About Pamela Jones

We have lived in the Newburyport area for over 25 years and enjoyed this home for 5 of those years. When we moved from it we turned it into a vacation rental. We own and rent out a beach house on Plum Island and decided to see if there was an interest in people renting this beautiful Victorian in Newburyport. There is! We now enjoy providing a home away from home for visitors.

Pamela Jones purchased this house in 2005

Why Pamela Jones chose Merrimack Valley & Essex County

Our home provides a wonderful place to stay for various reasons you may be visiting the area. We have had a vast range of guests. Wedding parties or guests, vacationers that want the option of the beach without the sand and traffic, business travelers that enjoy a home stay instead of a hotel, people gathering for family reunions, families needing a home while theirs are being renovated, families wanting their children attending the Newburyport schools.

What makes this house unique

Our guests have enjoyed this home in particular because of the large dining table, number of real beds, books and games, fabulous location, large master bedroom, basketball hoop, relaxing in the yard, sunny porch, gardens, most importantly, customer service. Because we live in the area, we do our best to quickly resolve any issues that may arise.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your house is wonderful, and was such a welcome respite from our business meetings! The neighbors were friendly, the board games were amazing - and the fridge has a light sensor! We look forward to returning to Merrimack College, to Newburyport, and here!

A wonderful house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This pretty house is spacious, warm, comfortable and well equipped. There were 9 of us staying and there was plenty of hot water for showers etc/ soft, fluffy towels and plenty of bathroom, kitchen and laundry products which was really helpful. Newburyport is a lovely small town with plenty of decent restaurants and shops and ideally situated for access to the coast, mountains, lakes, interesting towns, pretty villages and Boston and all they have to offer.

Parking was easy; 2 cars on driveway and plenty of safe, on road parking.

Pam was very helpful and friendly and organising the booking was quick and easy. If there had been a need for help during our stay, I know it would have been available. Thanks to Pam for this.

Everyone loved the house so that is further recommendation.

Our best rental ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 8 and have been doing summer rentals thru this site for 14 years. This home was the best by far! Pam's beautifully appointed kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare and cook our nightly dinners and cook outs. I brought nothing but the food we ate. Cleaning supplies, bathroom supplies, towels, beach towels all provided. The dining room was large enough for our family game nights and elegant enough for company dinner with easy to care for table linens . We had plenty of room in the large home to stretch out and relax after a day at the beach. Everyone had their own bed, with beautiful linens provided ( That is a huge plus!!) along with plenty of room for storage AND no fighting over bathrooms with 3 in the house . My 83 year old mother claimed the day bed on the sunny side porch for her reading room. The pictures definitely do not do this home justice. The neighborhood is quiet, the down town area is charming with great restaurants (Michaels was our favorite) and the beaches were 10 minutes away (Salisbury was the best) . We explored nearby Gloucester (Hammond Castle is a must!), Rockport (quaint seaside shopping area) MA and Portsmouth NH during the day and downtown, historic, Newburyport after dinner. Over the years we have only rented the same home twice but this home is a keeper for future Frazier family vacations !

Beautiful 3 Story Yellow House

  • 4 of 5

We attended my nephews wedding in Newburyport, in early October 2015, and needed a house that could accommodate a large group. We loved the location of this house. It was on a quiet residential street with both driveway and street front parking. There were enough bedrooms to accommodate 11 adults comfortably. The new air conditioners (wall mounted in separate zones) kept everyone happy. It was in the upper 80"s the day we arrived. We loved the large dining room separate from the kitchen. We were able to gather everyone around the table for meals and games. The living room also was comfortable and provided enough seating. The kitchen was well equipped and a washer/dryer was available for use. I would give this house a 5 star rating except for a couple of items that could be easily taken care of. First the master bedroom bed was EXTREMELY squeaky. Not sure if it was the springs in the mattress or the actual bed. I would strongly advise replacing this. Also we noticed there was a slight gap between double front doors which whistled when the wind was blowing just right. and may account for the mouse droppings we found on many dishes in the kitchen cupboards. I found the owner to be always available when I called and she made our arrival and departure very simple and easy. I would highly recommend staying at this house and we loved our visit to Newburyport.

Gamechanger for our family!

  • 5 of 5

Pam helped us out of a tough situation when the house we were supposed to rent had no wifi which my husband and I needed to work while we were in Nbpt. She responded to my request within minutes and met us at the house 30 minutes later. The house was a godsend - working wifi and cable tv with Chromecast, plenty of bedrooms to separate teenage boys for privacy, 3 bathrooms, a great kitchen and a washer and dryer. The basketball hoop was a huge bonus. The location is great and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. We will definitely rent this house again.

A Christmas Welcome

  • 5 of 5

What a great location to hold a family gathering at the holidays-- or anytime! The house was warm and welcoming, with additional special touches, including a decorated Christmas Tree so that all we had to do was enjoy each other's company. The owner was so thoughtful and helpful with every question and concern that we had. Fabulous customer service, great house, wonderful location... what more can I say?

Business meetings were made lots of fun

  • 5 of 5

i operate an international business and I've used this home twice to host visitors from the Philippines for week long stays. The house worked great for four guests. Everyone had lots of room and privacy. And, we enjoyed the quaint ambiance to host in-house meetings, family style meals and a laid back summer lifestyle in Newburyport. We'll be back next year. Thanks Pam for being so attentive to my groups.
