Lovely apartment on lower level of 1870's home. Renovated to highest standards. 4 car parking and only a few steps into your own private entrance. Large eat in kitchen, separate dining room and living room with bay window. The apartment is in a quiet older part of town. It is only a block from rail and buses. Enjoy walking to the downtown market on the weekends or shopping close by. The Bruce Trail is close by. For road riding or mountain biking, this is the perfect location. Horse back riding, arts, festivals.
My late wife (Iris) and I purchased this nice duplex back in 2001. The lower apartment was renovated in 2011 to make it into a vacation destination. Iris passed away in 2012 and I have dedicated the apartment to her, Iris's place. I opened the vacation home in Dec.2012. In 2014, I remarried, and since then, Mary Lynn and I have enjoyed meeting many guests from around the world. We both hope to see you soon.
The views from each window and the walkways, all overlook the award winning gardens. Our home has been on the garden tour also. Enjoy sitting on the Muskoka chairs while having an afternoon tea or your morning breakfast. There is a small backyard garden and patio for your own use. This is a very quiet neighborhood and is within walking distance to the train and the old part of town.
This apartment is spotlessly clean and comfortable, well decorated and set in a quiet neighbourhood but close to the main town areas. The owners live above and are very welcoming and willing to give advice about the area and things to do. It is quite a way out of Toronto centre but only about 10km from the start of the urban sprawl so not bad if you want to avoid being in the city.
A nice touch that I have not often encountered is the provision of tea, coffee, bottled water, washing detergent and dishwasher tablets, which saves bringing your own or having to buy far more than you need whilst travelling. The surrounding gardens (award winning) are lovingly tended. The small rear garden is a nice place to have breakfast but only gets the sun for a short time in the morning. A selection of DVD's and a Netflix account sorts out the evening entertainment.
As stated in the description it is near the GO train station so there is some train noise morning and evening but it is only a minor disturbance.
We stayed for two weeks at Iris' Place and loved everything about it. The property was impeccably maintained, the living space was more than enough for us and our two teenage daughters and the warm hospitality from Allen and Mary Lynn was above and beyond our expectations. The back garden was beautiful and private, we enjoyed relaxing with a good book every afternoon and eating outside almost every evening. In addition, we were within walking distance to most amenities and beautiful trails. This property met our needs from all aspects.
Our little family had the pleasure of staying at Iris' Place from February until April 2016. We needed a place to live as a family while our home was being repaired.
The living space is beautifully and tastefully decorated and we immediately felt at ease during an otherwise stressful time.
The grounds around the house are beautifully landscaped and the neighbours are all very friendly. All errands are within a short driving distace , and the Superstore is even within walking distance for those so inclined.
From the moment we arrived, Allen & Mary Lynn made us feel welcome and at home. All the comforts of home were provided to us and if we required anything it was provided with a smile.
Thank you Allen and Mary Lynn for opening up your beautiful home. We cannot say enough nice things about Iris' place and Allen & Mary Lynn.

We stayed here over the Christmas holidays waiting for our new home to be finished in Georgetown. Great location and Allen and Mary Lynn are very attentive to all our needs during the Christmas holidays. Would highly recommend if you are staying in Halton Hills.
We had booked this apartment for about a week and a half in October as we were traveling to Georgetown for a wedding and had a lot of family staying with Luther family members and didn't want to take over a family members house with our 2 year old, her toys and her sleeping habits! Allen was more then accomadating as we had people arriving and departing at different times and had local family members coming to visit! It was like a home away from home and just perfect for our crazy family!! Lol!! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone looking for a nice quite place to call your own (it really felt like that even if it wasn't our own) and we will defiantly be staying again when we visit that area again.
While we waited for our new home to be built, iris's place quickly became our second home. Steps away from the Go station and short walk to downtown Georgetown for great shopping and restaurants. The house was so clean and provided instant comfort. Allan and Mary Lynn were very welcoming and helpful and it was so nice to have all the amenities already provided for you (laundry soap, dish soap, spices etc.) made life so easy. Highly recommend!!!
Canada's wonderland, Toronto, Jazz festivals, so much to do, check out Ontario, Yours to Discover for the Toronto area and Halton Hills etc.
