Home Away From Home

My husband and I celebrated or wedding anniversary here, but it was a family affair. We had our kids and a couple of our close friends with us. The weather was perfect, low 60's and sunny in the daytime and a little cooler by night. I loved the smell of fresh air as we walked along one of the many trails. The leaves trapped our hair.

We enjoyed, steam showers, hot tub and endless kitchen conversations. The open space and the design of the kitchen /dining room area made it easy for us to gather around and chit/chat. The home was spotless and the beds were comfortable. We slept well.

About 8 miles away, we rented pontoon boats and just relaxed and consumed nature at it's best. By the time the weekend ended, we wanted more....we should have checked in earlier...why didn't we.

What an amazing hideaway. Beautifully kept and decorated home, nestled in nature, spacious for the whole family with hot tub heavenliness.

If you love nature walks, flowing waterfalls, hanging bridges, an enclosed hammock close to the water falls but still feels like you're hanging out in the woods. Yes this is available.

Great retreat space with enough privacy nooks inside and out.

The lake is just around the corner if you'd like to spend a few hours in tranquility and view the beautiful fall changing leaves. I'm a beach girl but this lake has convinced me that I just love the open waters.

The kids did not want to leave.

Yes in the future I see myself writing books here, mom's/girls retreat here, romantic getaway here.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

We have spent 2 anniversaries at this home, and have absolutely fallen in LOVE with this location! The home is much lovelier than the pictures show. Owner is incredibly accomodating and thoughtful. Highly recommend this home!

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This home was both beautiful and spacious! We had plenty of space for the four couples that attended and found the kitchen and dining areas to be ample and well stocked. The amenities are never ending (hot tub, screened in porch with fireplace, porch by the stream with fireplace and chimney, secluded sleeping porch off the trail, multiple grills, etc. ). To top it all off both the owner and rental agency were both helpful and responsive. This home is definitely a great value for the price and I would definitely suggest it!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter gave us a 6 night stay here with them as a Christmas present. We were delighted by the idea, but also excited about the location. This "cabin" is the most well appointed, welcoming, cozy place. Everything you could possibly need, down to a fully equipped first aid kit, is thought of.

The layout is wonderful for a group of people to be together when they want and apart for some privacy as well. One of my peeves about vacation homes is that there is so much furniture and furnishings that there is no place to put suitcases, toiletries, etc. No so here. Plenty of room to spread out and lots of closet and drawer space.

Even our dog was welcome, and he loved walking outside and didn't even mind a leash. I can't say enough nice things about this place. It is comfortable without being pretentious and has every amenity you could think of.

My only hesitation about recommending this home is that too many people will want to stay here and it may not be vacant for my next vacation that I will want to spend here.

Well done, people, well done!

Excellent Retreat Location

  • 5 of 5

My group chose this place to change it up a bit in where we go every year and we were not disappointed. It was pretty well setup for us and the kitchen had way more than enough room to prepare large meals. The older people liked that it was lower on the mountain and they didn't have to make a really long trek up if they needed something. Being so close to the river was also very soothing and a short hike was also refreshing. We will most likely chose this place again. We also made use of the hot tube and the sauna. Nothing was lacking at Hemlock. We will most likely rent here again.
