Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a great time. Almost no words to describe it. Great house, great beach, great island, great people…………….on and on and on……….

We took a day trip over to Harbour Island and enjoyed that just as much.

We will definitely be back.

Beautiful Home & Beach

  • 5 of 5

The house was even more beautiful in person. Huge rooms, spacious, perfect condition. Maids came twice a week which was a huge bonus & they did an amazing job. Matthew & Anne were a huge help with recommendations & making all arrangements go smoothly. & answering any questions very promptly. They both checked in regularly to make sure that everything was going ok. Double bay is great long beach, perfect for long walks & no one in site. We visited Ten Bay beach (shallow & flat water) & Lighthouse Beach-both are a must see!! We also did the swimming hole in Rock Sound. I was very hesitant after reading some reviews thinking it wouldnt be clear water. Bring bread & feed the fish & its amazing. The kids all loved it & pictures turned out great! The perfect part of this is that its centrally located on the island so that you can do day trips to the north & south. If we were at one end of the island, we would have never done that! Rock Sound has the biggest grocery store & takes credit cards-but its worth the trip. Governors Harbor grocery is very small & is cash only. The glass bridge is cool-but dont venture out to just see that--piggy back it on with stopping at some other beaches or taking water taxi to spanish wells for the day.

Wifi in the house was not working consistently-they came several times to work on it but it still wasnt working consistently-its my understanding that they are trying to work on this to fix it. Also as mentioned in a previous review-there are frogs in the cistern which were extremely loud & could be heard from one bedroom closet where access panel is.My kids slept in that room but if it were me i wouldnt have been able to sleep. Its also my understanding that the owners are working on this problem. This is one of the best properties that i've ever stayed at. We travel every year and would absolutely return to this same house & location.

Excellent Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was excellent. The beach was incredibly private and the waters wonderful. We loved the beach right off the back of the house so much, we only visited another beach once during our week stay. We saw Rays, sharks and reef fish in waste deep water while enjoying the surf. The house is great and Anne and Shelly's crew are the best. They will make you feel at home and help in any way they can. House has everything you need for a week of fun and relaxation. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place.

Amazing Beach and Estate

  • 5 of 5

This place is a must for those who enjoy their privacy. A beautiful home, private pool and your own beach that stretches for miles. While on the beach we were able to explore the sea as it came to life. Anne told us about a shipwreck in the bay that we were able to explore as well. Anne, Shelley and there staff were very helpful to all our needs. We were able to enjoy the island from the ocean hole all the way to Harbour Island. A dinner at 1648 at sunset is a must! Ten Bay beach is an amazing place to visit as well. Matt and Tara deserve a big thank you for helping us with all our travel needs. Of all the wonderful places we saw on the island I truly believe Endless Summer was the most wonderful of all. I highly recommend Endless Summer to anyone who enjoys being spoiled with Island life.

Great vacation spot surrounded by natural beauty!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Endless Summer, including the cottage, as a Spring Break getaway for 2 families, 9 people in total, with 4 children between the ages of 10-15. What a wonderful week! The location is perfect for getting away from it all. The house looks pretty much like the pics on VRBO. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen reasonably well appointed for a beach house. There was room for everyone to do their own thing. Kids spent a huge amount of time playing in the pool. One interesting quirk with the house. There's a cistern underneath 1 of the bedrooms that stores rainwater. Some frogs have made it home and on a few nights, during or after rain, they made enough noise to be disturbing.

The location is perfect for getting away from it all. Double Bay has gorgeous pink sand beaches, crystal clear water, and a great reef that starts just feet from the steps coming down from Endless Summer. Most days we saw only a couple of folks walking the beach. While snorkeling (decent equipment provided), we saw at least 20 species of fish including barracuda and brightly colored corals and sea fans. Two excellent sea kayaks are provided and an excellent way of exploring the bay and reefs. We even took some light tackle spin rods out and fished from them, catching some decent jacks about 100 yards off the beach. We had a few days where weather caused the Atlantic waters to be too rough for swimming. But don't worry, just head to Ten Bay Beach on the Caribbean side, just an 8 minute drive from Endless Summer (ask for directions and the road to the beach is awful but we did it with 9 people in a minivan and you can do it too). There the water was flat and shallow enough to walk out a couple hundred yards. We found starfish and sand dollars, snorkeled the grass flats and found many Conch.

This was our first trip to Eleuthera. One of the things that were heard in advance that proved to be quite true are that some of the roads are terrible, almost none are marked. Luckily there is little traffic and most drivers are cautious and courteous. Stop and ask directions a lot-no one seemed to mind. Food is VERY expensive, and selection limited. I would head to Tarpum Bay at 3:00 to buy fresh fish (about 25 minutes south), go to the Island Farm for produce & fresh bread (about 10 minutes north).

Matt Simon from Eleuthera Vacations provided great info upfront & the transaction was smooth, Anne Bethel met us at the house and gave great advice making our trip awesome!

Absolutely incredible

  • 5 of 5

Where to even start? The island itself is incredible. Words cannot describe what that place is like. The house, endless summer, is out of a magazine. Besides the view being amazing, everything was clean and functioning, all the rooms showed no trace that someone else had been there. The cleaning ladies that came were extremely nice, they gave us tips on some activities we could do and do a very good job cleaning the house. The beach is amazing and the sunrises are like nothing else on this planet. Matt, Tara, Anne, and Dina are all very accommodating and are also very nice. We cannot thank them all enough for how much help they all provided for us. Matt and Tara will answer emails in a very timely manner and are always willing to help. Anne is available for immediate assistance once arriving to the island and is also very responsive and gives great advice on places to go and try out.

The first day we hung out at the beach which is literally right out the back door and enjoyed the pool at night. The second day we went to Ten Bay Beach which is about a 10 minute drive to the beach access road and then about another 5-10 minutes down a packed dirt road. The beach is on the Caribbean side and it feels like you could walk out for miles in about knee to waist high water. On Tuesday we woke up early and went to Anne's Island Farm in Palmetto Point which had fresh bread, produce and other things, highly recommend going here. After that we went to Leorose Sunset Beach Bar which is a bar a little north of Governors Harbor and is right on a beach. We got some food and drinks and hung out there for most of the day. I highly recommend the Cracked Conch and Conch Fritters. That night we went to Sammy's Pool bar for happy hour from 5-7 which is in Pascal's resort. Also highly recommend there as the drinks were very good and Sammy is incredibly nice. Wednesday we went to Lighthouse beach which is south and is another beach that is probably on the cover of magazines somewhere. Thursday we went sailing on Captain Bob's boat, another nice and accommodating guy. He took us to a beach that can only be accessed by boat and this beach had the best coral and fish of all the places on the island. Friday we went to the fish fry in GHB. Go to this if you have the chance enough said.

The people of Eleuthera are extremely kind. Matt, Anne, Tara, and Dina are extremely kind and the house is truly as amazing as the island is. You will not be making a mistake going here.

Stunning Property with a view that takes your breath away

  • 5 of 5

Endless Summer is absolutely beautiful. I have been all over the Caribbean and this was the nicest house I have ever stayed in both for the layout and the view. The water is incredible, shades of blue and aquamarine that change colour with the weather. We had a few blips upon arrival that were handled for us and we had rented two vehicles one of which had to be changed out a few days later but Stanton was wonderful and even delivered the replacement vehicle. There were five adults staying in the house. It was early February so the water was not bathtub warm but surprisingly it was warmer than I thought it would be. The island is extremely quiet so if you are looking for a place to party, this is not the place. 1648 just above Governors Harbor has, in my humble opinion, the best food on the island. We went there numerous times and one night just ordered all the appetizers and a bottle of wine. Great service, beautiful setting. Tippys was a good bar but we were not overly impressed by the food and the service went beyond island slow. We did an excursion up to Harbour Island where there are also some good places to eat and some veyr nice shops. The boat taxi is very quick and we rented a couple of golf carts to bop around in. We did most of our souvenir shopping on Harbour Island. Loved the dog that lives on Double Bay and visits. We did end up seeing two people on the beach, but for the most part, we were on our own and loved it. Some of the caribbean side beaches are hard to find so make sure you rent an SUV not a car if you are going to go to them. Cinnamon rolls and fresh bread are available at the Farm stand twice a week but get there at least 20 minutes before they open if you want the much sought after cinnamon rolls. Mate and Jenny pizza is great - have them make the pizza and take it home to bake yourself. Best of both worlds! We were all ready for the no see ums but the wind kept them all away and only one person had a bug bite. Shell hunting on the caribbean side of the island was quite good especially in the rocky areas. I would highly recommend Double Bay Endless Summer if you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation.
