Lee and Roxanne Dunn enjoy sharing the Log House and Cobblestone House with vacationers while living in year-round in another house on the Ranch. Lee and Roxanne grew up in Colorado, and both moved to Montana in 1989 and 1992 respectively. The Ranch is chemical free and everything is grown according to organic standards. We forage many edible and medicinal wild plants.
Lee and Roxanne Dunn purchased this cottage in 1989
Lee and Roxanne were attracted to this area because of a combination of wide open space and mountain views. The section of land that the Ranch is located has a lake and three creeks which are flowing year-round. This makes it special because it draws all sorts of wildlife.
The vacation homes on the Ranch are up to date with all the comforts of home, yet the backdrop is spectacular, with breathtaking views of the Absaroka Beartooth Mountains and wildlife passing near the houses. Guests can enjoy walks in the aspen grove, cottonwoods, grass fields, and creek bottoms. The ranch is a peaceful and a quiet place to stay and one can have as much solitude as you like. But if it is activities that you desire there are plenty of those on the ranch and nearby. Another added benefit, is the peace of mind knowing that the Ranch's owners lives on the ranch in a separate house and can assist guests, if needed.
We are next door to Tippet Rise Art Center, a 11,500 acre - one of a kind - sculpture park and classical music venue. See www.tippetrise.org for more information.
Very comfortable, if out of the way, place to stay. Lots of animals, wild and domestic, so be careful when driving here! We saw tons of deer, several pairs of cranes as well as the cats, chickens, goats and cows that belong to the farm. Comfortable beds, everything provided, nice antique furniture and cozy, welcoming appeal.
This place had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. This was our first trip to Montana and it won't be our last. The vast rolling hills, fresh air, and wonderful food was enough to make us want to stay permanently. Roxanne and Lee are wonderful people and they do a great job of making you feel right at home.
The Cobblestone house was furnished with any and everything you needed. The view from the old farmhouse sink was all I needed every morning to make me happy - well that and a cup of coffee. The house is furnished w/ many antiques and it makes you feel like you are taking a trip back in time. My husband and I loved the farm animals greeting us every morning (chickens, goats, turkeys, and cats) and feeding them our scraps left over from the night before.
My husband and I stayed at the Cobblestone house w/ the intention of visiting Yellowstone most of our stay. Turns out the Fishtail and Absarokee (Custer National Park) area have lots of great trails to hike so we spent most of our time doing just that. We took one day off from hiking and visited a great little town called Red Lodge. If you happen to visit Red Lodge don't miss out on Mas Tacos. I consider myself a Mexican Food connoisseur and this was hands down the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. It's only too bad we discovered it on our last day.
If you are thinking of visiting the area I would highly recommend it and definitely stay w/ Roxanne and Lee at the Cobblestone House.

Our family loved the house we rented in Montana. Our girls loved the goats and chickens. The house was rustic and quaint. It really enhanced our Montana experience. The fresh eggs and honey were awesome too.
Our stay was everything we expected and more. Lee and Roxanne's hospitality was warm and welcoming. The cobblestone house provided everything we needed for comfort and happiness. The views are something to be missed and deeply desired once you leave this magical ranch.
We really liked the goats they were silly and west the dog visited me every morning he was a hoot and a half. The private lake was very nice and relaxing. The house was very cute we liked it a lot and we had everything we needed. Thank you Lee and roxanne. We will definantly plan another stay!
My husband and I stayed a few days at the cottage house, and it was such a relaxing getaway for us! You can clearly see the mountains from the property, and it was such a great experience to wake up in the morning and see the mountain view out the kitchen window! Lee & Roxanne left us some honey and eggs as a gift from their farm, which was very welcoming and homey for us. Lee showed us around the property and we had a great time! Would recommend this location to anyone looking for a Montana getaway!
