Wonderful place for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Everything you could want to create a great summer vacation for our three generations who gathered over the July Holiday. A huge, well appointed kitchen enabled us to cook for all of us. Hanging out at the lake, using the canoe's and kayaks, on the hot summer days was awesome. At night we gathered by the fire for more stories and fun, or pushed back the tables for an evening dance party. Plenty of room for everyone!

Wonderful Maine Getaway For Our Family

  • 5 of 5

Each summer, my family gathers together for a week. This year, my dad chose the Snowbird Lodge in Harrison, Maine. It was a winner for our large family that included 9 kids from ages 6-16. The layout was perfect for our family that totaled 19 people. It was very clean and the kitchen has every appliance we needed. Most of our time was spent at the Island Pond where the shallow water was kid-friendly and allowed for many enjoyable days in the sun. We thoroughly enjoyed paddling around the lake and jumping off the swimming platform. In the evening, we sat by the fire and even enjoyed the sauna when it became cooler. It was about an hour to Portland where we traveled to take a whale watch tour and learn about catching lobster. We had 3 generations with us who all enjoyed our week at Snowbird Lodge. Harrison is very close and a great place to get ice cream. We also trekked to Bridgton which was about 15 minutes and visited the book store and several local shops. Many thanks to Shelley for her wonderful hospitality and giving us a beautiful place to make memories!

Wonderful stay, enjoyed by all the guests.

  • 5 of 5

We rented Snowbird Lodge for a birthday party. Out of town guests spent the weekend at the lodge and everyone was complimentary about the accommodations. The Lodge was clean and had everything we needed. The owner lives on-site and greeted us when we arrived, made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were comfortable and the mattresses were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and all the guests were very impressed when they arrived and saw it. There were about 40 guests who lived nearby and came to the Lodge for the party. The Lodge comfortably accommodated everyone, was kid-friendly, and had ample parking for all the cars. The fireplace created a great ambiance and a warm glow in the living room. The large screen tv was great for displaying a slide show of photographs during the party. After the party, the kids watched some of the Lodge's movies while the overnighting adults relaxed. I wouldn't hesitate to rent the lodge again and recommended it to other guests who might be looking for a venue for a large group. We had lunch one day at the near by restaurant The Ruby Slipper and the party food was catered by the Campfire Grille and was excellent. The nearby town of Bridgton and Norway had stores for browsing and for party supplies and shopping. All-in-all the Snowbird Lodge was wonderful.

Great for large families

  • 5 of 5

Just wanted to say we had a great stay. The kitchen was large with everything we needed. There was plenty of space outside for fire and just sitting around relaxing. The owner was great and was available if needed. We are going back again this year. We hope to make this our regular family vacation every year.

Very enjoyable stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I came to the Lodge for two nights to attend a nearby family wedding.

The Snowbird Lodge suited us perfectly. The kitchen/dining area is very roomy and nice. The kitchen was very well stocked with just about any cooking gadget you could ever need. Plenty of silverware, dishes, and glasses. The great room was huge and has a beautiful fireplace. Lots of pine--floors, walls, and ceilings. With all the bedrooms upstairs, we had no problem accommodating everyone in our family. Also, according to my calculations, there were actually THREE queen beds, two full beds, and the rest were twins (with a large futon downstairs). I'm guessing they updated some of the beds from full to queen which was a good thing. So, if the bed size is important, you might want to confirm with the owners.

Having the four bathrooms upstairs also meant we could get ready for the day without being in one another's way. The pond is a quick walk away and provided us with some lovely foliage pictures!

All in all, a very nice time.
