Beautiful village and cozy home
Our young family of four had a great stay in Grenivik. It's a fantastic home base for exploring the North side of the island and the village itself is beautiful and peaceful. The local swimming pool is excellent and there are at least three playgrounds in the little village that our boys enjoyed.
As previous reviews mention, this home is actually the end section of a duplex but we didn't hear our neighbors once. The home is well appointed and very comfortable. The back deck is wonderful for enjoying a drink and soaking up the views. The home owner was very responsive to our inquiries and I felt comfortable knowing that there was someone across the street who we could contact if there was an issue (which there was not!).
I highly recommend both Grenivik and this sweet home for a relaxing stay in North Iceland. Perfect for a couple or a small family!
Comfortable house in lovely little village
Grenivik was wonderful, so peaceful, quiet and pretty. The house was convenient, the beds were comfortable, there was nothing we were lacking. It was convenient to Husavik, Akureyri and Lake Myvatn and other surrounding attractions. Ragnheidur was responsive and pleasant to deal with. I would recommend it and would stay there again.
Amazing dream location
I can't believe a town like this even exists. It's a quiet seaside town that glows in the midnight sun. The home is very neat and clean and has all the basics one needs. There is even a little grocery store and restaurant right at the entrance of the town. Great instructions and amazing stay. I love Grenivík!
This a beautiful cottage (a duplex really) in a small beautiful village. It was appointed beautifully, comfortable beds, lots of kitchen equipment, full living space, great shower in the bathroom. Close drive to both Akureyri and Husavik.
Beautiful home and village
My only complaint is that our stay was not nearly long enough. This house is beautiful and more than enough room for myself, my husband and our two children. Sigga was helpful and very friendly even with our small language barrier. Thank you for letting us stay. We would definitely stay again and recommend to all of our friends.
Really nice place.
We wanted to stay in a small village away from the main tourist locations and Grenivik is a gem. While it is a quiet location, it has all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay, and it offers easy access to Akureyri and all the attractions the North has to offer. Ragnheidur's home is really nice. There were four of us (two couples) and we stayed in three different locations during our vacation to Iceland. We all agree that Ragnheidur's home was our favorite rental, and Grenivik was our favorite place we visited in Iceland. Everyone in the town was so nice including the market owner and restaurant owner and staff.
The town pool was wonderful with a great view of the fjord. We were even able to see the whale's spray as they breathed in the distance. We booked a ride through the local ranch (Polar Hestar) and it was a wonderful experience. We even got to watch the local Grenivik football team win their game; go Magni!
The area is just plain beautiful! The town was just plain great. Ragnheidur was really helpful in providing information on all the amenities and attractions in the area. She was a pleasure to deal with. I really hope I get the opportunity to come back.
