Great location. Plenty of space.

  • 4 of 5

This home is on a quiet road with easy access to all that Eastham has to offer. The home is comfortable with a nice yard for activities. It helped us enjoy our week at the Cape!

Great house

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful house for our family of grandparents, parents, and 4 grade school age children. We have stayed here for 4 summers. We enjoy the open arrangement of kitchen, eating area (with chairs to seat all of us), and living room inside and the large deck with table and chairs, outdoor shower, and great backyard outside. There are lots of games, videos, books, and a notebook full of helpful information about the area. The washer and dryer always are appreciated. Each summer Lindy and John have added new things, both large and small, for example air conditioners, hammock, grill, upgraded internet, plantings in the yard, more glasses and cutlery, night lights, to name a few.

We love the location on a quiet lane but handy to several beaches and the rail trail. This year the kids were old enough to ride the trail (easily accessible from the house) to Arnold's for lunch and mini-golf. Soon they will be big enough to ride to Coast Guard beach, one of our favorites.

Over the years Lindy and John have been very quick to respond to any question or concern we might have. They have been committed to maintaining and improving their house and to graciously welcoming us each summer. We couldn't ask for better people to rent a vacation house from or a better vacation house for our family.

Highly recommend! Sept. perfect getaway time here!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. The location is ideal: on a little traveled gravel lane very close to the bicycle trail - we regularly biked to Coast Guard Beach on the Ocean. We also biked or walked less than a mile to a private town beach to swim in the clear fresh water of Herring Pond, Also First Encounter Beach on Cape Cod Bay is less than two miles and offers great walking at low tide and swimming in warm water at high tide. The house is very clean and comfortable and sleeps 10 (great spacious kid's room with bunks for 4), has a fully equipped kitchen. TV, internet stereo, games in the basement for kids and a nice grassy back yard for playing. Next year we will take our Grand Kids. Early Sept. is a wonderful time to be at the Cape-little traffic, easy access to popular nearby restaurants, and the first week-end after Labor Day is Windmill Week-end in Eastham: Arts and crafts, a sand castle contest, a big parade and concerts, rides and food on the Common. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and the house is nicely furnished with very comfy beds and outside deck is well equipped for cook-outs. Must the outside enclosed shower got a lot of use. Owners are welcoming and helpful. Loved it!!

Stay in Eastham

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this rental house! The house was clean when we arrived for check in, and had plenty of room for all of us. The kids loved playing in the back yard in the evenings. We had a short drive to the National Seashore beaches every day of our stay, and love staying in Eastham for that reason. We are already talking about renting the house again for next summer.

Nice, quiet stay

  • 4 of 5

We arrived early, owner had no problem letting us in. Nice house, plenty of room for our clan of ten. Basement has a smell of mold, expected for the beach air. Everything was as expected. Could use more dishes as we had to constantly wash them to reuse. We ended up with paper plates!! Although the beaches were farther away than we expected, we were centrally located. The bike trail was great.

The New York Times has called Eastham 'Cape Cod’s Little Secret.' Located on the outer Cape, Eastham offers visitors a quieter and less crowded environment than some of the more well-known areas of the Cape. Settled in 1644 by some Pilgrims from Plymouth, Eastham is bounded by Cape Cod Bay to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.

Eastham is the gateway to the Cape Cod National Seashore, which was created in the 1960s to protect the sheltering dunes and beautiful coastline. Eastham has two ocean beaches, Coast Guard Beach and Nauset Light Beach, which mark the beginning of a 30-mile beach stretching to Provincetown.

The Salt Pond Visitor Center is the primary information center for visitors to the Cape Cod National Seashore and the starting point for many nature trails and bicycle routes. The Cape Cod Rail Trail runs the length of town, passing by salt marshes, cranberry bogs, and ponds, and ends at the Visitor Center.

At Fort Hill, the Cape Cod National Seashore offers guide-yourself books for a 1.5 mile walking tour of the early settlement of Eastham. From here, there are spectacular views of Nauset Marsh and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.

The red and white Nauset Lighthouse is said to be the most photographed site on Cape Cod. In 1996, the lighthouse was moved to a safe perch further from the eroding cliffs.
