About the property

3 Bedrooms/1 Bath Sleeps 8! WIFI - Quiet Beach - Dog Friendly!!!

Absolute Beachfront is Literally On The Beach!

The second you go down the stairs you are on sand.

You can wake up to a floor to ceiling view of the ocean and gaze on the exclusive beach - it will almost feel like your own. New granite counter tops and adjoined by glass back splash with soothing tones. Dolphin sightings are common and once in a while people riding Arabian horses. Plenty of beach for you to throw the ball if you should have a dog. The house is only 7 minutes from stores, shops, grocery, restaurants and only 10 minutes from famous Pleasure Pier. You can rent kayaks, bicycles etc, but in your private storage room there are numerous Adirondack chairs for underneath while barbecuing (charcoal), chairs to bring on to the beach, boogie boards and tons of beach toys, fishing rods and kites.

Everything you need is there! Pots, pans, utensils, blender, toaster, dishes, knives, cutting boards, chip/dip set, wine glasses, water glasses etc.

The stairs are solar lit for going up and down the stairs in the evening.

There is a private cabana shower (both hot and cold water) and fireplace for romantic nights. Galveston has beautiful museums, ghost tours, boat and fishing excursions, horseback riding (which you can do on the beach off season) dolphin sighting tours and numerous parades, both themed for adults and children alike.

We provide a gift bag of stuff just to get you comfortable, such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, dish washing soap and other toiletries to make your arrival more comfortable.

You have your personal driveway and can easily hold more than one car - up to four(!), so if you have a boat it should be easy to hold. Because the house is at the end of a cul-de-sac and has absolutely no house to your left - all you see is ocean.

Just minutes away you can rent kayaks, bicycles, paddle boards, jet skis etc.

NOTE: If you should want to bring your furry friend's, that's great! there will be a non-refundable fee per pet of $100 each.I am super dog friendly - there is a doggie door and the balcony is enclosed so your baby's can look at anyone walking by. I'm sorry, we cannot accept cats.

NEW! We now have Google Chromecast at allowing you to stream Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, HBO Go, and more directly from your phone or tablet to the TV!

Please note:

Rates are subject to additional charges including tax, cleaning, linens / insurance.

doggies are welcomed - we just need to know so we can make accommodations for them!!!!

About Susan Burke 949-636-5926

We are the property owners and unlike most property management companies, we truly care about your experience.

We visit the property regularly to make sure that all the little details and addressed and make the welcome bags ourselves.

Why Susan Burke 949-636-5926 chose Galveston

This is one of the most affordable properties that is oceanfront.

There is no obstruction so you see right out into the waves. The house has been extensively refurbished and it is extremely private. You can frequently see dolphins from the house and occasionally Arabian horses. It is only 10 minutes away from Pleasure Pier and 7 minutes away from restaurants and outdoor activities, but in 7 minutes you are back at home with peace and quiet.

NOTE: During peak season (starts May 28th) the house books Monday to Monday and has a full week rental policy.

What makes this house unique

You can watch the sunset in the swing below, or enjoy just sitting with a floor to ceiling view of the ocean on the couch. Two huge sliding glass doors open so you can have the ocean air or you can put on the fireplace which is really romantic. In the morning you literally prop up and see ocean waves.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I have been going to Galveston for years - how did I not know about this place?

My kids went crazy because I dodn't have to get myself together to get everything inot the car and drive - I could just sleep in and they would just run down the stairs and off they go; I didn't have to worry about them at all. Plus I liked that I could make breakfast for everyone and could see the entire ocean. (-:

Spectacular view of Galveston Beach for our anniversary!

From our bed we could sit up, see and hear the tranquil ocean. Our location was great, we could just be minutes from everything. Great shops, restaurants and loved our morning & evening walks on the beach. We were determined to relax and enjoy the views, and we did. Highly recommend this private home in Galveston.. We were there for 7 days, and could easily stayed additional days. Susan was "A1" in my books. She accommodated our requests, very friendly, very informative, with excellent "Customer Service". We are for sure returning to "our" Retreat. Thank you for making our anniversary special, one we enjoyed and will never forget!

Best View on Galveston Island

  • 5 of 5

To wake up in the morning and witness the sunrise over the water is worth more than words can express! The view is spectacular! You sit on the couch in front of the TV and yet the only thing I could watch was the waves crashing onto the beach through the sliding glass doors. I did not want to leave. We will be back Susan. Thank you for everything!

Perfect stay right on the beach

  • 5 of 5

We checked off our 11 year old golden retriever's bucket list item of going to the beach, celebrated my twins' 15th birthday, and recharged the batteries of my son returning to college. The house was right on the beach and everyone had their own bed. The view from the house was beautiful. Susan, the owner, was so friendly and worked with us on arrival/departure times. The neighborhood was quiet and we were able to relax and enjoy each other. Our favorite things to do were walking on the beach, having the Pleasure Pier basically all to ourselves, watching and listening to the ocean from the living room, eating at Fisherman's Wharf, and playing putt putt golf. Galveston in the winter was so much fun. Thank you Susan.

Yellow house, blue ocean, "red"dy to come back

  • 5 of 5

I had to be in Galveston for a conference. I needed a house that would allow me to bring my dog. This house sits right on the ocean. Right on the beach. We took walks on the beach every morning and watching the sunrise over the gulf was perfect. The view is worth a million dollars. We'll come again next year.

Literally on the beach!

  • 4 of 5

Susan is very accommodating & works hard to make sure renters are happy. The home is in need of a few repairs but I am sure that is constant being right on the ocean. The views are spectacular & the walk to the beach takes 2 minutes. It is a few miles from the Sea Wall which is awesome for private walks on the beach. I made some suggestions on updating a few things & Susan was most appreciative & very receptive. Loved waking up to ocean views & eating breakfast with views! BBQ pit allowed us to bbq ourselves downstairs, which was awesome ocean views as well. Our stay was pleasant & someday we will return & must stay here again.

Overpriced for lower quality

  • 3 of 5

I must say it is a great location. Housekeeping could be better. We found a towel and a mans shorts and boxers in the cabana shower. The inside shower wasn't the cleanest. Dishes (all be it, clean) where in the dishwasher for us to unload when we arrived. Bunk beds were not made and when my kids went to climb into bed they found it was just the cover.

No bottle opener or wine bottle opener in kitchen. It stated there were games and cards etc but none found.

View is pretty and beach is clean. Lots of rabbits and mice in the dunes. There are snake signs but we didn't see any, YAY! There were a bunch of large "water" bugs in the beach toy closet and found 1 in the house.

Owner's Response: Dear Amber, I would like to address your concerns as I am hands on and take your quality and happiness very seriously. First I want to say that the maid has been changed. Not to diminish your experience but I am very appreciative as I cannot fix a problem unless I know. I respectfully have to correct you - there is a bottle opener and a wine opener at all times. Perhaps it was in the back of the drawer and you didn't see it? (I have done that myself...) With regards to the dishes (clean) if the maids do the dishes, often times they need to leave before the dishes are done. This is why they were in the washer. Unfortunatley they cannot wait. With regards to the beds (just the kids room) it is very standard for they be un maid. I actually pay extra to make sure that the queens were done. I am so sorry that you decided to hurt my business through your review. I actually picked flowers from my home garden to make sure you had fresh flowers. I am so sorry and I appreciate your input. susan 949-636-5926
