Overview

Santa Fe Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Beautiful modern mountain cabin with all high end amenities INSIDE national forest.

Summer and Winter wonderland!

The home is all on one level - no stairs of any kind (except the exterior stairs down to the hutub) King bed in the master and two queen beds in the guest rooms - all plush pillow top beds.

Awesome master bath with giant cast iron tub, perfect for two if you don't feel like sitting in the hot tub :-)

Extreme privacy - this is one of the only properties like this in the Santa Fe area - a true mountain paradise get away, yet so close to town.

Out door enthusiasts will love it here, bring your mountain bikes in the summer and your cross country ski's in the winter, ski right out the front door!

The home has ample deck and patio space overlooking the creek and hot tub, perfect for out door entertaining.

Cool temps in the summer when downtown is hot! Encantado resort is right down the road for world class dining and spa services.

There is a 2 mile dirt road to the property and the last 1/2 mile is a little bumpy and it can get muddy or snowy depending on the weather...

Please note that an SUV or all wheel drive vehicle may be preferable in case of inclement weather, especially winter months when a 4x4 is needed.

About Brian Bodei

My name is Brian and I have lived in this paradise for over 17 years and now its time to share.

Brian Bodei purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Brian Bodei chose New Mexico

This is the only location thats this close to Santa Fe, inside the national forest, on a stream that affords total privacy and high quality of living. I feel so blessed to have been able to live up here all these years. I can never get over how beautiful Pacheco Canyon is!

What makes this cabin unique

This home was designed by and award winning designer - no boring architecture here. The home was planned to feel like the outdoors and indoors were one, and I truly think we succeeded. Sitting by the creek, watching the humming birds, having margaritas on the deck - or in the hot tub. Mountain biking and skiing right out the front door - endless miles of hiking and exploring, watching the birds - it never gets old! The only problem with staying up here is that you will not want to leave....Santa whaa?

Outstanding

  • 5 of 5

This was our third trip to this wonderful cabin. It's always clean and well maintained. The weather was perfect and our family of 6 adults enjoyed the outdoor patios, with Blue Jays and Humming Birds everywhere. It always a pleasure dealing with Brian, the owner. He is always helpful when needed for anything!

We look forward to booking our next stay here again, while in Santa Fe.

Wonderfully Private Getaway in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

We planned a family reunion for our grown children over a week in August at this house. Everyone loved the house - it is so functional yet so beautiful, with lovely furniture and fixtures, and overflowing with art work that gives it a unique beauty. The studio (a separate structure from the house) was especially convenient for our gang, as we put one couple there and each of the other children got their own rooms. We love to cook and share long meals with lots of wine when we get together and we found the kitchen very well stocked - plenty of pots and pans, good knives, etc. We were able to really enjoy the presence of the stream that runs by the house - we kept the sliding doors open almost continually to enjoy the water music. The deck was the perfect place to do yoga, surrounded by trees, being dive-bombed by hummingbirds, and listening to the water rushing downhill. We hiked, we played board games, and just relaxed. Everyone agreed that the house was unique and special.

We were unlucky enough that our week's stay included rain almost every day, and real downpours a few times during the week, which brings me to the only downside to renting here - the road. Other people have mentioned this in their reviews, but I will add my bit because our family was there during the most unusual and challenging weather one could imagine. We had tickets to the Opera 4 nights, and the trip up and down the road made our evening rides a little more stressful than I had bargained for. Of course, we were in a minivan, so the quality of handling was not high to begin with, but the road was pretty potholed with deep puddles and it did give us some moments of worry.

But considering everything, I still want to rate this a 5 star experience - I think that most of the year the road is probably much better than it was for us, and even with the extra time and vigilance needed to drive it, we still had an absolutely wonderful stay in this beautiful place.

I also want to praise Brian for being very responsive, communicating clearly, and providing such a lovely home for our vacation. He was delightful.

The cabin did not disappoint! We had everything we could possibly need as well as unmatched views. The hummingbirds were amazing. The road was a challenge, but worth the bumps.

Great house!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 adults had a delightful week-long stay at this fabulous house. If you enjoy a peaceful spot away from the hustle and bustle of city life this place is for you. it has many high-end amenities, but is very family friendly. Brian, the owner, stocks the kitchen, baths, and bird feeders with plenty of necessities. The hummingbirds are so much fun to watch. We also had a visit from a bobcat one morning. Be sure to bring plenty of food and drinks as the local grocery store is quite expensive, but the restaurant there is great. One of the best places we visited was Roswell. Do plan on a full day visit to see everything.

Enjoy your visit. We sure did.

Really Lovely

  • 5 of 5

My grown family of 7 stayed in this lovely cabin for a long week earlier this summer. It was perfect! Brian was extremely attentive. The cabin is gorgeous....well appointed and fun to hang out and cook in. We had great access to trails, rock climbing, historic sites (Los Alamos, cliff dwellings, Abiqui) the opera and downtown Santa Fe. I highly recommend this super nice vacation home. What a treat to find a place online that actually is as nice as it looks in the pictures!
