East Falmouth House Rental Photos and Description

Sleeps up to 8, sidewalks straight to gorgeous beach, and a back yard await!

We purchased Hydrangea Hideaway in 2013. And entering our 4th year of rentals we are proud of how far we have come to make a great Cape Cod vacation for our renters. Each and every year we have put money back into the property to make the next year greater. This year alone returning renters will see new trim, siding, fireplace doors, a driveway big enough for 6 cars, brick patio, and even more landscaping improvements. AND in Winter 2016 we will be converting the half bath into a custom full bathroom. We believe in reinvesting in the property to continue to enhance the experience for our renters. And families, bridal parties, reunions, road race participants, musicians, and more have stayed, and once you take a look at our guest book, all have had memorable times.

Renters like our affordability and our convenience to things. Falmouth Village, Shining Sea Bike Path, which is truly a bicyclists paradise, and great pubs and restaurants have been enjoyed by our previous renters. Or catch the Island Queen to Martha’s Vineyard, our renters have used our bicycles to cycle to the Ferry landing in the past. Seven bicycles with locks are available for your convenience. Stay in this tastefully decorated home and enjoy your time away as Cape Cod can only provide. There are 4 furnished bedrooms, and 1.5 baths. But our renters agree, nothing beats taking an outdoor shower on a gorgeous summer night. The living room has a wood burning fireplace. The cozy living room is close to a full modern kitchen. Barbeque on the patio off the kitchen with a gas grill for all your summer cookouts after a great day at the beach. Walk on sidewalks 1.5 miles to Bristol Beach. Whale watching tours, restaurants, pubs, trails in the woods, biking, hiking, skating, boating, and more are all within your reach and there to make your vacation spectacular.

When our renters tell us we have thought of everything, we take great pride in that. From bed linens to a washer and dryer, two kayaks, back yard games, a lobster pot, silverware and place settings for 12 people and pots and pans to cook a feast for many. Too many things to list, but if you are intrested, drop us an email. Take a nap in our hammock, or sit out by the gardens and watch the birds at the bird feeder. We are happy when our renters are happy at our little place we like to call Hydrangea Hideaway.

Enjoyable And Relaxing Holiday

  • 4 of 5

My husband, myself and our three children ages 10, 12, 14 enjoyed our stay at Hydrangea Hideaway. There was so much to do at the house after a long day of exploring and or the beach. My family really enjoyed playing ladder ball, horse shoes, sipping drinks on the patio and my husband sneaking off to the hammock for nap. The backyard is a nice size for kids and it's partially fenced. Inside they also had games, we played Jenga nightly and the kids roped us into a Guess Who game. The house was nicely stocked with all that you need, I think they will be adding a blender, but b/c of the great communication, we knew ahead of time and was able to bring our own. The outside shower was a great hit with my girls, both utilized it. They recently updated one of their bathrooms and it was so nice! The floor is nonslip, I tried to slide on it to see if it would be suitable for my father for next year, it is! I wouldn't feel uncomfortable or nervous that he would slip and fall. There is even a little seat that if someone needed to sit and shower they could easily, all perks to this home. If you fancy a bath after a long day out, the main or upstairs bathroom has a traditional tub, which again, my girls utilized, a big perk is the water pressure is fantastic (a big deal for those of us with lots of hair)!

While I loved almost everything about this place, I would have one negative critic and I'd hate to do it but it's something I think needs to be addressed before I could return next year. The beds are not comfortable! The queen bed killed my back and seemed to dip in the middle. I slept on it for two nights before having to try another bed. I sorta felt like Goldilocks b/c I went bed hopping and unfortunately, none of them were up to par. I finally settled for the living room sofa which was comfortable but at my 6 ft stature, my legs needed to be bent. Unfortunately, I'm not the only one that complained about the beds and we aren't heavy people. I really hope you guys buy new mattresses b/c this is such a lovely home and great location. If you buy new ones please let us know b/c I'm ready to book for next year!

I wish I could give this home a solid 5 but b/c of not being to get a restful sleep, I had to rate it a 4. Other than the beds, I will say again, this is such a great house, location and the owners easy to work and communicate with.

Perfect family package!

  • 5 of 5

Hydrangea Hideaway is the perfect family retreat for a vacation on the fabulous Cape. The home has everything - we used the bikes almost everyday, and the fire pit was a delight - and is very comfortable and well-presented. Josh and Danielle are great hosts. We loved cycling to the beach and Shanty's for ice cream and on to Nobska Lighthouse - great coffee at the bakery in Woods Hole. We drove up to Provincetown and to Chatham, both well worth a visit. We also went to Boston for a day and to a soccer match at the Gillette Stadium - awesome! This was a great holiday, and the home was a big part of that.

Great Family Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Property is in a great location to access all the area has to offer. Kids loved the bunk beds and the basement! House had all items you could possibly need and was very comfortable. Owners take great pride in the home and property and it shows. Fire pit and outdoor shower are great. Great playground for young kids a block away.

Great yard, ample space in house--tough sleeping

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at Hydrangea Hideaway. The well-kept yard provided ample space for the 4 kids with us to run around. We enjoyed the firepit, the horseshoes, and especially the hammock. Eating outside was very pleasant.

We also had ample space inside, and the kitchen was roomy enough to prepare a few dinners for our group of 8. One night we got lobsters from the Falmouth Fish Market, and the lobster pot was big enough for all 5! There were several good books on the shelf and the sitting room was a very nice place to lounge and read after the kids were in bed. My husband is an avid gamer, and the bachelor pad was a good place for him to set up his xbox and unwind. Internet speed was fine for our purposes.

A few things: the welcome binder was very helpful, but having info about public swimming beaches would be great. We tried Old Silver Beach, but parking was a nightmare and cost $20. The best spot we found (for kids) was Grew's Pond at Goodwill Park--free parking, roped off swimming area in a warm kettle pond with a park and lifeguards. Last qualm was that most of the mattresses were very uncomfortable, enough to make it difficult to sleep.

Thanks for a great stay!

Awesome house to rent!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for a weekend gateway with some friends and we had such a blast! I'd recommend this house to anyone to rent! They supplied everything you would need in a house, the only you'd need to bring are your own clothes and some groceries! They had so many activities to do inside and outside the house! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! We will definitely be back to rent it again!
