About Gordon Russell
My wife's family grew up spending summers on Sagamore Beach. It is a wonderful place. So easy to get to Boston or Nantucket for the day and home in time for a cocktail in the hot tub! We purchased our home in 2003 and did major renovations in 2004 and 2005 and spent the entire summer there. Sadly, I can't get there as much right now...so take advantage!
Gordon Russell purchased this House in 2003
What makes this House unique
It is a property you never want to leave! Great days by the pool or at the beach. Cocktails on the front porch taking in a unique glimpse of the ocean. Great private grounds surrounded by a privet hedge. Nice little village great for a leisurely walk. Bike or walk (5 minute drive) to the Cape Cod Canal for a great jogging/biking/walking path. But...should you want to explore it is so easy. Boston is an hour away by car and the ferry to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard is a 30 minute drive.

Quiet, Sleepy Beach Community
My family has absolutely fallen in love with Sagamore Beach and we absolutely loved staying in this LARGE, nicely-kept home minutes from the beach. This neighborhood is the best-kept secret in all of Cape Cod!
A relaxing visit in a safe and fun home with many amenities!
My family and I returned a second time to this wonderful home. Again, we enjoyed everything about the home and the surrounding area. The house was clean and well equipped. With 4 children, there was not an immediate need to plan outings to entertain them. The pool, hot tub and games there, kept all of them busy and happy to spend time together. When we planned any site seeing, everyone was pleased to get home and spend time in the pool before getting a good night's rest. Kudos to the Russell house.

Great vacation home
The heated pool was wonderful. Close to the beach and shopping. Overall great vacation!!
Perfect Vacation Home
We had the best family vacation in this house. It’s perfect for a family trip allowing enough room for people to spread out but also easily come together by the pool. The pool and hot tub was amazing! The short walk to the beach was also perfect and easy. The house also has a cozy cape cod feel, we spent most nights chatting on the cute porch. We loved this spot & would definitely return.
Not what we expected!
The house looked lovely on the website but was very in need of an update when we saw the home. It was tired and not very well kept. The kitchen was disorganized, closets had old food, opened packages with past expiration dates, used bottles in the refrigerator it just didn't feel clean. A variety of pots and pans but very old teflon that rubbed off into the food!!! Sitting on the sink was a used tube of kids toothpaste and a 5# weight! The living room was nice and family room ok. Very nice front porch but again not very clean. The bedroom closets cluttered with old comforters etc. thrown on the bottom floor. It just felt unkept.
The home was in walking distance to the beach but be aware this is not the ocean side of the beach. The beach is not taken care of and was heavy with seaweed after a storm. The house provided 2 old beach chairs, really?! For the price of the home and for how many it slept I think more than 2 chairs could be provided as it is not possible to rent chairs or umbrellas on the beach. The only saving grace was the outside pool which was lovely. Lounge chairs and umbrellas (2) a hot tub and table to eat at along with a grill. All in all I felt the house was overpriced for the area and what was provided.
Great 2 family home
beautiful home with a nice view of the sound. Wh..en we arrived home was cleaned and a note nice note left by Bob the caretaker. Took a few minutes to figure out the pool and spa directions but we managed to figure it out. Glad we had the pool and spa because the sound was ice cold. Lots to do within a few miles... beaches ,parks, golf, etc. took a ride to Provincetown...lots of traffic..but enjoyed the sights.House was well equipped..could use a few sharp knives. Really enjoyed the front porch...coffee time- card games- reading... very comfortable. Would consider renting again, Thanks
Wonderful, relaxing, family friendly village of Sagamore Beach. Stay close to home and enjoy the pool and beach, or take easy day trips to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard Islands (30 minutes to the ferry). Or enjoy a day in Boston on the Freedom Trail and take in a Red Sox game at Fenway (60 minutes by car). Or perhaps enjoy a day of fishing out of Barnstable (20 minutes by car) or a Whale Watch trip out of Plymouth (20 minutes by car). Sagamore Beach is convenient to it all.
There are a many top notch golf choices within 30 minutes drive. My favorite is Pine Hills. It is a great course (actually there are two courses). There are at least a half dozen others to choose from. I have found it fun to take a fishing charter. You can go to West Barnstable Harbor for Cape Cod Bay or to Buzzards Bay on the other side of the Cape. A fun day might be whale watching out of Plymouth Harbor. I would encourage you to take a day trip over to Nantucket. All these are within about 30 minutes car ride or so. For shopping I would recommend a trip to Mashpee Commons (also nice restaurants and a movie theater there) and/or Osterville (more quaint). A little farther away is the town of Chatham - this is a nice day trip to take.
Sagamore Village is quiet and nice. Williston Road is a dead end and taking early morning /evening walks around the neighborhood is enjoyable. Also take a bike ride (or run or walk) along the Cape Cod Canal It is just a 5 minute bike ride away.
Additional information about rental rates
I hope you are looking forward to your stay this summer at 445 Williston Road in Sagamore Beach! The house will be open for your arrival. The front door key will be in the kitchen along with a book containing lots of valuable local information There is a spare gas canister for the grill should yours need swapping while you are there. The lawn and pool are attended to on a weekly basis. Please secure all trash in the container on the driveway to prevent attracting animals. Trash is picked up by Gibbs each Wednesday and Saturday morning at 600 am. Trash barrels need to be left at the street near the mailbox. Please place the barrels there on Tuesday and Friday night (leave well covered). If you leave the house on Saturday without bringing your trash in the barrels to the street Friday night there will be an additional charge. Bob Wilde is the caretaker of the property and will help if you run into any difficulties of any kind. Bob is a wonderful guy and is very helpful. He can be reached by email at email@example.com or by text or cell at 508.360.1071. Poliana will prepare the house for your arrival and I'm sure you'll be very pleased with the job she does. If you'd like her to return during your stay feel free to email her directly to arrange that service. The house is fully stocked with linens and towels. There are beach chairs and umbrellas on the front porch or in the basement. There is a Keurig carafe* and a Mr. Coffee coffee maker. *The Keurig has given people trouble (me too), so we have a back up. If it gives you trouble call Keurig (not Bob), they are very helpful. Your arrival time is 4:00 pm and your departure time is 10:00 am. Important: Don't attempt to control the pool or spa from the pump area. Controls are at the panel in the house and - for the spa an additional control is in the pool deck. The pool cleaner and filter system are set to run automatically each day. Do not remove the Polaris pool cleaner from the pool as this can cause damage
