The ultimate in recycling and repurposing a space! When Gray moved his office home in order to simplify and downsize, Gray and Heather decided to 'repurpose' the office into an apartment, added a shower and a few 'tweaks' in the floor plan to make a comfortable, relaxing, eco-friendly space for the weekend or corporate traveler. We also own Windy Pointe on vrbo and enjoy travel, sailing and spending time with family and friends. We live in Salisbury.
Heather St.Aubin-Stout purchased this apartment in 2005
We love old cities and Salisbury is one of the best. Comfortable space to relax or celebrate while in town for reunions, weddings, site seeing, or business- a great alternative to a hotel. Competitively priced with a partial kitchen for breakfast or microwave meals.
We love to walk to all the restaurants, shops, museums and theaters in the downtown district. Use public transit to visit the Spencer Shops & Transportation museum. Spend a weekend not having to get in your car, walk to dinner & a play. Take a trolley tour around town or the ghost walk!
Overall great experience! The owner was quick to respond and answered questions in a timely manner.
Trains were quite loud and frequent at night, but other than that the stay was wonderful.
The condo was ideal for our weekend in Salisbury; steps from restaurants and nightlife and perfectly situated for exploring the charming shops on Main Street. The space was larger than I'd expected with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. Parking was easy and Heather was wonderful to work with!
This is my 4th visit to the Salisbury area for fun and every other time I've stayed at one of the myriad chain motels. Well, I was hoping for something different closer to the delightful downtown area and off the freeway and while googling b&b's came across this. This was actually my first time using VRBO and what a simple, trouble free, and delightful experience. The property owner, Heather, was easy to communicate with and everything was done via text or the app. In fact we never spoke or even met (which I do feel a little bad about since I wanted to thank her). She told me how to access the property, where to park, and the simple rules.
The apartment was spacious and well appointed with tall ceilings, big windows and an airy, modern, and welcoming feel. I was traveling with a friend and normally we each get our own hotel room for privacy. At Heather's rates, it was actually cheaper to split this apartment and each have our own room than it would have been if we'd each gotten a room at even a mid range motel.
This property is a great value and I highly recommend it if you're in the area on business or pleasure.
The only thing to be aware of is that while it has counter space and and a kitchen alcove there are no kitchen appliances, so if you're the kind who likes to cook when on an extended stay this isn't the place (not an issue for us but it might be for others).
I will most certainly try to book this again next time I'm visiting the area.
I live in the same buidling and it was great to have my family stay in Alta. They completely enjoyed the cleanliness and modern decor of the unit. It's a great downtown place to stay that you can walk to many restaurants.
Great location in downtown Salisbury. Comfortable bed n very clean. Heather is very good with communicating any questions we had. Thanks see you soon!
