You will feel at home in this neighborhood. Great neighbors, great restaurants, and it's very safe. This is an old neighborhood, filled with the energy of youth. This apartment is so close to the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospital, and Case Western Reserve University that you can literally walk there. Unbelievable Italian restaurants within blocks. 3 minute drive to Cleveland Clinic.
The area has the energy of youth, and the wisdom of age all in one place.
This apartment was far more interesting than a hotel! It is clean and very eclectic in its decorations (we loved the leg lamp!). My husband and son enjoyed looking through the huge collection of vinyl records. The location was perfect for us - a short walk to both our son's dormitory at CWRU and Little Italy. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Cleveland.
Cute house lovely neighborhood lots to do around town love the little family Italian restaurants.!
Perfect location in Little Italy. Very short walking distance to great restaurants and shops. Found it very easy to find parking right in front of the house. Short 5-minute drive to Cleveland Clinic, which was why we were in town. Can’t wait to go back again. Would recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in the area.
My husband and I stayed here while my father was having and recovering from open heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic (CC). The surgery went great (5 stars to CC, too), so we were able to enjoy nearby sight seeing as well as checking in at the hospital regularly. I highly recommend this rental in Little Italy.
It's the ground floor of a duplex. (Little Italy #2 is upstairs.) There are only 5 steps up with a sturdy handrail. We used the supplied pass to park just across the street all week. Two washing machines and two dryers are located downstairs in the basement.
Adam, the owner, is extremely responsive. We had an issue with the Wi-Fi. He came to fix it right away, quickly replacing the router when it appeared to be failing.
The home is perfectly clean. I am allergic to dust and mold and had no issues whatsoever. The floors are mostly hardwood, with just a little carpet in the smaller bedroom. The wood floor is a bit uneven, so be aware that if you are unsteady on your feet, you will need your cane or walker to get around inside.
The home has a wonderful, comfortable feel. It's a calm place.
The oven and stove worked perfectly. The refrigerator is so nice to have. Be prepared to handwash dishes since there is no dishwasher. Not an issue at all for us, but sharing in case someone is planning to clean up after a big meal.
Murray Hill Grocery is close by and just wonderful. In addition to a daily selection of prepared foods, they have a wide array of staples, from milk and eggs to wine and olive oil.
Little Italy is wonderful to walk around at all times. We've been advised by locals at the museums not to walk around the museum and hospital neighborhoods after dark.
If you likewise are visiting because someone is in CC, this guide may be helpful in planning your self-care: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/ccf/media/Files/patients-visitors/main-campus-amenity-guide.pdf?la=en. An indoor track and swimming pool are available for free for those with patients in the hospital. Plus more including art therapy and chair massages.
Be aware that Cleveland Clinic food is awful--not just in its taste and poor preparation, but also in what is nutritionally appropriate for patients. My diabetic father was served pancakes and syrup for breakfast. So if your patient has diet-specific needs, Little Italy is a great place to get food to bring in that they will find appetizing and healthy.
Highly recommend this relaxing home!
This was just perfect for us. Great location...just a very short walk to some lovely restaurants and shops. The unit was super clean and welcoming with plenty of soft towels. Lots of closet spaces and full length mirrors. I loved the decor and it was fun listening to records. The kitchen had everything you could need. Adam was super responsive from the start of inquiry through our check out. My only complaint was the noise we could here from the unit above us. We will certainly be back to stay again!
Parades, Festivals, and Churches; Art Museum, Botanical Garden, Natural History Museum, Western Reserve Historical Society, Severence Hall, Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Cleveland Institute of Art; Shops, Bars, and a variety of ethnic restaurants within walking and driving distance. And local Bocce ball court just down the street, great fun during the summer months.
