At first, it all seems too lovely to take in. The Apennine mountains surrounding you are so vast and majestic, you try to inhale some of the peace and absorb a portion of the grandeur. Do all things pale compared to such awe-inspiring landscapes? Most do. But not Villa Gabrielli. You’ll find she’s right at home amongst natural beauty. In fact, she adds to it with rustic grace and quiet elegance. And it doesn’t take long before you sense you’re at home, too.
Villa Gabrielli is situated at the foot of the velvety green mountain, Prato Fiorito, a signature point of interest in the area. As you pass through her distinguished gates, you’ll notice that Villa Gabrielli is perfectly placed over Bagni di Lucca, giving you splendid views of the valley below. A romantic setting full of old-world charm, you’ll be thrilled with the villa’s wood-beamed and terra-cotta tiled ceilings, exquisite windows, shutters and doors made from the finest chestnut, and red-brick fireplace. Discover quite tranquility in any of her spacious bedrooms. If exercise is what you need, work out in the villa’s gym space. Create meals to remember on Villa Gabrielli’s built-in barbecue. Chat over candlelight with good company and good food under the wood gazebo built especially for al fresco dining. And let your cares float away as you lounge alongside the 8 x 4m luxury pool with that book you’ve been meaning to read and a fragrant glass of chianti in hand.
While Villa Gabrielli is a serene place to retreat and recharge, you’ll never be at a loss for activity. The difficulty may be deciding whether you’d like to hike through the widely known canyon of Orrido di Botri, have a massage or facial at the Bagni di Lucca spa just 20 minutes down the mountain, or take a day trip to Lucca, Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano or Cinque Terre.
The spectacular mountains surrounding Villa Gabrielli are ideal for adventurous hikers with a hankering for exploration. With a little bit of luck, you may catch a glimpse of wild boar, deer, jack rabbits, squirrels, or the golden eagle said to nest close to where the villa is located. Nearby you’ll find a grocery shop, 2 bars, a pizzeria and bus service. Beautiful in all seasons, Villa Gabrielli also provides the perfect refuge for skiers in the winter months.

Groeten Stephan
My Response
Stephan and family. Thank you so much for being our guests and i am so happy you had a wonderful time. I hope to be able to see you again one day soon. Have a fantastic rest of the summer !!! Kind regards to you and your wonderful families. Gina
We were a party of 8; a mixed bag who all got along famously in this beautiful villa. The location suited us perfectly as we have friends that live close by. But it also made exploring Tuscany easy and convenient. The pool and amenities were great, and the property comfortable.
We had an incredible 7 days at Villa Gabrielli!! There were 9 of us, 4 adults, 3 children, and 2 teenagers. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. It has all the amenities you would want and then more. Private fenced garden with inground pool, plenty of space for everyone, the rooms are very well appointed, the same for the living room and the kitchen. The house doesn't have air conditioning but you don't need it at all. We slept with some of the windows open (they have screens) and never felt cold or hot, just perfect. The outdoor area has a gazebo with table and chairs, a barbecue pit, swings, pool chairs, patio furniture, and an outdoor eating area off the kitchen for dining all fresco with a view of the Tuscan mountains, we took full advantage of everything. The house is very near Bagni di Lucca (10 minutes down the hill to town) which we loved. Bagni has everything you need, coffee shops, supermarket, bank, and great restaurants (ask Gina). People were very nice and the town is beautiful. And then there's Gina, our host, she could no be a more excellent host, it's honestly like having a longtime friend help you. She made everything easy and enjoyable. We arrived late at night so when we got to the house our kitchen and fridge were stocked with everything we needed or want, she made sure our time at Villa Gabrielli was something we would remember forever, and we will!! Gina even arranged to have a cake delivered to the house for my son's 6th birthday, Power Rangers and all:)
The house is about 45 minutes to Lucca, 1 hour to Pisa, 1 1/2 hours to Florence, and 1 1/2 to Cique Terre, so we did day trips which were perfect, we actually spent as much time in the house as we did sightseeing, that's how much we loved it. I hope you have the chance to stay at Villa Gabrielli, it will be one of the best vacations you'll ever have!
Beautiful home and every aspect of our stay was terrific. Can't wait to come back again.
Villa Gabrielli is set high on a hill above the magical town of Bagni Di Lucca. I must say our initial drive up the mountain to find the villa was a little worrying as we had a large van and the road is quite narrow but once we found the villa we feel in love with it and the drive didn't seem to worry us anymore. We met with Alessandro the owner as Gina who organised our booking was away at the time, everything was perfect, Alessandro is lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We used the villa as our base and drove to so many places around Tuscany, we went to Siena, Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Cinque Terre. The last day we spent at the Villa enjoying the amazing view whilst the kids swam in the pool. The Villa was perfect for our family of 5 plus one set of grandparents. There is so much room on the grounds for kids to run around and the property is very safe as its fenced and there is a secure gate. We would highly recommend this Villa, Gina was so helpful, I emailed her with so many questions and she always responded so promptly. Bagni Di Lucca is one of my favourite little towns in Italy, a must to go visit.
Our vacation week at Villa Gabrielli was beautiful. Make sure you arrive in daylight as it is very difficult to find. God bless Gina, she came and found us and escorted us to the house at 10 pm the day we arrived. The house was fabulous, very well appointed with all the comforts of home and a beautiful pool to cool down in after longs hot days of sightseeing. The location, which is in the mountains 45 minutes north of Lucca, was so gorgeous and a great location to do many day trips. We went to Cinque Terra, Florence, Lucca and Pisa. Bagni di Lucca is a great little town, good restaurants, fun shopping and the girls spent a great day at the spa in town.
We stayed for 1 week in July 2013 at Villa Gabriella. They were 9 of us in the party: 4 adults, 2 young adults, and 3 teenagers. Our stay was amazing. There was plenty of space for all of us to be together or sneak off and have some quiet time. The setting is very picturesque and quiet. The home is only two years old so it has the charm of an old Italian villa but the conveniences of a new home. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished and there are 3 bedrooms up with queen size beds and 2 bedrooms down with 1 queen bed and a pull-out couch. There is one full bath upstairs and two full baths down. The main floor is open concept with a generous kitchen, dining room and family room. There are many places to sit outside and all of the windows have screens and those lovely Italian shutters to keep the sun out and the fresh air in. No air conditioning required as the mountain location is 10 degrees cooler than the cities which were about 36 degrees (over 100F) when we visited. We took several day trips from the villa including Florence, Pisa and Lucca (my favourite). There are a few restaurants in town and one that does speak English and the food was excellent. Bagni di Lucca is very small but had a grocery store (Conad) with everything we needed. Some of the more adventurous in our party also did a quad trip just up the road and the reviews of the tour and sights were all excellent. I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had with Gina and Villa Gabrielli. I highly recommend the villa for the "particular" traveler as the house was beautiful inside and out, well-kept by a gardener and a pool service and was very clean. Pool towels were also provided and the villa is gated for extra security (not that it is needed). I look forward to one day visiting Villa Gabrielli again.
