About The Owner

The Lake house has been in our family since 2003 allowing both of our children to enjoy the summers on the lake. It's been a favorite getaway for my wife and I on the weekends during the winter months to enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. Also a favorite place for our family to enjoy the Holidays - Thanksgiving & Christmas - the more snow the better! One Christmas our son Brendon snowboarded off the roof of the garage, we had so much snow! Our main home is in Sequim, WA just 45 minutes away so it is a quick getaway. I personally enjoy the Hot Tub at night under the amazing stars that out on a clear night or in the morning with a cup of coffee at while gazing at snow line on Mt. Storm King on the South side of the lake. Lake Sutherland from our deck has been described by a friend as 'just like being on Lake Como in Italy'! The Lake house is on the Sunny Side of the Lake, so it's very enjoyable year round.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2003

Why The Owner chose Olympic Peninsula

Family memories and my Father-in-law wanted his grand kids to expierence growing up on a lake. Because he grew up on Lake Washington in Seattle. Personal Birthday parties with live bands down at the Maple Grove community docks.

What makes this cabin unique

Swimming at midnight under the stars, waterskiing, fishing, powerboating and wine & cheese boat cruising, hiking on the Spruce Railroad Trail at Lake Crescent or Marymere Falls. Enjoying a faboulous hamburger at the Lake Crescent Lodge.

Family get away

  • 5 of 5

We loved this home. Spotless clean, light and airy, excellent location. We woke up every morning and sat on the deck enjoying our coffee. We were the closest to the water yet had privacy. Eagles flew by every day and ducks hung out with us in the afternoon. One of the best fishing places happens to be straight off the deck in the middle of the lake. We highly recommend and will look forward to returning. The pictures do not do this home justice. Ample room for all who stay.

Relaxing get away with Spectacular View

  • 5 of 5

Our family (2 parents and 2 teenage girls) needed some down time after several days of sight seeing, in Vancouver, Vancouver Island and Seattle, which are all fairly close to this hidden gem. We ventured into Olympic National Park for some additional sight seeing and hiking but once we got to Lake Sutherland we really didn't want to leave. The view of the lake against the mountains was spectacular. There were a pair of bald eagles that were often out soaring along the edges of the lake. The lake is very peaceful and there were very few boats or jet skiers to break the near silence while out on the dock or on the lower patio.

We grilled fresh seafood on the propane grill, enjoyed the hot tub and even had a small fire one night on the lower patio near the water as the stars came out our last night here. This is an ideal house for a family or 2 couples wanting to get away from the noise and fray of everyday life.

Granny's Cafe down the road is a nice little spot for a meal if you don't feel like cooking, Port Angeles and Sequim aren't very far by Pacific NW terms and offer great dining options as well. The Lodge at Lake Crescent is also near for dining with a view.

The owners were easy to work with, the kayaks are a nice addition and we would highly recommend staying here especially in the Summer when the weather seemed too perfect. This house is priced fairly and worth every penny for some one that wants to relax for few nights or a week and doesn't need a sandy beach to do so.

Excellent place to spend some quality time

  • 5 of 5

This was what all of us (6 friends) needed for a long time. A beautiful place nestled in the mountains with lake front and stunning views. Peaceful and relaxing. House had all the amenities we needed along with a great hot tub, fire pit and fully accessorized kitchen. In all a great place to spend your holidays.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This house is great! The view of the lake is wonderful, the kitchen is well equipped with all you need to cook a meal, having the washer and dryer was a bonus, and the bed was comfortable.

There were only two of us but the house would accommodate many more.
