Bev, we made it back to Florida after donating $165 to the Great State of Texas (no ideal where that trooper came from). Wanted to give credit where it's due. U have a great home in a really great location. A very, very, nice back yard and the pool was fantastic in the 111 degree temp's. Your home is beautiful! As with any rental there's always a need for a little TLC. Celling fans need a little attention, master bedroom fan is very loud (compensated with the box fan), and the one in the smaller bedroom was really slow so we didn't use it. But as we discussed in our texting "There was nothing that we ran across that wasn't Do Able". Again, Great Price, Great location, and one fantastic home. Thanks for sharing your home with my family!
This home was beautiful! Very clean. Noted the description of home said it was a 4 bed room and it was a three bedroom, also was one story vs.two story in description. My Family was very comfortable and enjoyed this home , will definitely come back . Be advised one should have transportation due to strip is further than anticipated. costly on cab fare or Uber.
Starting with the positive: location is great, great features: large kitchen , backyard, plenty of patio furniture. Décor downstairs is great.
The owner was flexible and allowed us to check out late.
Unfortunately we encountered many problems, some of them we found serious enough to have affected the quality of our vacation.
First was the pool heating. We live in a cold climate zone, so enjoying an outdoor pool in March was one of the reasons we chose this house. The pool heat wasn't working when we arrived. We informed the owner immediately - via email as the owner did not pick up any of my calls, or responded to text messages (voicemail box full). After a second email asking about the status I received an acknowledgement (email) 24h later - that the pool maintenance has been contacted.
Two evenings with unusable pool.
45h later pool maintenance still hasn't showed up. I expressed my disappointment to the owner (via email , calls not answered). Maintenance shows up aprox 48h hours later - finds the problem, they don't fix it but explain us how to get the heater going anyway. Evening is not enough to heat up the pool (needs 12h).
Three evenings with unusable pool.
Next day some of us were heading out for a side trip to Grand Canyon. An elder member of the party with another adult would stay at the house and we were planning staying in touch via the house phone. Too bad it wasn't working. So we changed our plans, paid for another hotel room two nights and took an elder to Grand Canyon.
Back from Grand Canyon, went straight outside to turn on the heater. The pump case blows up. Called the owner (no answer), emailed.
Four evenings with unusable pool.
Pump fixed next day, again pool still cold by evening.
Five evenings with unusable pool.
In one week stay we were able to enjoy the pool half day on the last day. The owner has provided some compensation for the pool heater problems. I wish she spent those $ on getting fast service with the pool maintenance.
- non-functional: alarm system , TV in one bedroom, fridge water/ice dispenser, one AC outlet, toilette stall fan
- plenty of burnt light bulbs (3 lamps, ceiling lights);
- backyard door was very hard to open/close (bent track)
- leaking shower
- missing drawer in one bathroom
Problems can appear in any rental house. The expectations are the owner has an answer service (phone) and reliable contractors on speed dial. Who work weekends. These expectations were not met here.
We had a great time in Vegas and the stay at the rental was clean relaxing and enjoyable. Everything you need is there. We left our pool and spa time, waiting to her from Bev. Once the pool was heated it lasted a couple of days. My only complaint beds are to hard for my liking. However it was so nice to not be in a hotel setting. Thanks would do again!
The location is good and the house was clean. I did read the reviews before booking and wrote the negative ones off thinking those people were just too picky - I shouldn't have. When we arrived, there was a problem connecting to the WIFI. I called Bev and left a message on her voicemail. When a few hours passed without hearing from her, I called again. She then returned my call, answered our question and apologized for the delay because she was in London and it was the middle of the night there. Everything was alright (although a lot of little issues like dead batteries, light bulbs, and constant dog barking from the neighbors' homes) from that time until the day before we left when the A/C stopped working. We came home to find the house at 82 degrees, hotter upstairs in the bedrooms. I tried calling Bev, got her voicemail which said the mailbox was full and not accepting more messages. So I emailed her. Didn't hear back from her for 20 hours, several hours after our scheduled departure.
My wife and I own an Inn ourselves and understand that mechanical problems do occur at the worst possible times. When that happens, we make some sort of concession to our guests for their inconvenience. We were quite surprised that Bev made no concession offer to us. She simply stated that we should have slept with the windows open. Well, we couldn't because she doesn't even have screens on most of them.
Bottom line - the house was alright, but they way we were treated when there was a major breakdown was completely unacceptable. We travel to Vegas about 3 times a year on business and will certainly never stay in one of Bev's properties again.
We stayed here for 9 days in late April, early May 2015. Our group consisted of 4 adults, and 3 kids ages 2-10. We quite enjoyed the house, but there were a lot of items that needed attention in this otherwise lovely house. The house and it's belongings could be great, with just a bit of TLC, but it seems that much of that is missing. The dishwasher flies open, the carpets on the stairs desparately need shampooing, the coffee table is coming apart, the frying pans are in terrible shape, the pool toys were all broken and should have been in the trash, there were very few teaspoons, the single beds were in terrible shape--I couldn't believe my kids could sleep on them, and the bbq was out of propane (and we didn't want to use our valuable vacation time up buying more, although Bev said she would reimburse us). Also, there was no trash can in the main floor bathroom, the broiler on the oven didn't seem to work, the microwave was cracked, the main floor soap dispenser leaks, the curtain rod out to the patio looked like it was about to fall-off, etc...
That said, the master bedroom and everything in it were in great shape. The patio furniture was great. There were lots of pantry supplies, and there was a great supply of dishes, bath towel, and pool towels.
We took a long time to post this review, as it took months for Bev to return our deposit, and I didn't want to post this until it was returned. She indicated that the delay was because we hadn't left the pool and spa heat record (we had).
I probably wouldn't stay here again, but depending on your needs it could be good. I'd say, it would probably work well for a group of young people for the weekend.
