About Esther Dennis

My wife and I decided to buy and renovate this home after being drawn in by its scenic views and nearby creek. The wrap around porch was what sold us - we could see for miles and the seasons always give us a new view. Our children really enjoy exploring the nearby hiking trails and waterfalls. We try to provide as much as possible in the vacation homes because we don't like packing! So there are a lot of amenities in our vacation homes you might not find when renting from other people. We hope you enjoy the Lady Bug House as much as we do!

Why Esther Dennis chose Asheville Area

We love hiking and enjoying the scenic views of the mountains, so we decided to purchase a rental property in Hendersonville (Bat Cave), NC. It is great for escaping from the summer heat and also visiting during winter to see the snowfall in the mountains. We're centrally located close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, downtown Hendersonville, and a short drive to Asheville, NC. Being close to these locations gives us a lot of options when we travel.

What makes this house unique

Staying at the Lady Bug House offers our guests access to things they might not get at other vacation homes, like an air hockey gaming center, wii station setup, satellite tv, and other electronics that keep kids happy. We also have fishing rods available for the more adventurous guests. We want your trip to be memorable and fun!

An excellent house with beautiful surroundings!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancee and I had a joint bachelor/bachelorette weekend here outside of Asheville. The house was amazing, everything was clean and inviting. The kitchen is really large and full of new appliances that came in really useful when cooking a large breakfast for everyone. The views outside surrounding the house was gorgeous. It's a little far from Asheville if you're planning a lot of activities down town, but its right beside Chimney Rock and Lake Lure if you're looking for a more natural setting. The owner's provided us with everything we needed for a wonderufl weekend.

Amazing house for a family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about the Ladybug house! Great location, terrific accommodations, owners were very responsive prior to our visit and everything was so well laid out for us that we had no need to contact the owners during our stay. Great kitchen, laundry facilities and fabulous deck! We would definitely recommend this house--exceptional value!

Beautiful house in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed this bright and spacious home in the mountains. We had 12 in our group. Kitchen was HUGE with plenty of space for multiple cooks and helpers, the bar and dining area were superb with very good seating in the living room area. Nice decking all around outside with some spectacular mountain views. Downstairs the first floor was great family room space, sofa, tv, table/chairs, wet bar. Downstairs bathroom is absolutely huge! I did find that a couple of the "6" bedrooms are little awkward. Our group made it fit, but it could be a bit awkward for some family groups. The one bedroom downstairs is actually 2 bedrooms with a wide connecting door space but there is no door, so no privacy. Also you have to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the other bedroom. That's fine for a parent/children combination, but 4 adults are most likely not going to share those two bedrooms. My suggestion would be to use the separate game room on that level as a regular bedroom it's spacious enough for a king or two beds and it has a closet and a door that closes for privacy. Move the game room into the family room. Another of the bedrooms upstairs looks like it's an office or den and has a futon, not a regular bed. Futon's are ok for younger folks, but our group consisted mostly of older adults, the futon's good for a couple nights sleep then it get's uncomfortable. Suggest putting a regular bed in that room also! Two bedrooms had two beds in each of them, looked like double bunks but have been separated, I can see this working for parent/children combinations also. The driveway is very steep, the stairway to main floor is lengthy, so if there are mobility issues in your group, be forewarned. Oh! we discovered the dumb waiter after hauling all our stuff up the stairs! I think that ought to be a nice thing to put out there right at the beginning of the description of this house! It became very helpful and useful for loading and unloading. Other than that, our group of older adults made it work and we enjoyed our stay in this mountain house.

What a gorgeous home and beautiful area, we loved staying there for a week. No real complaints, everything was just like we read on VRBO and the reviews. I wish my kitchen at home was as nice as this kitchen!
