This beautiful, spacious home is located in the Northeast part of Indy which brings you quick access to all the great shopping, restaurants without getting on a freeway but freeway access is quick and close.
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Conner Prairie for live outdoor concerts, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indianapolis Zoo, Colts, Pacers, NASCAR, and of course the Indy 500 all within 20-25 minutes away.
Broad Ripple Village, an easy drive about 15 minutes west, is where the local yuppies, college students, and high school cool kids go for weekend fun. Also located in Broad Ripple is the famous Monon Trail, where you can conveniently walk, jog, bike or roller blade through miles of scenic, paved trail that was once accessed only by train.
The Unique Benefits at this House: Cheesecake Factory, Buca de beppo, Melting Pot, PF Changs, Ruths' Chris are all w/in 5 miles. Local restaurants we enjoy are Mama Carollas Old Italian Restaurant (recommend reservations), Zest, Capri, Palomino, El Rincon Jarocho, India Garden, and Bella Vita to name a few. Fast Food Chow Express is fresh and good in the Marsh shopping complex.
Our family of eight enjoyed four nights. The home is equipped with so many extras such as spices, specialty coffees, comfy throws, appliances, and Janeece even gave us a list of favorite stores and restaurants within just a few miles. We would definitely recommend this spacious, clean home. Loved the Zoo, Children's Museum, Holliday Park, and Handel's Ice Cream. Thank you!
House was clean and comfortable.
Stocked with lots on necessities such as spices, paper towels, etc.
Owner even had toothbrushes and tooth paste available if forgotten.
One family member did forget.
This home will be on a very short list of homes to rent for our next family gathering.
No disappointments at all, a pleasant stay.
The house was clean. We have huge allergy issues and there were no fragrances, odors or pet dander to deal with. The kitchen was well equipped, beds comfortable and bathrooms sufficient. The owner is courteous and accommodating. We hope to stay there in the future!
The owner has provided for almost everything a vacation renter could wish, including the use of the garage!
We spent four nights and had dinner parties for friends two of them. The added leaf at the DR table still allowed 8 of us to share the evening. The kitchen is outfitted quite well and the appliances are updated.
The bedding was comfortable and with no shortage of pillows. I prefer a feather pillow, but there was enough variety in the ones provided.
The neighborhood is good for walking and if you're more ambitious, the athletic complex behind Lawrence North HS offers plenty of room to roam. It was very quiet.
I grew up in Indianapolis and have traveled back there in each of the 33 years since I left. The traffic around Castleton has become very heavy. However, there is easy access to the Interstates and if you use some of the less traveled through streets it is possible to avoid some of the heavy rush-hour congestion.
I would not recommend the property to anyone who is mobility impaired as the style with a sunken living room entails steps in several areas.
We had another enjoyable stay at Janeece's place. This is out third time there. The location is ideal for us - close to family and any convenience we might need. Janeece is wonderful to work with.
We have used VRBO/HomeAway for many rentals and have been generally happy in our choices. This property was no exception!! All of the arrangements were done in a prompt and professional way, allowing our family to enjoy the Easter weekend without any concerns. The attention to detail, even the number of available boxes of facial tissue, was above average. We were able to prepare a very intricate Easter meal with the amenities made available in the kitchen. The location is handy to any area of Indianapolis and will certainly be on our list of homes to revisit.
The house was perfect for our annual girl's trip. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. There was plenty of space and the furnishing/decor were beautiful. So many times a rental provides you with the bear essentials but that was not the case here. So many nice touches.
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has its home in the Hilbert Circle Theater, a vintage 1916 film palace on Monument Circle. Clowes Memorial Hall, a performing arts center on the campus of Butler University, is home to the Indianapolis Opera, Butler Ballet, and Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. The professional Indiana Repertory Theatre, offers a September-to-May season, including classics such as A Christmas Carol. We have been to some great concerts at the Murat Shrine.
For live jazz every night except Sunday, head to the cozy Chatterbox Tavern, where big-name acts playing in town sometimes stop by. (Mick Jagger once dropped in after a Stones concert.) Another downtown top spot for live music is the Slippery Noodle Inn, Indiana's oldest standing bar (established 1850; rumor has it that Hoosier hoodlum John Dillinger used the club's back wall for target practice) and the place in the city for blues.
