So you're going skiing or snowboarding in the Cottonwood Canyons?
Well, no Utah winter sports adventure is complete without a comfortable stay in your own lodge paradise, featuring rustic bear/moose/elk/horse decor more reminiscent of 'Urban Ski Lodge' than 'Elk Lodge.' Your skier/snowboarders' paradise features 4 roomy bedrooms and 2 large living areas scattered throughout 3 levels, providing ample accommodations for two large families or a decent-sized group of dudes looking to relive the sins of a misspent youth.
Three and a half large bathrooms provide multiple opportunities to indulge appearance-obsessed preening teenagers while you shower alone (or with a guest) under the best water pressure north of the Equator. Enjoy a leisurely evening basking in the warmth of the fireplace under the watchful eye of our resident plaster elk or retire to the fully-finished basement playroom for an evening of family friendly boardgames or rented movies. In-laws visiting with you? Banish them to a beautiful finished basement featuring its own spacious bedroom, a large full bath and a living space all their own.
The unit is fully stocked with the makings of a great vacation, including a jetted tub in the master bathroom for soothing tired muscles or hosting romantic interludes and a spacious hottub on the deck outside so you can experience that authentic 'Hottub Time Machine' experience that brought you to the mountains in the first place.
The Rustic Spring Retreat puts you right in the thick of Utah ski culture, with a handy UTA bus stop within walking distance of the townhouse and a park-and-ride lot right across the street. Shopping, restaurants and other services are all conveniently located within just a few miles of the complex.
The Cottonwood Canyons feature Year Round Fun: The Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood Canyons are in the Wasatch National Forest range and are home to winter sports destinations Brighton, Solitude, Alta and Snowbird. During the winter months, these four ski areas boast the lightest, fluffiest snow on earth. Only 40 minutes away from Salt Lake City International Airport, the canyons offer family-friendly day skiing and riding for all ages and levels. The Park City resorts, including The Canyons and Deer Valley are a short hop, skip and jump from the condos and are easily reachable within 45 minutes to 1 hour drive. Summertime activities, including hiking, mountain biking, camping and rock climbing are also available in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons and surrounding areas. Additionally, the mountain resorts host many art, music and nature events throughout the summer for locals and visitors alike.
I am an avid skier and traveler and have enjoyed visiting destinations around the world and living 'like a local' while there. These experiences inspired me to become a vacation home owner. I love owning vacation properties in places I like to travel because it's a cool business that provides lifestyle dividends!
Deb purchased this townhome in 2012
I had been looking for several years for a property in this particular complex because not only is it close to my favorite resort in the world (Alta), it also features a good mix of full-time owners and vacation home owners. The vibe of the neighborhood is great, and the townhome itself just screams 'ski vacation.'
The Rustic Spring retreat is unique in that it is set up for two families to easily share the space. With two king bed rooms and two full bathrooms on the top floor and a kids' 'bunk room' plus the large, tastefully finished basement 'apartment' there's plenty of room to spread out!
The three level home made it possible to have privacy but with a large open main level we had plenty of space to gather and enjoy each other. We spent Christmas here so we brought our tree and Santa brought lots of presents but even with the added items we didn't feel cramped. The kitchen is well equipped so we cooked most of our meals at the house. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and made us feel right at home. We had a very enjoyable time and would definitely come back again.
This condo is nicer in person than shown in the pictures! Beyond basic amenities, it is comfortably furnished and beautifully decorated! You can't beat the location either.
This really was the perfect house and location. Equidistant (25 min) between Airport, Canyons and the Cottonwood Heights ski hills (Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton) which made it super convenient for all. The house itself was extremely well stocked (kitchen had everything you need and some leftover spices from previous stays) and more than enough room for the 6 of us (can definitely sleep up to 10). All of the beds were comfortable. You have to bring your own shampoo/conditioner/bar soap, but otherwise hair dryer, curling iron, flatiron and plenty of towels are there. The hot tub was a great bonus - also very clean and the perfect temperature in a good location off of the basement deck. Deb was very informative in her directions and hospitality notes, which made getting to the house and navigating the house very easy. Highly recommend you to stay here and hope we'll be back one day!
This house is great. Easily fit 6 adults and 3 kids. Comfortable living and sleeping arrangements. Easy drive to Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood Canyons. Plenty of places to eat after skiing. Everything about this location was perfect for skiing in the area. Definitely plan to stay here again.
Deb's place is killer! It's in a great location, perfectly set against the foothills and close to the entrances of both Big and Little Cottonwood canyons. So if you want to hit Alta/Snowbird one day, then Solitude or Brighton the next, it's an easy and quick drive from Deb's place.
Her place is very comfortable and well equipped to handle a nice size group. We had 8 adults in for about 5 days, and we all had plenty of room to stretch out and be quiet or hang in the living room and kitchen and have fun.
I will definitely book this place again when I head back to snag some more of that great Utah powder!
We just spent 4 days in this condo and leave very satisfied. We love snowboarding at Snowbird and Brighton and the condo's location makes it easy to get to either mountain. The condo itself is well laid out and very comfortable. It was fantastic ton come back every evening, recover in the hot tub and relax in front of the fire after making dinner in a well-equipped kitchen. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and welcoming after a long day on the slopes. If there had to be a complaint, it would be that the garage is on the small side so don't expect to park a large SUV in it. Also, it would have been helpful to have a garage opener. Otherwise, these were very minor "complaints" and overall, our stay was terrific.
Four bedroom, three and a half bathroom, two story Townhome is nestled conveniently between Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood Canyons, putting you at less than 10 miles to each of four famous resorts, including Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude. The property is located 15 miles from downtown Salt Lake City. And Park City, The Canyons and Deer Valley resorts are only 25-31 miles away on I-80.
