Welcome to The Roost, a very private vacation home that captures the Palm Springs vibe of yesteryear - reinterpreted for the way we live today. This is a modern take on the classic Spanish-style hacienda where the emphasis is on relaxed, easy living in the sunshine. Old world charm meets modern comfort and livable luxury. This is the perfect escape for those who want to enjoy life under the radar in a comfortable, laid back atmosphere. The Roost is glamorously nostalgic and very “next century” all at the same time.
The property owners thought of everything when creating this vacation villa: total privacy, beautiful landscaping, high speed wifi service, three flat screen televisions, two zone climate control, updated kitchen and baths, an oversized interior dining room, billiard room with fireplace and fabulous outdoor spaces with a heated inground pool, spa, fire feature, shaded dining pavilion, a second patio eating area with barbecue plus an outdoor living room. The owners often stay at this property themselves, so you can be sure it is well-maintained, very clean and well-stocked.
ABOUT THE LOCATION
This sprawling ranch style home sits on a very private residential lot in the Tahquitz River Estates neighborhood. Driving is completely optional since you will be in walking distance to the famed Palm Canyon Drive as it cuts through South Palm Springs (SOPS) with its fine dining, night spots, grocery stores, coffee houses and burger joints. You’ll be less than a quarter mile from two stops for The Buzz, the city’s free Trolley Service that whisks you all around town including the Uptown Design District and through the heart of Downtown. Palm Springs is at your fingertips if you ever decide to leave the house.
THE LIVING SPACES
Webster’s Dictionary defines a Roost to mean a temporary place to relax and congregate. The owners kept that in mind when they designed this desert escape to feel like a mini-resort. The Roost is all about total relaxation, connecting with your travel mates, and unwinding in the desert sunshine. The property has been space-planned for hanging with the entire group but you’ll also find quiet areas that are perfect for getting some alone time curled up with a good book.
The kitchen is adjacent to the oversized formal dining room and also opens up to the outdoor barbecue and dining area. The living room has a flat screen television, ample seating and direct access to the pool yard. There is also a club room with a billiard table and a fireplace. The sprawling layout makes this home feel much larger than it is - making it perfect for multi-generational groups. Plenty of space for everyone.
THE SLEEPING QUARTERS
One of the best parts about this home is that the three bedrooms have been split for complete privacy. The two king bedrooms have flat screen televisions, ample storage and direct pool access. One has its own ensuite bath, while the other shares a hall bath with the third bedroom.
THE OUTDOOR SPACES
The outdoor courtyards have been completely walled for privacy and surrounded by mature desert plantings. You’ll find gorgeous mountain views, palm trees swaying in the breeze, a free-form heated pool, a spa and both shaded and sundrenched areas.
