This property is located with an adjoining 60 acres of land that you will have total access to during your stay. The back part of the 60 acres overlooks Lake Cumberland which is one of the largest lakes in the country. There is a service road that you can use to walk down to the lake. Within the gated area you may ride ATV's and bicycles or just take a nice walk. We frequently see deer and wild turkey on the property. The property is also located along the Sandhill Crane migration path. This past November we saw hundreds of them fly overhead and several even landed in the lake. There is a dairy farm across the street and we like to watch the dairy cows come in and out of the field during the day. Year-round you will see baby cows in the fields around the cabin.
We have added a very nice pontoon to our amenities and this boat is available for our guests to rent. Our property manager can even be hired to drive the boat for you if you just want a scenic cruise!
A geocache trail has also been set up on our property and will give the kids a fun challenge to find all 16 markers and solve the jumble at the end.

Alligator II Marina is only about a half mile away by water but to drive there it takes about 15 minutes.
We have just added our own pontoon boat and it will be available to our guests to rent. The pontoon is kept in a slip at Alligator 2 marina.
My name is Kelly and I am one of the developer/owners of this property. I have been visiting Lake Cumberland since I was a small boy and had always wanted a place near the lake. Someday I hope I can make this property my full time residence.
I bought this land with the intent to develop it into a sub division but when the corps of Engineers lowered the water levels I decided to wait. Therefore you are getting a rare opportunity to have exclusive use of an entire sub division as your adult playground.
I have to say after spending time there with family and friends I am having second thoughts about ever developing it because we have so much fun just enjoying the property in its natural state.
Owner / Property Manager purchased this cabin in 2006
This is a very unique property with very unique circumstances. The logs used to build the home are native to the site. This is truly a custom home. It is located on a quiet road and we have spent weekends there and only seen 1 or 2 cars pass the house. It is situated between two large developments that are also waiting until the lake returns to normal before they are fully developed. The only buildings you see from the Cabin are the Dairy Barn and Silo more than half a mile away. This property makes a great place to visit if you want some peace and quiet and really get a connection to nature or it can be a place to be very active. If you are a sportsman and like to fish this property makes a perfect place to stay and get to the marinas for a day on the lake fishing with your own boat or charter a guide service. Several striper guides use Alligator 2 marina as there home marina. We have just added a pontoon rental for our guests that you can use to fish from or pull a tube or skier. If you don't have a lot of experience driving a boat our property manager will be happy to drive the boat for you and let you relax.
A geocache trail was added in the spring with 16 GPS points to find. Each location has a letter you find and if you find all 16 and solve the jumble then you win a prize.
You can tour the atv trails by visiting http://youtu.be/qOxNDnfMXdU.
If you are like us and feeling rushed and frantic most of the time, this log home property will provide for instant relaxation. Instead of traffic noise and light pollution you will look into clear star filled skies with the sounds of birds, frogs, peaceful content dairy cows and rustle of leaves blowing in the wind. You can enjoy long peaceful walks or just sit on the comfy porch swing letting yours cares slip away. This is the perfect property for everyone. There is plenty to do for both adults and children or it is perfect for a quiet romantic getaway.
The cabin is everything you need to get away and enjoy a quiet rural setting. We had a extended family gathering of 9, with a mix of kids and adults. The kitchen had everything needed to cook for everyone and a gas grill to serve up some burgers for all. We spent many hours enjoying the ping pong table in the basement, challenging each other to competitive games. We spent several nights sitting outside by the fire ring enjoying each others company, listening to the sounds of crickets and tree frogs. We rented 2 ATVs and spent the entire day, yes...ALL DAY, riding the ATVs around the 60 acres of trails. We also used the pontoon boat and had a blast boating on the Cumberland River. We fished, swam and had a blast using the tube provided with the boat. Both the owner and the property manager are great people and were quick to respond to any questions we had. I highly recommend this property!
You can't go wrong staying here. The house is beautiful inside and out. The location is perfect for a complete getaway.
Our ladies group tries to find a new place to go for our annual retreat. This year we were extremely impressed. In the 10 years we've been taking our trips, this is the first time anyone came to check on us to make sure we knew where things were and how things worked. And it's the first time we were contacted by the owner to make sure we were completely satisfied before we were charged. After some of the places we stayed, that was very important. There was no way on earth we couldn't be satisfied.
Please, if you're looking for some place to stay in the Russell Springs area, stay here.
Our trip involved 3 days of crappy weather so fishing and 4 wheeling was not possible. HOWEVER, this forced us to take advantage of everything the cabin had to offer, i.e. fireplace, games, awesome home theater.
The 4th day the weather was beautiful which allowed us the opportunity to ride the 4 wheelers. We all had a great time overall, to spite the weather. Would definitely visit again.
Wonderful owner and kick but property manager!!! Thanks again Kelly and Tim
Overall our trip to the cabin was very enjoyable. We loved renting the atvs, and the kids had a blast riding their dirt bikes on the property. The kids also loved the ping pong table and the big screen in the basement. It is a very secluded and quiet atmosphere. We enjoyed the fire pit one evening as well. There is a great view of the lake from the property. However, if you want time at the lake, I would recommend the pontoon rental. It is not easy to walk to the lake from the cabin. It took us closer to 20-25 minutes to get to the marina to get the boat. Kelly was always quick to respond and the property manager arrived quickly after we called him to get the atvs out for us. We would definitely consider another vacation here.
Beautiful cabin. Very clean and well stocked. Owner was very prompt in all communications and property manager was quick to respond. Location is remote; but not difficult to find. Come prepared with your groceries/drinks so you can enjoy the peaceful setting. Stores are not close - especially when you don't know the country roads like a local. Gas grill, firepits, ATVs & pontoon made this a vacation to remember.
Woodscape Cove Cabin was the perfect getaway for my family during our spring break. We rented the ATVs for our entire stay and enjoyed them every day! I was traveling with my two boys (age 15 and 12) and my godson (14). When we weren't outside on the ATVs or around the fire, we enjoyed the ping pong table and movie screen. We also took two kayaks and enjoyed some time on the lake. Being able to bring our little furry family member Maggie really made this an extra special vacation. My sister who is dealing with a recent cancer diagnosis and her husband drove down to spend a night with us. They too loved the cabin and relaxing atmosphere. Riding the ATVs to the back of the property to watch the sunset is a MUST! Thank you Kelly and Tim for a wonderful week. We will definitely be back!

Cumberland Falls is a short drive from the property (about an hour) and is worth a trip to see.
Somersplash is a very nice water park located in Somerset and is a great place to take the kids for a day.
Mammoth cave is 1hour and 30 minutes drive from the property and is the most visited attraction in Ky.
The entire Bourbon trail is within 2 hours drive of the property.
For you country music lovers Renfro Valley is a must and is only 50 minutes drive from the property.
Kentucky's two largest cities (Louisville and Lexington) are only 1.5 hours drive from the cabin.
Most of the lakes large marinas are within a 45 minute drive of the cabin and Alligator 2 marina is exactly 14 minutes away by car. It is a full service marina with boat rentals available and several fishing guide services located there.
