great location, good views and pet friendly

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Beach Serenity. We definitely got our exercise while there, but luckily there's a hot tub to relax in! Love the outdoor shower and house layout overall, was clean, didn't smell like dogs and relaxing. Great views of the sound in the evenings from the top deck, you could watch the wind surfers easily. If you afraid of frogs, Rodanthe in general is not for you... but we thought they were super cute and the kids had a blast trying to catch them. Internet was down when I tried to long on, contacted the owners and problem was fixed very quickly. Would definitely stay here again, just not next year because I'm currently expecting and there were a lot of stairs lol.

Large enough home for 6 adults and 2 children

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay but had a problem that couldn't be solved. The VRBO website said that the house we stayed in had beach access. The road was flooded the entire week we were there. I realize it had rained but this road looks like it was under water for quite some time. We had to load everyone up into the car and drive to the public beach access.

The house needed a good deep cleaning.

The dryer stopped working a day before we left and we had to hang clothes out to dry.

I think we would stay there again if the house was properly cleaned and the road to the beach was clear and open. It was a very quiet beach and that we all loved.

Perfect property for our first trip to the Outer Banks!

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and exactly as described on the website. There was plenty of room for my family to spread out and relax. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, soap, and towels. Dishwasher detergent is provided. There were plenty of bath towels and wash cloths. The sheets were clean and neatly folded on the beds when we arrived. There was toilet paper in the bathrooms, but be sure to bring an extra roll for each bathroom. Bring paper towels too. There are several beach towels in the laundry area to use. It took a little while to clean up on the last day of our stay. We washed all the bedding and towels and returned everything as we had found it upon our arrival. Bring laundry soap. There are boogie boards, beach toys, and beach chairs to use. The hot tub was very clean and nice. My daughters especially loved it! The outdoor shower was great to get all the sand off and keep it out of the house. Our dog even enjoyed getting rinsed off out there. There was some flooding during our stay that prevented us from using the beach access closest to the house. There was a public beach access just a minute or so down the road that was perfect for us. The beach was not overcrowded. We also enjoyed being close to a public access beach on the sound side. Our younger daughter enjoyed this break from the big waves. The neighborhood is quiet. We never heard much noise from the surrounding properties. There is a convenience store close by and several places to get ice cream. You don't feel like you are in a tourist attraction in this area. This house was a great value and we would book it again in the future! Our deposit was promptly refunded after our departure. The owners were very friendly and quick to respond when we had questions. You won't find much use for renting a golf cart in this area, but if you need to rent something like that, call Island Cruisers. They have outstanding customer service and were very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My family and I enjoyed staying at your home. The home is beautiful, such great charm with beautiful décor . This was our first visit to Rodanthe, North Carolina. I would recommend this home to anyone who would like to have a great time in a quiet area close to the beach and driving distance to markets and necessary stores that you would need during your stay to add the best part of our stay in this home was the beautiful night Sky's sitting on the open balcony the star's were breath taking and during the day to unwind the jacuzzi was an added bonus, such a cute lil wet bar area to sit and relax. My family are beach people and the beach was within walking distance from the house. We had the chance to meet the owner and he was very friendly and helpful. If I am every in the area again I would certainly consider staying at this property again.

Thank you,

Michael and Joann

A great homeaway from home

  • 5 of 5

While driving out to our stay in North Carolina we heard about a possible hurricane that might hit the area we were staying. When we got there the weather started getting bad and we knew we might be stuck inside for awhile. It was great when we showed up to a place that really felt like a home. From the little attention to detail to decorating the home you couldn’t find from any type of hotel which made the place feel like it was your home. The place was well kept especially seeing other places around the area. I met Steve when he came over to do routine cleaning of the hot tub. Great guy and you can tell he kept the place in great condition. Pretty much everything was provided and all we had to do was make a quick stop to the grocery store (which i recommend doing before a storm hits, lol). The only concern i had was the road into the place easily floods so make sure your in a high profile type of vehicle going in which even is not necessary because my tribeca did okay in the high water. Beach access was a little confusing because some of the homes had no trespassing signs but i think they just didn’t want people parking in the area. We walked down with no real issues other then a black snake. These were very minor issues which i know that the owners really had no control over and that is why i gave a 5 star because they really did a great job for a great price. Thanks guys!
