I stayed for the Easter week in John's lovely apartment with my two grown up children. The apartment was perfect for us. It was comfortable for 3 adults and John was kind enough to stock the fridge with wine and provide complimentary snacks and cakes. The apartment was round the corner from the subway but also within walking distance of 5th Avenue, the Highline and Chelsea Market. We also walked down to Greenwich Village for a meal on the Saturday and it was a pleasant 20 min walk. The neighbourhood felt safe, even at night and while there is a park/play area next to the building this was quiet in the evenings and during the day just the noise of young people playing games, quite nice actually. The apartment is on the top floor so while it is rather a climb it does mean that it is rather quiet for New York - also has a fabulous view of the Empire State and the skyline from the bedroom. Don't be put off by the rather utilitarian stairway - when you open the door of the apartment it is like an oasis of calm and full of lovely artwork. John is a gracious host and extremely good at making contact about arrangements and any other queries - he returns emails straight away. I wouldn't hesitate visiting here again - it made the holiday for us.
Great apartment. John greeted us on arrival and was very helpful. Very clean, well equipped, spacious apartment with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Well located - close to Chelsea Markets and the subway plus, plus. We stayed for nine nights. Very comfortable bed which is always a bonus. Because the apartment is at the end of the block there are windows on 2 sides so lots of light and sunshine. Be aware it is up 4 flights of stairs but this was not a problem for us. Thank you John.
This apartment was a true home away from home. Very well set up, with an eclectic and wonderful collection of artwork. The beds were very comfy and the view over the Manhattan skyline from the bedroom was magical, especially at night.
We found the neighbourhood really interesting to explore, and so convenient to the subway, Chelsea market and the Skyline.
Our host, John, couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.
We definitely will stay here again on our next trip to New York.
Just what we needed with ease of access to all the main areas of interest in NYC.
This is a beautiful bright apartment in Chelsea close to shops and the subway. Big dining area and well equipped kitchen. Fantastic view of Empire State building. The owner is very nice and easy to contact if you need help with anything. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a home away from home in the big city.
John is amazing! This little gem in Chelsea exceeded our expectations. John is a gracious host. Cupcakes, munchies and a fully stocked fridge with Sparkling water, Wine, sparkling wine and Beer.
The apartment itself is comfortable, well decorated with beautiful art throughout.
The view and location was perfect. Walking distance to Chelsea Market, Whitney and the Highline. Surrounded by great shopping and food.
