Our stay was wonderful, the house was so beautiful. The house was fully stocked. We felt right at home!
WE'VE BEEN HOME LESS THAN 24 HOURS AND WANT TO GO BACK! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - thank you, Andrew! The house is absolutely immaculate - beautiful floors throughout, with excellent interior and natural lighting. The decor is tasteful and lovely, and there are so many fantastic seating areas and "zones" to hang out in, you have to really work to make time for each area! The house has a very open feel and a great flow, and we were delighted to find sharpened Chefs knives and a blender for use in the beautiful kitchen! All the bathrooms were clean with plenty of soap, shampoo/conditioner, plus some lovely local hand soaps that smelled amazing! Plenty of towels in each bathroom, plus plenty of beach towels for use from the laundry room (and having a washer/dryer to use during our stay was fantastic). The upstairs bedroom has its own lanai that looks out onto the golf course, plus an enormous walk-in closet. The master bedroom downstairs has direct access to the jacuzzi from its sliding glass doors, plus a walk-in closet, and 2 full vanity sinks and a double shower in its bathroom. The other downstairs bedroom has direct access from its sliding glass doors to my favorite lanai at the house (and the largest) - the lower lanai looking out onto the golf course. It does not have a walk-in closet, but it does have a very large bureau/dresser and its own bathroom (also very nice), and there was extra hanging closet space in the office that could be used for those staying in this room. Bottom line - no matter which bedroom you end up in, you won't be disappointed because they all have their special "perks" and amazing views. You also won't miss A/C - there is great cross-breeze through all the windows, plus overhead fans and plenty of floor fans provided (I think at least 1 in each bedroom). We loved playing ping-pong in the garage, and would have played corn-hole, too, if we hadn't used up all our energy at the beach! It was awesome having some goggles and water shoes to borrow from the house, and with the beach so close, it was a breeze to get over there and rent additional equipment (longboards) from the St. Regis for the day. Andrew stopped by early on in our trip and could not have been nicer - he had some great suggestions and knows the island so well! We took him up on his suggestion about Bar Acuda restaurant nearby, and had a wonderful meal there. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place and want to come back again as soon as we can!
This house is as described in the VRBO listing - absolutely BEAUTIFUL. We enjoyed having access to bicycles and had fun playing ping pong, corn hole (bean bag toss game) and the use of boogie boards, snorkeling gear and chairs. There were also ample outside sitting areas to read, relax and visit. Andrew our host couldn't have been nicer. The rice cooker in the kitchen wasn't working and we let Andrew know about it. A new one was brought over that same day! We also appreciated the little things like nice soap and shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped (we ate in most days) and it was really nice to have staples like salt, soy sauce and other "basics" in the cupboards. It takes SO much energy to plan for a vacation. At this rental we could totally relax and enjoy our stay. We felt so lucky to have found this place. The waterfall and koi pond were beautiful but were our only complaints - the over splash from the waterfall kept the deck in that area in a constant wet state. Not a big deal unless you have 89 and 92 year old parents who are not as stable as they used to be! The koi pond also attracted bull frogs. Some of us had our sleep disturbed by their loud nightly noises. Fortunately we had brought ear plugs!!
The location of this house was perfect for us. We had easy access to many beautiful beaches. It was a short jaunt into Princeville if we needed something from the Foodland. It is also very close to Hanalei with its cute shops and eateries and beautiful Hanalei Bay beach.
On the tropical side of Kauai's North Shore this home is suited to family. With full King and media room upstairs and a second master downstairs, it gives privacy while separating Kitchen and living areas for early risers and late night snackers. The lanai between these areas features a koi pond where cool breezes can be enjoyed at the patio table. The washer/dryer are huge, making laundry convenient. Ping-Pong table was quite popular with our group, and a good variety of games available under the living room table. You can access the beach by walking straight down the street and through the Hanalei Bay Resort past the tennis courts.
This house is set along the fairway which gives the back yard great views and an open feeling. We used the air mattresses for the teenagers and they worked out well, (with automatic pump) they were easy to set up. The only drawback is the third bedroom downstairs has no closet and pedestal sink. The wardrobe requires your clothes stay folded and the lack of shelving or counter space in the bath makes storage challenging. If it were not for that, I would give this home a 5 star rating. I would go back and would recommend to others. Andrew is very responsive.
Queens Bath,Hideaway Beach, & sunset ocean views are also close by. Shop at Costco, or Walmart for best prices. Foodland nearby has everything, but higher prices.
I had considered Poipu for the vacation and am so glad we instead choose the North Shore. It is far more beautiful on this side of the island. Tunnels, Ke'e, Hanalei Bay, Lydgate and Anahola are all fantastic! It is only 2 hours max to drive around the island to the Waimea Canyon turn off. So we did the Canyon which is multiple turn outs in the car and later the beach on the east side, all in one day. A helicopter trip is a great way to orient yourself to the island and highly recommended.
Our three generation family vacation was fabulous! The house was perfect for us.
The house was well situated near beaches. We were able to fairly easily walk to the one at the end of the street, although we carried a too much stuff. Several others (like our favorite Anini) was a quick car ride away.
We stopped at Costco on the way in and loaded up with basics and the rest of our needs were easily met with a quick stop at the local store - and while we were there - the BEST shaved ice or ice cream on the Island (in our humble opinion).
The house had very nice appliances including a rice cooker and double sided waffle maker. All appliances were in great working condition- including a very valued washer and dryer. The home had a nice layout -with two good sized master suite, a junior suite and a spare room that had plenty of air mattresses. There were games to play and plenty of tv (which we rarely watched). The garage had ping pong, bikes, and miscelaneous helpful things including a great barbecue which was easy to use and propane provided. We had one small problem with shades and it was immediately fixed. Andrew was very helpful, friendly and gracious and gave us good local tips. We highly recommend!
The only slight negative was morning noise- from the golf course mowing, the famous Kauai roosters, and the loud CaneFrog in the Koi pond. But it just got us going earlier for our fun adventures!
Everything worked out perfectly with this beautiful waterfall Villa! Andrew from start to finish was great to work with and we will return!!! Only been gone for a few days and need to go back!
