On select nights local musicians perform your favorite music on stage, but the music ends by 10 PM so you can sleep well in your nearby houseboat. Checkout the PH Marina website for live web cams' of the action (you can see the houseboat!) including the stage, to see who is playing. Daily happy hour specials in the bar.
There is plenty to see and do all within walking distance from the marina! Dolphins Plus where you can actually swim with the dolphins, is a major attraction just down the street!
Want to bring your own boat along for day trips? No problem! We'll put you in contact with the the Dock Master and he'll help set you up with a spot in one of their racks or in a slip near the houseboat. He can store your trailer, too.
The houseboat is in a protected part of the marina, but there can be some occasional movement during the day when boats pass by. At night the waters are very calm and some guests even find that a bit of gentle swaying relaxes them and makes for a very restful sleep.

Such a great, unique vacation rental! What better way to experience paradise than staying literally on the water in your own private houseboat!
It's a floating home in paradise! What more can be said! Great for families and friends! Divers welcome!
Just arrived home from probably the best vacation ever - family vacation for 7 of us. From the moment we walked in - smelled great and looked great (even better than the pictures). After a great dinner & cocktails at the Pilot House Marina & Restaurant (service was great too) we spent our first of many relaxing nights on the upper deck, watching the sun set, the lights twinkle and feeling that great ocean breeze while playing cards and enjoying being together. After a quick trip to Publix in the morning, breakfast on the boat, then off to explore. We enjoyed a local beach and John Pennekamp State Park where my granddaughter enjoyed playing in the "sand". The kids (ages 37 down to 24) rented paddle boats & a kayaks - which were delivered right to the boat Dinner on the boat with fresh seafood we purchased from the Fishery right across the way. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of room to be together and plenty of place to have privacy. Gail & Michelle, thank you for answering all our questions, you were great throughout the whole process and we have already recommended you to family & friends!!

Everyone. My husband and I are divers and love Key Largo. The Calypso only made sense. Amazing location and wonderful, spacious and family friendly layout. We brought his father down for a relaxing vacation as well and he stayed with us on the boat. Plenty of privacy, if needed and plenty of room. We even had a few friends come down for a night as well. Still no problems. Fully stocked kitchen. Beautiful decor and accessories. Close to everything!!! Couldn't be happier and will definitely be returning.
5 friends spent 4 nights on the Calypso. We loved it! The 2 bathrooms were perfect, the kitchen worked well for breakfast and snacks, and the beds were comfy -even the sofa bed! The upper deck was so spacious and offered sun or shade and great views of the marina and night sky. It was quiet by 10 pm, with the light sound of music in the background at the Pilot House restaurant. The owners were easy to work with. All in all, a great spot for exploring this area of the Keys for a few days. Do be aware that the steps up to the top deck are narrow and steep, so that might be an issue for some people.
My wife and I and our 5 year old had an awesome time on the Calypso. It's like a floating hotel room. Plenty of space to spread out. Top deck was awesome. The whole marina is gorgeous. Pilot House Restaurant is great. We saw the resident manatees. Had a great lunch across the water at Backyard Cafe (Key Largo Fisheries). Couldn't of had a better experience. Highly recommend! We didn't want to leave!
Our family had an amazing time staying on the Calypso houseboat. The boat had everything we wanted in a rental, clean and spacious, the beds were super comfortable and the kids had their own rooms.
The location (Pilot House Marina) was perfect. There was even a restaurant at the marina that I highly recommend and the bar (Glass Bottom Bar) is right over the water and has glass floors so you can see down into the water.
My most favorite part of the houseboat experience was spending the evening on the roof deck watching the sun set. Several nights we made home cooked meals and just hung out up there as a family taking it all in. Soooooooo perfect!
The kids loved it so much they can't wait to go back!
The Customer service before our trip was excellent. We were a group of eight SCUBA divers with gear. Six teenagers and 2 adults male and female. Accommodations were pleasant and comfortable. Directions on how to access and utilize the boat were clear and concise. We had a much more pleasant stay due to being able to be together and not in separate hotel rooms. The females were also very comfortable with separate rooms. We cooked meals and were never really crowded. We would highly recommend the Calypso and plan on returning again. The description was very accurate in the listing.
The weather was absolutely fabulous. We loved the house boat and found it simply perfect for our needs. LOVED the sun deck, the beds were comfortable, and all the amenities were lovely. Since we were down there for a wedding, we really appreciated having the iron and ironing board available – that was a pleasant surprise. The hair blower arrived while were there, so I placed in bathroom cabinet.
The Marina was very nice and pleasantly quiet, and we had no problems. The food at the Pilot House Marina was great, as well as the Back Yard at the Fishery. Upon arrival, Howie greeted us and had the house boat open, lights on, and AC on. It was great.
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park
The Pilot House (PH) Marina the number #1 rated marina in the Keys. The Pilot House Restaurant and Glass Bottom Bar is a locals' favorite with in/outdoor dining, and tiki bar right in the marina and on the water. With over 30 reinforced glass floor panels there’s room for everyone to view the fish and underwater sea life that thrives in our Caribbean waters. The floor has fish feeding tubes and underwater lighting to entertain everyone as schools of fish dart back and forth.
The dock from the boat leads to the Boardwalk from which you can sign up for scuba and snorkling dive tours from two companies, an underwater tour of a Coral Restoration facility, charter a fishing boat, or walk down the road to swim with the dolphins. The kids can bike to the local town water park, or you can spend the day at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and much more!
