What makes this house unique

Our house is conveniently located between the public boat launch and the public beach both only a short walk in either direction. The lot is large and has something to offer everyone, weather playing lawn games, or laying on our private beach, swimming in shallow water or jumping off docks, climbing rocks and boulders, or even catching frogs.

The many sliding doors and windows and open floor plan make lake views accessible from almost every room. Sitting on the large comfortable deck drinking coffee and watching the sunrise is a great way to start any day.. then later in the day when the sun starts to set you can sit and listen to the loons, or later watch the stars while feeling the breeze from the water. Every day offers a different beautiful view of this lake. We love this lake and are sure any one visiting it will as well.

Best vacation in a long time...

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip up to the Acadia area and it did not disappoint! The house is incredibly cozy, even has a wood stove for the colder nights. The lake is very tranquil and we took several canoe trips on it with our dog. It is about a 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park, which is breath taking. We recommend eating at one of the lobster pounds in Ellsworth to get the full Maine experience. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation, one of the best ones we have had in a while. Definitely coming back!

Fantastic lake front property

  • 5 of 5

The property was privately nestled on a lake with it's own private dock and canoe. The property was clean and had everything we needed. We had the ability to bring our dogs, even though we ended up not, it wouldn't have been a problem. The house was very large, and easily accommodated the 5 of us. Ellsworth is a great little town to visit, and Bar Harbor and Acadia National park are amazing spots. Mike and Tracy had a lovely book detailing things about the house and lake and restaurant recommendations which were spot on. Finn's and the Union River were amazing restaurants. Our whole family looks forward to vacationing again in Maine, maybe in the summer next time so we can take more advantage of the water.

Pet Friendly beautiful lakeside home near Bar Harbor

  • 4 of 5

The pet-friendly property was squeaky clean, well-furnished, comfortable, relaxing and equipped with a lakeside fire pit, Old Town canoe, amazing views from the deck, and floating dock. We took day trips to Bar Harbor and the Sunrise ATV Trail. My husband missed access to the NFL games and faster internet. I found the extensive DVD collection met my needs. The owner was very responsive to any questions. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Owner's Response: Thank you for tour review. We have added satellite t.v. for the 2017 season, also kept the huge DVD collection. We also replaced two older beds and a couch with new ones. We look forward to return visits.

A wonderful lake front property

  • 5 of 5

My group of 11 (2 families) stayed at this lovely rental home. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Mark and Tracy were very thoughtful when setting up and stocking the house and were easy to work with for our booking and when we contacted them with questions.

We enjoyed the warm water for swimming. We also had fun boating and fishing.

Several towns are nearby to pick up groceries or to go out to eat.

We also went to Acadia National Park to hike the trails and saw beautiful views.

We saw loons and a bald eagle on the lake. Very exciting !

Overall a great vacation ! Thank you !

Fantastic home and location

  • 5 of 5

This was a first for my family to travel north for a summer vacation, so glad we did.

The home is large, more than enough room for the six of us (Can easily accommodate 10+) and the house is very well kept, clean, and well equipped.

The property afforded us privacy and the lake is crystal clear.

The kayaks and canoe were a plus, really enjoyed them.

We caught lots of fish off of the the homes private dock, very relaxing.

We also brought our eight month puppy, he also had a blast.

The home is pet friendly.

Day trip to Arcadian National Park, 30 minute or so drive, well worth it, highly recommended and Ellsworth has some pretty good returanants, food shopping too.

Mike was very accommodating, just a phone call away if needed.

Overall highly recommend and will be back.

Beechhill Pond is a beautiful place and it would be easy to never leave the lake, with activities like. swimming, fishing, hiking , boating ,or just relaxing to name a few. But if coming to Maine for the first Bar Harbor, and Acadia National park are a must see . Its where the mountains meet the sea. Hiking and biking are available as well as driving up Cadillac Mountain for breath taking views. Along the way you could stop and visit Sand Beach ,or thunder hole.. If the kids like water parks or mini golf they are near by .
