Although I live in Montgomery County, PA, I grew up in Avalon, NJ in the summer surfing and fishing. I built my home in 2003 and have enjoyed Avalon Manor's quiet and slower pace. Although minutes from the hustle and bustle of so many shore towns Avalon Manor has retained the old fishing village feel.
Peter McFarland purchased this house in 2003
The area is a fantastic destination that offers something for everyone in the family. We enjoy fishing, boating, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and wave running - all of which we can do right from the dock on our property.
We chose this lot because of the open and unobstructed view of the Intercoastal Waterway. We designed the house as open concept to take advantage of the views from every room. The house is positioned on the lot to allow for plenty of off street parking for your boat trailer and cars.
Had a great time! Loved the covered porch and view of the bay. Made for great evening/morning moments together as a family. And so quiet!
This was the perfect vacation home for my family. It was such a gorgeous location....a dock right on the water with access to the intercostal waterway. We enjoyed mornings kayaking, swimming, sunning, and fishing. The deck was the focal point for coffee and breakfast and cocktails and dining. We used the grill several times and ate dinner while watching the boats sail by in front of our dock! The sunsets were spectacular. The interior of the home was larger and even more beautiful than the photos portrayed. We had plenty of room for 6 and room for more if needed. The upstairs den has a full sized sofa bed. The master bedroom is huge and looks out over the water! Practically every room in the house has a waterview because of the location. The home is very spacious and modern. The kitchen is very up to date and well equipped, including paper products and even spices!!! Two full bathrooms and a washer and dryer, plus the outdoor shower. which my sons used often, made this an ideal vacation home. The central air conditioning was a big selling point, although we had beautiful breezes right off of the water. We were only a 5 minute drive to the beaches and town and enjoyed dining out in Avalon and Stone Harbor! We have already put this home on the calendar for next year! The owner was a pleasure to deal with and was always courteous and prompt with the lease and deposit refund. It's a beautiful home and we all enjoyed our vacation! Thanks for a great week!

Third time staying at Avalon Manor, first time at this lovely house. Highly recommend if you enjoy peace & quiet, plus easy access to inshore and near shore fishing with your boat. With the harbor recently dredged in 2015 there is plenty of water to boat... even at low tide. Back patio has fabulous view + breeze, and the house interior is sure to please most guests. Already looking forward to another stay in 2017.
We spent a really nice week here. First time staying in Avalon Manor and we were impressed by the quiet peacefulness. Wonderful covered deck with a great view of the inter coastal waterway. Quick drive to beach with free parking. Hope for a return visit in the near future!
This Avalon Manor home provided a much-needed week of peaceful family time for my family of 6! With 4 kids ranging in ages from 9 to 14, our lives our hectic and we rarely are all in the same place at the same time with the various sports and extracurricular activities. The week we spent in this beautiful bay-side home was heaven! We enjoyed lazy mornings eating breakfast on the covered back deck which was just steps away from the water. The covered deck had fans to help keep us comfortable during evening dinners if there wasn't a breeze off the water (and we loved using the provided propane grill for an easy but delicious dinner). My kids loved setting crab traps right by the fish cleaning station. They couldn't wait to check every morning to see how many they caught. The home had generous sized bedrooms and bathrooms plus a beautiful kitchen and a washer and dryer so we didn't have to bring a ton of clothes. We enjoyed taking the short ride into Avalon for ice cream or a visit to the beaches and often went the few blocks down the road to visit the stores in Stone Harbor. The setting of the home in Avalon Manor was peaceful and quiet. It was a treat just sitting on the deck and seeing the water and enjoying the breeze. We were all thrilled to see a pod of dolphins come through the bay one evening - there must have been 10-12 of them. While we walked around the neighborhood, we were delighted to see all the turtles crossing the road on a daily basis. We've never seen so many turtles! My husband especially enjoyed this home because it came with a boat slip, which meant he could easily jump in his boat and go fishing to his heart's content (he caught some sizeable fluke/flounder while we were visiting). This home helped make our vacation a small slice of Heaven and gave our family an opportunity to re-connect with each other and enjoy a week together that we will cherish!
The house is central to all south Jersey attractions from scenic Cape May to Atlantic City. We are minutes to the Cape May Zoo, biking trails, golfing, restaurants, shops and stunning beaches. Only minutes to Avalon's shops, restaurants and bars while you enjoy the quiet peacefulness of Avalon Manor.
