Excellent Condo in a Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this condo. It is even nicer than it looks in the pictures.

The unit was immaculate when we checked in. The furniture is in outstanding condition and the beds are comfortable. The linens are of excellent quality. The living area is a good size. It looks a little bigger in the pictures than in reality, but there is plenty of room for a reasonably sized group of six. The fact that there are TWO master bedrooms with king sized beds is a huge bonus, especially if you are traveling with two couples. There are television sets in all the rooms, including a giant (55" or 65") flat-screen TV in the main living area. The WiFi internet worked well. The kitchen was very well stocked with the basics (and more). It was also very well organized making it easy to find the things you need.

The location of this condo is very good. The neighborhood is nice and if you're up during ski season, it is a very short walk to the lifts. For some reason, the map on VRBO (when we looked) put this condo in the center of town, but in reality, it's just steps away from Canyon Lodge. It was summer when we visited, but if we were skiing this would have been a perfect location. It was a quick drive down to the Village (probably 1/2 a mile). It's also walkable down to the Village, but it would be a pretty steep climb back home.

We're giving this property a well deserved five-star rating. The only areas of improvement are as follows: (1) There aren't a lot of "instructions" provided to tenants, including WiFi logon information. We called the management company and they were able to quickly help us out with that. (2) The couch is one of those super-comfy, sink into it couches. Too much so in our opinion, but some might really like that. (3) The views from the condo aren't great--there are some peek-a-boo views of mountains, but mostly you see other condos in the area. (4) The fees, including the cleaning fee, are too high even for Mammoth, but in fairness, this is disclosed upon booking. All of these "cons" are so minor that they don't warrant the reduction of a star in our review.

We'd highly recommend this property to anyone considering a stay in Mammoth and we'd definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay in Mammoth!

  • 4 of 5

We had an amazing weekend staying in this Mammoth condo.

Pros: SO close to Canyon Lodge. Was able to use the assigned parking space as well as guest parking spaces since it wasn't crowded. Really cozy but totally comfortable for 7 adults. 3 bathrooms. Nice bedrooms and living area. Awesome storage closet for ski gear. Overall just a fabulous place to stay at a very reasonable price!

Cons: Floor wasn't vacuumed upon arrival. Fireplace took FOREVER to get going, and we had to go out and buy extra fire starters and fake logs because the provided wood was wet and the circulation in the wood stove wasn't great -- but the persistence pays off! If you can't get it lit, it can be a bit chilly in the place at times. The condo is kind of far from the hot tub area so it was too hard to get over there with all the snow. The jets in the master bathroom jacuzzi tub didn't work.

Again, the pros FAR outweighed the cons. We had a wonderful time and would return!

Maybe 100 yards from Canyon Lodge. No need for driving, parking, or standing in line for the gondola.

Fireplace, starting with the fire starter didn't work. Evidenced by the fact that the box of matches had just three sticks left, and the logs next to the fireplace were bone dry despite all the logs outside being covered in snow. In other words, all the other tenants had given up on the fireplace as well.

There was no dishwasher detergent, so I had drive to the management office to get some.

The unit is bit outdated, but still nice and comfortable.

Owner's Response: Hi there, I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay so close to Canyon Lodge! I am suprised that the fire starters didn't work for you! I do apologize and our quality control will make sure to have the unit stocked more for any future guests. Thank you for sharing your experience and we look forward to hosting you again!
