This privately-owned, single-level, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condominium apartment is located in picturesque Ocho Rios (“Ochee” for short) on Jamaica's famous north coast. It is situated in the prestigious, 14-acre Columbus Heights condominium complex, a gated and secure community nestled among lush green foliage on a hill high above Ochee's main harbor.

If you're looking for affordable, first-class accommodations, this is it!!

This apartment has:

* 24-hour, 7 days per week security staff (including security booth attendant) responsible for screening all inbound and outbound vehicular traffic and patrolling the grounds

Beach Options:

Ocho Rios Bay (fee-based public) beach, complete with watersport activities. The beach is open daily from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Watersport activities include:

We also recommend Bamboo Beach Club ( a 15-minute drive along the road from Columbus Heights toward Oracabessa.

Our housekeeper's name is Barbara Hinds. Mrs. Hinds is a pleasant woman who has been working for our family for many years, and she is an excellent cook. For a fee, she will shop for and cook all meals for you. Just ask her. A gratuity payment to her is always optional, but we encourage its payment if she provides you a more than satisfactory level of service. A suggested minimum gratuity for her is US$5/night/per person.

This apartment may not be suitable for persons who have limited mobility or require mechanical assistance (such as a wheelchair) to move about. There is no elevator, and the apartment can be accessed from the ground floor only by three flights of stairs.

All bookings are based on double-occupancy. You will have access to the entire apartment (living room/dining room, kitchen and terrace) and will not share the apartment with anyone who is not in your booking party. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the rental agreement, in the event our apartment is not available for use during the period of your booking due to reasons, events, or circumstances beyond our control, we will apply due diligence and good faith efforts to locate a replacement property that equals or exceeds our apartment solely with respect to occupancy capacity (i.e., one bedroom for every two adult persons detailed in your booking), location and value. If such replacement property cannot be found and made available to you, we will immediately return (on a pro rata basis) all payments made by you, whereupon any agreement we have with you will be terminated and you and we will have no further obligations or liabilities in any manner pertaining such agreement.

During your vacation you will be staying in a private home, not a hotel. The cost of electricity is Jamaica is very high. Consequently, in addition to any energy surcharge that we might have asked you to pay, Ms. Hinds, our housekeeper, has been instructed to turn off lights and air conditioners in the apartment whenever it is vacant. That means if you leave the apartment for the day and leave a light or air conditioning split running, she will turn it off. If you have any question or problem with this instruction, please bring it to our attention immediately. Our aim is to balance your desire to have a comfortable and enjoyable vacation with our need to control overhead costs.

What makes this condo unique

This property is located near enough to the excitement and conveniences of a bustling city center, but it's also far enough away from the hub-bub that it offers peace and quiet and the opportunity for a really relaxing vacation.

François (Frank) and his companions were terrific guests. The A/C and internet issues were addressed immediately and both were in good working order within hours. Regarding the problem with the broken glass top on the dining room tabel, it seems that there was a miscommunication with the Front Office. François asked for the glass not to be replaced while he was in residence. But, it seems that the Front Office did not start the process of ordering the replacement glass top until two days before François was due to check out. That caused some confusion about payment methods with the result being that the replacement glass did not actually arrive until after François had checked out. Also, it seems that François was not properly offered a receipt for the payment. All in all, despite these few hiccups, François has assured us that he and his companions had a wonderful vacation and thoroughly enjoyed staying in our apartment. We're hoping to see François and his friends next year on their return visit.

Great time in Ocho Rios

First thing you should know about this place his that you must have Mrs Hinnes (Barbara) cook for you... She cooks great traditionnal meals, with love and attention, she is so sweet and loving, thank you so much Barbara for your good care. The condo itself is bigger than the pictures actually let you see, the big porch is certainly one of the main highlights of this place and the kitchen is very small when you're two inside it's crowded. The condo is perfect for 4 persons, if you don't intend to cook yourself. The general condition of the inside is average don't expect it to be like a Hilton, but all & all it was satisfactory to us.

The pool is almost a private pool since 9 times out of 10 when we used it we were alone...

Mr. Powell was very responsive and we appreciated the fact that he checked with us the firts days to make sure everything was good, we had a small issue with air conditioning and Wi Fi wich was taken care of in a diligent time.

What you need to know:

- there are no screens on the widows and opening so at knight you do get some of bitting muskitos comming in, you should bring repellant.

- The condo as a magnific view because it's on a hillside, wich also means you will have to go up hill comming back from town and there are many steps from the pool to the condo, plus there are 27 steps in the straicase to get to the condo. For us this was not an issue we used that as a work out, after our 3 weeks stay our cardio was used to all that climbing.

- We had a deception, we were charged $100 000 Jmc for the glass on top of the dinning table, one night we were having diner and our arm were resting on the glaas on the table which had a tablecoth under wich seemed to cause a space, thus resulting on pressur on the sides we heard a crack and notice the glass splited from side to side right in the middle. We had to pay that amount even if it never was replaced nor got a written estimate from a store, we kind of felt we got the short change on that one, since we feel it was more a flaw of the way it was installed than an abusive use of our part. I would recommand you ask the glass to be removed prior to your arrivale to prevent this very irritating situation to happen again.

We recommand this place you get you're money's worth and more, at no time when felt not secured.

➢ We will accommodate children under 12 years of age free of charge. However, all bookings MUST include all persons except infants who will sleep in the same room as an adult. We will make an adjustment of the rate based on the number of children under the age of 12. Subject to our sole discretion, the maximum number of persons we will accommodate for a booking is four (4).
➢ The apartment is also available on monthly basis or for a longer period. (Please contact us for those applicable rates and further details.)
➢ A security deposit will be payable at or prior to check-in. The amount will be adjusted upward for stays that are longer than seven (7) nights. We reserve the right, but we will not be obliged, to reduce the amount of the 100% refundable damage deposit to as low as US$250.
