. John, British Virgin Islands, Jost Van Dyke, Tortola, and Virgin Gorda and the baths. The marinas amenities also include new laundry and shower facilities. Families will find it very easy to get around the island, you can choose from an on site car rental, taxi services or the local safaris. About Cathy

I built and run the top lakefront resort at Lake of the Ozarks in MO all summer long. It's 7 days a week for about 100 days straight. I loved taking my winter vacation where it's warm so in 2012 I decided to use my building skills to flip a couple condos in St Thomas. After purchasing them and remodeling, I decided to hold on to them and let others enjoy my little piece of heaven. It worked out so well, I added a small pub in Charlotte Amalie to my collection of businesses. Side Street Pub. When visiting the Islands be sure to stop by Side Street. I am blessed to have the best of both worlds.

I have vacationed here for many years, and decided I needed to be able share that experience. We are currently in a seasonal hospitality business that gives us time to dedicate making this a perfect vacation spot. I chose this property for the views from the balconies that look directly over to St John and it's enjoyable to sit and watch boats coming and going from the Marina.

Great place to stay. Yes I know some of the reviews on Sapphire are rough but... This is where the best beach that can be found. I have traveled throughout the Caribbean and the view here from beach is amazing. You are close to town which is great. The ferry to St John is right in Red Hook only a mile down road. Yes, you do need a car if you want to explore or just hop on a Safari which is also cool. The condo was decorated exceptional with every detail fully equipped kitchen every utensil you would ever need. I would highly recommend this Villa Cathy great person to deal with. Coming back next year can't wait...

My family spent a week (Aug 2014) at the Sapphire Beach Resort, specially in this villa, located in Building F overlooking the marina. The resort is far from a resort as the amenities are extremely limited. The pool location was lovely right next to the sea but the cabana right next to it was totally demolished with barely any warning tape left to surround it. I had to recover a beach ball that rolled past debris and rusty nails. Don’t expect to sit at the bar and dip in the pool with friends here. . The tennis courts had broken nets and sand on the courts and security said it’s not available due to their condition. I believe it was building C, but I’m unsure that had heavy renovation going on, jack hammers and loud equipment running all day right next to the beach volleyball court. Between building F at the marina and the beach near the end of the resort there are walking trails that are bricked, many rusty nails that I had to keep my children from stepping on to reach the beaches. Once past those sections then the beach itself and the surf shop seemed fine. Yes, it is beautiful beaches and water but the experience through the resort was not so beautiful. What the rental management team says about the lack of resort amenities when I spoke to them over the phone. They told me they don’t advertise those amenities so I shouldn't expect it. To me, I disagree as the tenant should have a thorough understanding of what to expect at a place called a resort. In my opinion, this is deception by the rental management company.

The unit appeared to have been renovated tastefully in recent times as most everything seemed in good shape, however there were bug problems.

I had a lot of trouble with large red cockroaches in this villa. 3 different times I saw the bugs, one in the bedroom, one in the kitchen cabinets, one of the balcony. The rental agency would not help me and said that I could pay for pest control and a housekeeper if it made me feel better but to expect bugs and lizards in the Caribbean. Without asking for the photos of the bugs, they were defensive and told me they were just water bugs. However, the bugs were placed in the toilet and sank, never swimming. I have photos.

The rental agency called Coconuts Caribbean Beach Bar at Lake of the Ozarks near St. Louis MO were rude to me about the whole ordeal. I was happy to leave early and find another hotel. I do not recommend this villa unless you're ok with the things I mentioned.

Owner's Response: Dear Future Guests--To set the record straight on the events that took place regarding a guest's stay in August, we received a phone call from a concerned and very excited guest on Tuesday, 3 days into his week long stay about what he described as one (not 3) 2 inch long roach. He requested to have the unit immediately cleaned & sanitized, and that his wife could no longer stay there after seeing the bug. As the owner I personally took the phone call & explained a mid week cleaning service was available to him for an additional cost. I tried to explain to him it was not a roach but in fact a water bug, native to the tropics and completely harmless. Owning the properties and staying there numerous times throughout the year I have never experienced pests in the units, not to mention all the units had been gutted and remodeled in 2013 including new kitchens, baths, furniture, etc.. After the phone conversation ended, I called the bldg mgt company also located in F building, & asked if they would send the pest control contractor to survey the problems & spray for any possible bugs. They arrived shortly thereafter & explained to the guest there was no sign of infestation or signs of pests in the unit. Furthermore the guest had called numerous times prior to voice concerns about anything & everything that he felt was not up to his standards at Sapphire Resort. My office mgr received 3 phones within 2 days from him with his concerns. Sapphire Beach is 1 of the most beautiful areas in St Thomas not to mention the location to activities on the island. It's unfortunate for the guest as he admits he did not research Sapphire Beach Resort & Marina. 8/1-10/30 is low season for the island and is when not only our resort but all resorts complete their remodeling projects. Sapphire Beach Resort & Marina is currently undergoing going a $7 million reno project including new restaurant, pool bar, and exteriors of all buildings & landscaping. We at Sapphire Beach Vacations has spent a lot of time, effort and money in restoring our units to ensure our guests have a most enjoyable stay. We have extremely clean and sanitized units with onsite cleaning service available to everyone. We are always here to answer guests concerns & phone calls. Unfortunately We may have all experienced an unhappy vacationer & no matter what you do, it's never enough. I believe that is the case with this guest. St Thomas is a beautiful island and everyone should experience it.

The Perfect Place

I have been to many places in the Caribbean, but this was the best. Sapphire Beach is a great beach, and the unit I rented could not have been better. Extremely clean and completely updated with everything new as the property manager stated. I knew from the moment I walked in, that I would have no concerns. I already have my time reserved for 2015. Great condo, plenty of space and great people to book with.

Great vacation!

The villa was just perfect. Everything looks brand new and very clean. The villa had everything we needed for a great stay. Anytime we had a question or needed something (for exmaple, additional pillow cases) we got it right away. The beach is awesome and the location is great. This is just 1 miles from Red Hook (walkable). From Red Hook you can shop, there are many restaraunts and bars, and the ferris to St. John or any of the other islands. I don't have anything negative to say; it was a great vacation for my family.
