Morrisville House Rental Photos and Description

Log Home, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths with Awesome Mountain Views

Vermont is all about mountains, outdoor life and peaceful, beautiful surroundings. Upon arrival you will find it difficult to leave this one-of-a-kind four bedroom log home in paradise. It has all the ambiance you could wish for....warm and charming with spectacular views and large private spring-fed swimming pond with dock and raft for diving or sunbathing.

This very comfortable, family and pet-friendly home has a large open floor plan with cathedral ceilings in both living room and dining room, massive two-sided stone fireplace, unique 12-person custom pine table in dining area, and spacious loft with additional TV/DVD for the kids. Enjoy mountain views from every room in the house including large picture windows in living, dining and master bedroom. This house comfortably sleeps a maximum of 8 people in four bedrooms; portable beds are available for two additional people at an additional cost of $50 per person per night.

During the summer find yourself relaxing in our adirondack chairs on the expansive lawn or large farmers porch overlooking the large serene spring-fed swimming pond, surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, spectacular mountain views and sunsets. Gaze into the sky and you will see soaring gliders from nearby Stowe airport, hot air balloons or migrating Canadian geese. In winter, step outside with your snowshoes or cross-country skis onto local trails or enjoy watching your children playing or sledding in the snow. And of course, you can also enjoy some of the best skiing in the East just 20 minutes away at the Mt. Mansfield ski resort, 45 minutes to Jay Peak and 55 minutes to Sugarbush.

Take a short drive into Stowe Village and indulge yourself in shopping, fine dining and world-class spa facilities. Or travel up the Mountain Road to visit Mt. Mansfield and the new $400 million resort at Spruce Speak at Stowe and experience the new hotel, spa, restaurants and shops, base lodge, 18-hole golf course, and much more. Also visit the newest exciting addition to the community, the recently opened Performing Arts Center at Spruce Peak . In the summer, enjoy many local activities such as the Hot Air Balloon Festival in July, summer concerts, antique car shows and farmer's market.

We know that your stay here will be fun, relaxing and memorable for your entire family and friends and you will want to return again to this lovely property in paradise.

About Sandy Farmer

My husband Peter and I grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts. He has always had roots in Vermont, since he and most of his family were born in the Stowe area. In fact his father was on the original crew that built and operated the first ski trails and lifts at Mt. Mansfield. Peter spent many summers and winters in Vermont as a child and eventually became a professional free-style skier in the 70's. Because of his love for Vermont and family connection, he built our wonderful log home on this beautiful property with breath-taking views.

I also had moved to Warren, Vermont in the late 70's where I owned a home with a beautiful horse farm for 15 years. Coincidentally, after many years Peter and I re-met in Stowe during a weekend visit. I later relocated to Massachusetts, and we eventually married with a lovely outdoor wedding at our Vermont home.

Needless to say, Vermont still has a special meaning to the both of us, and we are always reminded of how romantic the area is and how we fell in love everytime we are there!

We had a great time!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first "Home Away" experience and it was just great! The entire process was made easy by Home Away and the property owner. The property and house exceeded our expectations. The house is clean, accommodating and well maintained. Photographs don't do justice to the yard, pond, house and panoramic mountain views. Our granddaughters loved canoeing and chasing frogs in the pond. Daily visitors to the yard included herons, ducks, deer and turkeys. The house is conveniently located just a mile from the village of Morrisville, convenient shopping, Lake Elmore State Park and just a short ride to Stowe and Waterbury attractions. Lake Elmore State Park is just 3.5 miles away and provides beautiful scenery and very affordable canoe and kayak rentals. Not a bad meal the entire week. We particularly enjoyed The Whip and Idle Time restaurants in Stowe and Avard's in Waterbury. I would highly recommend a week or more at this property.

Stunning Property and Views

  • 5 of 5

We had 3 couples and 2 single guys in our party and we used the house as a central point for daily motorcycle trips. We came up from NY and NJ and our group was between 45 - 53 years old. This property was outstanding in terms of views, functionality, cleanliness and comfort. There were several days when we didnt even get on the motorcycles but just stayed at the house and enjoyed the pond and the views. Sunsets were beautiful and a little different every night. some nights clouds, some fog, some clear.

We did day trips on the bikes to Mt Washington, NH, northern VT, The Adirondacks in NY and Lake Champlain. the property was central to all of these.

Beds were comfortable, grill worked fine, kitchen had everything we needed and the dining room table was awesome.

Being kids at heart, we had frog catching contests almost daily ... no frogs were hurt during this ...

I highly recommend this property during any season. Stowe and Smugglers Notch were within 15 - 20 minutes.

Wow! Just Wow!

  • 5 of 5

First I would like to say that many times pictures can be a bit deceiving... Not this place the pictures are mediocre to what we arrived at. We called it our slice of heaven. I've never been on a vacation where I didn't want a break from cooking dinner.... I didn't want to leave this house for dinner. The house is so well equipped I didn't need to unpack half of our supplies.

Our dog and kids had a great time chasing the frogs (frogs are super happy we left!). Ducks greeted us every morning and evening. The fire pit and fire place were so pretty at night! The grounds are beautiful! and Oh my the sunset over the mountains at night was my husband's and mine go to entertainment every evening.

Beds were super comfy. As with the entire layout of the house...But my favorite was swimming in the fresh pond. There was also a canoe that my kids loved going on the pond with. We found it far enough away from the town but close enough to get to everything we needed.

Think luxurious log cabin with all the amenities!

We definitely want to go back!

Thank you Farmers! This was voted the prettiest vacation we've taken as a family and we've been to many locations

Great in the winter, would love to come back in the summer!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed with several friends from college for a weekend and skied at Stowe. We had a great time! Sandy was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. She also provided thorough information about the house and area. The house was spacious and had a nice open layout on the first floor so everyone could eat and relax together.

Our only suggestions- perhaps a new grill, we ended up not using it because not all of it lit and it was quite dirty.

Also maybe some salt in the winter months for the front steps-they were particularly icy while we were there.

Otherwise the house was well equipped with kitchen supplies, linens, and fire wood. Great fireplace and dining table, great views, private.

Gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! This house offered lovely views. We were very comfortable in all of our bedrooms and enjoyed meals around the large kitchen table. The home was about 20 minutes from Stowe and 20-40 minutes from most of our activities. We will surely return to this home if we visit Stowe Vermont again.

Amazing setting

  • 5 of 5

Our family (2 children aged 9 and 7) had a lovely holiday in this house. The garden and views are beautiful. We loved the swimming pond. The house is comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked. My only complaint was the dishwasher didn't work well.

The location of the house is good. There is lots to keep families occupied in Stowe and the surrounding area.
