Why Theresa C Johnson chose Greenbrier County

Located in the Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, WV area. There is a breathtaking panaramic view. This is not a cookie cutter home. It is solidly built with 4x4 construction, a custom built cedar home with the interior finished with natural wood from top to bottom, 2 stone fireplaces and a hot tub sanitized with an ionizer system. The setting and ambiance gives you a perfectly comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. It is totally secluded, there are no homes that you can see near you for your privacy. There is a second cedar home down the road, also totally private to the other, but walking distance, that could be used in addition for large groups.

What makes this lodge unique

Located in the Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, WV area. It is central to events and tourist attractions, such as Historic Lewisburg, Lost World Caverns Caves, Organ Cave, Snowshoe Ski Resort, Winter Place Ski Resort, The Greenbrier Resort, The New Orleans Saints Training Camp, The Greenbrier River, New and Gauley River for River Rafting, Bridge Jumping, Kayaking, Swimming, Blue Bend State Park for picnics, swimming, fishing, with wildlife and scenery everywhere.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This Review was written in the Lodge's Guest Book and this is what was said:

Our stay was from April 28th to August 10, 2012. This is our second year staying at Vista View. We come to the Lewisburg area every year. My husband's company does the bleachers and floors for the PGA. So we get to enjoy this house, the West Virginia mountains, and wonderful summer weather! We have enjoyed day trips to Snowshoe Ski Resort, Cass Railroad and the Natural Bridge. Take a cup of coffee and enjoy the mornings on the back deck....sunrise is outstanding! Deer with fawns are hear when we are. There are many other animals to be seen as well as a big variety of birds. Enjoy...we have!

Great Place for a get away!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. We had a group of 3 couples for a Super Bowl weekend. Cabin was very clean and accommodated us all very well. Cooked our meals in the large kitchen.Theresa was very easy to work with. Definitely recommend.

Owner's Response: Thank you for recommending my vacation rental home at Vista View in Greenbrier County, WV. All of my guests that visit at this home, just love it, and it pleases me to know that everyone is happy and content with their wonderful stays at Vista View. You can't beat the panoramic views! It's location tends to be a great central location to most states for family and friends to meet. We take pride in accommodating and pleasing our guests as best as we can, and keeping it clean and comfortable. The kitchen is easy for preparing meals, and with its large counter tops, it helps in setting up buffet style for large, or small groups for their great events and celebrations. Hope to see you all again in the future!

Perfect Thanksgiving vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (and our 2 pups) LOVED our time at Vista View Lodge! For 20 years now, I look for the perfect Thanksgiving getaway and we hit the jackpot. The location is perfect and offered tons of solitude and hiking. We even found many piles of black bear 'droppings'! The oversized outdoor hot tub is great for relaxing star gazing, all 5 of us loved getting in it nightly while appreciating the nature surrounding us. While the cabin itself is not luxurious, it surely is cozy, comfortable, and spacious. The décor is charming and we felt like we were at home immediately. It met all of our needs and has a well stocked kitchen which is a necessity for cooking a Thanksgiving meal. We especially loved the open concept of the house with the beautiful views. The huge wraparound deck was amazing and I'm sure it gets lots of grilling use in the summer months! Theresa was great to work with and very responsive. I also would suggest future guests visit the Lost Caverns, such a great experience for us and our kids.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your complimenting and great review. I sure am glad that the home at Vista View hit the JACKPOT for you after 20 years of searching for the perfect Thanksgiving getaway! I always try to make my guests' vacation as comfortable as I can, from the booking process through the time while staying and enjoying the home at Vista View. It is quite unique and private. You can't beat those views. And with the roofed wrap around porch, it doesn't matter if it rains or snows, you can still enjoy the great views relaxing in your hot tub, swinging on the porch swing, rocking in the rocking chairs, or grilling and eating on the outdoor patio table set. I noticed your remark saying that the" cabin itself is not luxurious, but it surely is cozy, comfortable, and spacious". First, calling it a cabin sounds like a small minimal structure in the woods. I guess because it is in the woods, most folks think that it must be a cabin. This is a large well constructed cedar home, built with 2X6 construction for added insulation, and has all the amenities of a well equipped large home with digital thermostat for central heat and air conditioning for efficiency and comfort. With the warmth of the interior with its wood from the ceiling, walls, floors, and two fireplaces, it is very welcoming. Some guests do feel it is luxurious. I guess everyone has different standards. It may not have Sub-Zero or Viking appliances, but does have quality to the appliances, such as an over sized convection oven, etc.. Thank you for being great guests, and do remember that you will be given a Discount on your next stay as repeat guests. Hope to see you soon!

  • 5 of 5

I think a review always comes down to two simple questions: Would you stay at the location again, and would you recommend it to someone else. So, in answering those two questions the answer is a definite YES!

Can't wait to plan our next visit.

Owner's Response: Thank you for being great guests and for your great review. It is quite welcoming, and once you are there, it gives you such a feeling of warmth. The drive is only about 17 miles in all from town, and takes only about 20 minutes once you get a little familiar with the drive. It is a nice change from being too close to the city, so private and peaceful. Come back soon!

5 years and counting....

  • 5 of 5

This was our 5th year at this wonderful get away! And our first with snow!!! Theresa, Matt, and Mother Nature always make our stay a memorable one. The lodge is wonderful for our group of cousins who come from Ohio, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Maryland to enjoy each other for one special weekend each year. The view across the mountain tops was spectacular with the snow fall. Matt, the manager, is always welcoming and addresses any issues rapidly. Theresa, the owner, is always accommodating to our needs. The lodge has all that you need to stay and enjoy the solitude that you'll find here. We also enjoyed our 2nd year attending the Chocolate Festival in nearby Lewisburg; and discovered a couple of new antique shops. Back at the lodge, we enjoyed fine wine, good food, and the hot tub. I have to say we were a little nervous when the 5" of snow greeted us on Saturday morning as to how the roads would be getting down off the mountain; but our front wheel drives had no problem. For first timers, the road way can be a little intimidating; but if us city dwellers can make it in the snow, anyone can! We can't wait for our visit next year and plan on changing it up a bit by coming in the fall to enjoy the fall foliage. Thank you Theresa and Matt for another great year.

Owner's Response: Well, we aim to please, and we take pleasing our guests seriously at heart. You are very welcome any time. We appreciate wonderful guests, such as your group, to stay at Vista View and enjoy. Next year will be your 6th year coming to Vista View, and this time, instead of springtime, you are choosing fall. It is really beautiful in the fall. The view is so vibrant with all the fall foliage colors, you will love it! The leaves glow as if they are lit up. Well, I see you had a surprise spring snow this year. It is so pretty to see how the snow outlines the mountain ridges. I'm glad you got to see that. You don't have to worry much about the roads, they are state maintained. Thank you, and see you again!
