Best time of our lives!!
This place is incredible!! Perfect location, lovely community and people. I would highly recommend this villa the owner was wonderful very prompt when i had questions. I can’t wait to return. Can’t thank Martha enough for opening her home to us.
So glad y’all had a good time. Enjoyed sharing our little piece of paradise with you.
Wonderful location! Very private.
First time to Treasure Cay! We’ll definitely go back. All the little details that were provided prior to our arrival were very helpful. Taxi service & rates, golf cart rental, restaurants, etc. Wi-Fi worked well & plenty of tv channels for rainy mornings. The villa is perfectly appointed with beach towels & coolers plus much more. We used a small cooler for water on a trip to Marsh Harbor. Decor was comfortable & welcoming. King size bed was comfortable & we slept like babies! Super quiet development where everyone seemed a little older & very friendly. Pool is super close & beach is right down the path.
We had such a wonderful time & we were grateful to book for 10 days. By the 2nd day, we knew we’d be back. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. We rarely saw more than 6 other people at the beach & easily found a beach hut every time we wanted. Villas have a very private beach with beach lounges. I recommend a golf cart if you want to visit other beaches & gorgeous beach homes. Owner was very quick to respond to questions & an on-site manager was there to greet us & accommodate our departure time with her cleaning schedule. Easy breezy check-in, golf cart was delivered & waiting for us. We’ve been to a lot of great places & islands but Abaco is our new favorite. We don’t love resorts because of too many people & activity & kids. This villa is a perfect place to relax, rejuvenate & recharge.
I did cook a few meals & breakfasts, grocery store is across the street. There aren’t a lot of options for fine dining but the beach/pool bars offer special menus almost every night. Liquor store is next to the grocery store & we didn’t find rum to be expensive. We also didn’t drink much & left the bottle for the next guests! June starts storm season but we had great weather May 16-26th. I’d love to return in the Fall for lobster season! We took a day trip to snorkel the Mermaid Reef in Marsh Harbor. It’s a swim-to reef off the beach & it was amazing. Green Turtle Cay was an awesome day trip. The ferry takes you there. Do your research- there’s lots of little islands to visit & I think you could visit Treasure Cay for many years & have plenty of places to visit. No one is in a hurry here but everyone smiles & waves all the time.
Treasure Cay was a magical anniversary vacation - 19 years & counting!
Maybe we’ll get renewed on the beach for 20! We want to bring all our friends to this beautiful island paradise. Thank you Martha for having us!
Amazing spot, people and value!
We got off to a stumble when we tried to check in as our place was accidentally double booked. Martha was amazing along with Gert (with the BVOA) to rectify the situation and find us another villa right next door. Martha was very sorry and covered the cost difference. Everyone was amazing and this allowed us to meet some amazing people through the process. Overall, what an location, value and people! Bonus for us was amazing Kiteboarding! Martha’s villa is in a perfect location too, next to the poop and very close to beach! Book it!
We loved it
Perfect location! Very impressed
So glad you enjoyed your there.
A little piece of paradise!
We have just returned from our Bahamas vacation which included a 7 night stay at this villa. Although not overly fancy, it is comfortable, clean and has almost everything you need and a little extra for a great price. The only thing we were missing was an outdoor grill/bbq. The owner and caretaker were responsive to our questions and needs and easy to communicate with. The beach and pool are only steps away and the beach is amazing! During our stay it wasn't busy and you could get a beach chair at any time during the day. Treasure Cay is friendly, safe and & has all amenities close at hand. During our stay the population was mostly older adults so our 17 & 19 year old children weren't able to hang out with similar aged people but we were able to keep them busy on the beach, snorkeling, golfing and exploring the neighboring Cay's for most of the stay. My husband and I would return without a second thought!
Great escape from reality
The unit is very close to the pool and the beautiful beach and provides a comfortable stay. The wifi and the phone service were out when we were there so that gave us some trouble checking in with work and arranging activities for our stay. We weren't warned of this either, even though it was a cut line that the resort was aware of before our arrival. It did force the kids to unplug so that wasn't a bad thing. The weather was incredible most of our stay the week after Christmas. We managed to find our way to do most activities on our list, but were not able to rent boats or golfcarts this week because we didn't reserve in advance and they were sold out - surprisingly, because it never seemed busy or crowded anywhere except pizza night at Tipsy's. We rented a car and drove to Cherokee where the view from the long dock is incredible! Also visited the other keys and enjoyed more amazing beaches and cute shops and restaurants. Expect to pay almost double here what you would in the US for basic grocery items and gas, and most places to get both close early daily and all day Sundays. The few restaurants are in walking distance from the unit and have good food, but lunch is much more value for the price than dinner. As it wasn't high season yet, the restaurants weren't always open at the advertised times nor hosting the advertised weekly events (no bon fires or steak nights). The unit has some wear and tear as would be expected from an island home, but is clean and well stocked. This is not a luxury vacation, but well worth the price paid to relax and enjoy a peaceful, beautiful laid back vacation.
Treasure Cay, Bahamas is a small coastal community on the east coast of the island of Abaco in the Bahamas. Treasure Cay is approximately 165 miles due east of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States.
Their 5-star golf course has attracted PGA greats for decades. Their beaches are a well kept secret, and known locally to be superb. The big crescent beach has been voted by National Geographic to be one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches. The town of Treasure Cay consists of a bakery (Florence's-best cinnamon rolls ever), the tipsy seagull bar on the marina and cocoa bar on the big beach, a restaurant called the Spinnaker, library and general store, with accommodation for tourists on the South End Bahama Beach Club condo development. There are boats that can be chartered and great bone fishing.
The people of Treasure Cay are all very friendly, most speak English and French. Treasure Cay Airport serves the community.
The Great Abaco Family Fitness Weekend takes place in March in Treasure Cay, and consists of an open water swim, triathlons, and a 5k/10k fun run/walk. This is the premiere sporting event in Abaco and is popular with both locals and tourists alike.
