|Minimum Stay||3 - 5 nights|
Take a trip back in time when you stay in our beautifully restored 1890's Victorian era home with lovely mountain views. It has been completely restored with all the modern-day amenities but retains all of the old-world charm to include high ceilings, original woodwork, crown molding, ornate hand-carved fireplace mantle, stained glass and bay windows, french doors and beautiful art-deco light fixtures.
We have tastefully furnished the house and included everything that anyone could need to feel right at home. The beautiful new kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with spices, basic food items, and condiments. Gorgeous, original hard-wood floors throughout the house make for a very clean environment. The property includes a detached, oversized two-car garage and a wonderful fully-fenced yard and patio area with a BBQ grill ready for your use.
This is a unique home in the core of the city sitting on 2/3's of an acre, allowing for lots of privacy. None of our living space is in the basement....all rooms are bright and cheerful. We have central air conditioning and also have dual hot-water tanks to provide ample hot water for large groups.
We are centrally located within two miles of our vibrant downtown area. We are one mile north of Colorado College, and only four blocks north of Penrose Hospital. Lincoln Center, a fabulous renovated 70-year-old former grade school is just around the corner. It is such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood community and a fun place to hang out. There is a coffee shop/roaster, a great cafe, pilates and yoga studio, barber shop, and full-fledged gym. And more businesses are on the way including a bakery, BBQ restaurant, and a craft brewery with tasting room (12 beers on tap) coming this spring.
From our home, you will find it very easy to reach all of the most popular attractions, to include: Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, The North Pole, Cave of the Winds, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City, Olympic Training Center, Air Force Academy, Seven Falls, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and more - all within about 15 minutes of the house. The Royal Gorge, Cripple Creek and Denver are within one hour.
For hikers, runners and bicyclists, the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail is just 6 blocks west of our house.
For your peace of mind, we have a digital lock on the front door and the code is changed prior to all new arrivals. Other doors are re-keyed between visits.
We call our home The 3 R's. REST after a day of sight seeing by curling up with a good book or watching HD cable TV with HBO. Please call us or drop us an email so we can begin helping you plan a memorable visit. We will do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.
My husband and I moved from Seattle/Wichita in 2004, because the city offered everything we both wanted as we started our new lives together. We love Colorado Springs and are very excited about sharing our city and its surrounding area. There is so much to do and see here. A simple drive in the mountains never fails to rejuvenate our spirits. We enjoy hiking and would love to share our favorite spots.
Sheryl Courter purchased this house in 2008
We chose Colorado for it's natural beauty, great weather, and multitude of outdoor activities. From our home, you will be in the center of everything. Enjoy visiting our extraordinary attractions as well as hiking, bicycling, fishing, and exploring local history. You will also have quick and easy access to I-25, and you can be in Denver in no more than an hour.
Our home is located on the fringe of our city's most desirable Old North End neighborhood with its elaborate Victorian homes most of which were built between 1890 and 1901 with monies from the Cripple Creek gold strike. If you enjoy walking, you will love partaking in the many self-guided walking tours of the area. Visit our downtown also and enjoy your choice of outside cafes, many fine dining establishments, museums, parks, charming boutiques, nightclubs, the Penrose Library, the Fine Art Center, and the Pikes Peak Center.
Our family stayed at this beautiful home during Parent's Weekend at the AF Academy. We needed a spacious place to relax and spend some quality family time with our cadet. The house has beautiful wood floors with a large dining area for family to gather, a large updated kitchen, beautiful yard and outdoor seating to enjoy the mountain views. The garage was a nice touch to park both rental cars. It is close to the freeway, downtown, and anywhere else in COS that you wish to visit. This Victorian home is truly a gem. The owner has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable.
Overall, all went well. Minor issues:
1. No restroom downstairs for others to use, besides going into a private room.
2. Only one room had a TV, had to flip to see who won.
We recently stayed at a lovely vacation home in Colorado Springs, CO. Equipped with everything you might need, including a high chair and a stroller, lawn chairs, games for indoor and outdoor play, and the house was very, very clean and comfortable. Used three of the four charming bedrooms, and the kitchen is a dream. Short drive to Garden of the Gods, downtown, and Pike's Peak. Highly recommended!
We spent a week at the Victorian home which was wonderful. There were four of us and we all had more than sufficient room for what we needed. The updated bathrooms were a plus in this type home. We couldn't have asked for anything other than what was provided. We even had folding lawn chairs in the garage for the fourth of July fireworks. The kitchen was equipped with modern appliances which we seldom used, but was nice to have. The bedrooms were all very nice and exceptionally clean. We would definitely use the home again while visiting Colorado Springs. We got reacquainted with family from there and could even host them in this lovely house. The beds were all very comfortable as well.
We stayed in this house and loved it. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my mom. The furniture is new and comfortable. The kitchen is updated and well stocked - it even includes coffee.
The location is good - walked to Walgreens and restaurants were an easy drive.
We loved the views and the whole house.
The outdoor area was perfect for our group. The house has a BBQ and all the equipment. We were concerned about a lighter but even found that! Table with umbrella and lots of chairs for outdoor seating, too. Even croquet.
Walked to the Monument Creek pathway and followed it for several miles.
Beds were comfortable and house felt very clean with the hardwood floors throughout.
Would definitely choose this rental home again.
