Great location on a gorgeous lake. It's wonderful to hear the sounds of the loons. Large lot surrounded by trees provides very nice privacy. House has three floors so a group can spread out if they'd like - or all gather in the living room and lake facing balcony. Walk out basement has a bedroom, living room, 3/4 bath for teens to have their own area. Hacker's Hill, a quick drive away, has wonderful 360 degree views all the way to Mount Washington in VT.

My family and I stayed at this cottage and we LOVED IT! We have taken numerous vacations at Bar Harbor, Boothbay, Rockport, Portland and Belfast shorelines, as well as the Rangeley (Maine) Lake region. This one beats them all. There were many things that made our stay memorable and happy. The log-cabin feel to the cottage adds the rustic charm and everything is clean and well maintained. The cottage is large enough for two families, allowing our daughter “her own space”. The view from the cottage must be one of the very best along the entire lake. On the right-side is the uninhabited shore of the opposite side of the little cove for a cozy feel. On the left-side you can see across the entire lake providing the panoramic view. These two different views from the cottage porch or windows are terrific as you look through trees. Thanks to that shade, one cannot even see the cottage from the lake which provides perfect privacy. The place is quiet too. We loved the moon light shimmering off the lake at night. A light breeze coming off the lake was enough for small waves to lap along the shore making a serene sound. Although we enjoyed nearly perfect weather, we appreciated the books and games in the basement, just in case we did not feel like getting out onto the lake or exploring the area. We enjoyed an immensely relaxing, quiet, and nearly private stay at this wonderful cottage and will definitely be returning here every year assuming it remains available for stays.
We had a fantastic time at this lake front cottage with my two boys, age 10 and 7.
This is our first time vacationing on this lake (though we have rented many other vacation homes in the past). The log cabin has a very charming rustic feel to it that put us immediately into vacation mode. We felt like we were in the middle of a forest with all the big trees all around us. We couldn't really see any other houses from the cottage and had a nice view of the lake through the trees!
The place is also very safe for children. My two boys had a lot of fun just running around the cottage and checking out the surroundings around the cottage. They went canoeing, swam, and had camp fires nearly every day!
We loved it so much that we are definitely coming back next year. We also left a few water guns and kids' CDs at the cottage so we can use next year and/or for others to enjoy!
Don't miss the lobster at Bob's Seafood (eat there or order for pickup & bring back to the cabin)!
We will be back next year!
We have been to over a dozen different cottages over the years and this one ranks among our top picks. The water was clear. You can see 10' deep right off the end of the dock. The power boating was limited but it did exist so it was fun to watch the skiers and tubers yet still comfortable to kayak right across the middle of the lake. We spent most of the week in the kayaks and only saw about 60% of the shore line so the lake was plenty big enough. There were several loons which were always fun to see and hear. The neighbors were friendly. Everyone was always waving as you passed. The cottage was great too. Everything was clean and neat. Some cottages we felt we had to do a full cleaning before we got settled in. Certainly not the case here. There was plenty of room for the four of us. It was fairly secluded, meaning you could see the neighboring houses through the trees but certainly felt isolated. We would always know where to point the kayaks when heading back to shore because it was the area of the shoreline that you could not see a house. There were two minor issues that needed addressing during our stay and both were handled immediately. The overall impression we had, was the owners and realty company wanted nothing to prohibit us from having a wonderful time. On top of that the owners delivered a delicious Red Raspberry Pie for the minor inconveniences. Tastefully done. This was absolutely one of those places you did not want to leave. We look forward to returning in the future.
