Huddleston House Rental Photos and Description

4 Full Bedrooms, 2 Bunk Bedroom, 3 Bathrooms, Convertible Bed, Sleeps 10

The property name says it all! Mountain Majesty!! Without a doubt one of the most spectacular mountain views on the lake with almost 80 feet of unobstructed direct views of Smith Mountain from anywhere in the four sitting rooms at the back of this beautiful home. The home also includes a huge Florida room, full sun room, screened-in porch, and hot tub on a 1500-square-foot, double-tier deck off the back of the home that faces the mountain. There is not a thing you will be disappointed about in this home!

There is a view from every room in the house. The first floor master is massive and the ceramic master bath has a Jacuzzi tub. The laundry and two-car garage are just off the master, and the paved driveway has access all the way to the dock for easy drop off of coolers and water toys. There are many gathering rooms; living room with fireplace, family room, and two sun rooms on the main level and a family room upstairs where the other bedrooms are located.

There is also a small room upstairs with bunk beds that is separate from the two large bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped for any and all of your cooking needs. The rental also includes washer and dryer, gas grill, 6 flat panel TVs with cable/VCR/DVD. There are games, books, Cd's and an assortment of movies for your enjoyment.

The covered boat dock has electricity, lights and a hoist available for safe storage of your boat during your stay. Finally, we understand that planning for linens and towels for the whole family can be pain, so, we gladly supply them both for your convenience.

Please come and enjoy a lake experience that you will never forget. Bring your camera, make a pot of coffee, and get ready to enjoy Mountain Majesty!

Beautiful house, beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

For our Christmas getaway we decided to go to Mountain Majesty Lake House at Smith Mountain Lake. This is an amazing property in an amazing location. Be warned: It is a bit off the beaten path -- especially in December) but, of course, that is part of its charm. The view is spectacular, even in winter, and I can't even imagine how beautiful it must be in spring, summer and fall. The place is huge and is incredibly well-appointed. Books, dvds, vas tapes, games, etc. etc. -- someone put a lot of time and effort into making sure there were plenty of indoor amusements for guests of all ages. We also liked the fact that if you had come with another family (we didn't -- it was just the two of us) there are two separate floors complete with bedrooms, baths and a family living section, so you could travel with others yet still have your privacy. 2 fireplaces (one gas, the other log burning, ) a well equipped kitchen, views from practically every spot in the house and great decks to use when the weather is good. The house is also immaculately learn. And, There's a boat house -- again, something to access "in season." All communication with the home owner and the rental company was easy and friendly. We did have one small problem: We could never figure out how to open the garage door (and did not receive a garage door opener when we got keys) but I expect that was simply an oversight since we came at such an odd time of the year. Roanoke and Lynchburg are 30-40 miles away if you want to do some sightseeing. A grocery store is closer, say 8-10 miles from the house. This was a great place to visit and we hope to return one day.

Heaven on earth

  • 5 of 5

I had searched over 200 lakefront vacation rentals from PA to GA to find the perfect spot for my husbands 50th birthday vacation. When I came across the Mountain Majesty my search came to an abrupt halt.

This place is a little piece of heaven on earth! Relaxing on the super large deck and taking in the breath-taking view does the soul good. Heck, you don't even to need to be on the deck as you can see the lake and mountain from anywhere in the house! Sometimes the lake looked like it was made of glass. One night at dusk, the part of the lake closest to the house mirrored the aqua sky. I had never seen lake water look that color. It was stunning! The whole experience was so relaxing. We loved star gazing from the deck, the hot tub, or even from inside the sun-room. We could even see the milky way!

The house is set up so nice. The couches, beds and pillows and are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, dishes and utensils. The bathrooms were super clean. There are plenty of extra blankets and towels too. No complaints here!

We were there from Nov. 9th-17th and must have caught Indian summer because the weather was just perfect. The deck faces south, so there is sun on the deck all day. We used the fireplace in the living-room in the evenings and it was wonderful.

Everyone we spoke with, from the owner to the management, was very nice and helpful. I honestly feel that we could not have stayed at a lovelier place. We can't wait to go back (and we just got home!) You can't go wrong by booking this beautiful house. God bless the owners for sharing their lovely home.

Wow!!! Love it!!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Mountain Majesty the week after July 4. It was totally awesome! 10 of us plus 2 dogs had an absolutely great time! Highly highly recommend it. The pictures are exactly what you get in the view.

Mornings we watched the for burn off the lake and mountains. Days were spent swimming, fishing, eating, and relaxing. We didn't make it inside until after 9 at night since we watched the moon rise over the mountain.

All meals were taken outside since the weather was perfect. 10 of us enjoyed the great house and view. Plenty of room to spread out. The covered dock was great. One side was always in the sun and the other in the shade so we could get out of the sun if we needed to.

All bedrooms had TVs so you could go to your room and relax. Kitchen was well supplied!!! Loved the plastic dishes of different colors that we took outside for meals. Hot tub was up and running and was used every night. Steam shower in the master an added bonus.

Jet ski lift was an added bonus so that we were able to get the standups out of the water at night do we weren't loading and unloading. Plenty of parking for the 4 cars that we had.

You will not be disappointed!!!

A favorite vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

This is the third year a group of us from Washington, DC have rented the home as a mid-winter retreat. The view from the house is spectacular by itself, but the details and amenities of the house are equally wonderful: comfortable beds, ample common spaces, spacious bathrooms, a well-stocked kitchen. We keep finding small improvements and upgrades every year we go back, which are always pleasant surprises. It makes it seem homier that the owners care about the details of their home. They and Lake Retreat Properties are wonderful to work with as well! Thanks for a great vacation!

Perfect lake weekend with friends

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time at Mountain Majesty! The house is beautiful and open, with amazing views, and plenty of room for the 3 couples we had staying. I love the little nooks and crannies (downstairs lake-view gas fireplace, or the hot tub, or the outdoor/glass/covered porch, plus the upstairs and downstairs TV/movie spaces) of this place. The bedrooms were also very well-appointed, with comfortable beds.

When we arrived, the place was VERY clean, which was important to us.

A couple tips. The kitchen has a LOT of appliances, pans, utensils, etc. However, we still were glad we brought our own wok, fry pan, a couple (chefs/cooking) knives, and spices/etc. We had planned out the meals, which was very helpful. The fridge is pretty big, though we nearly filled it up for the 4 nights we were there. The oven/stove work well.

Another thing that would be a helpful improvement: there were not really any cleaning supplies available to the renters. We had dish soap and used that to wipe down the kitchen after meals, but some sort of spray disinfectant would be very helpful for a large # of people staying for a while.

In general, I would highly recommend this rental property and we hope to stay again as soon as we can.
