About the host

Having older children and now grandchildren who live out of state we often gather at central areas to reunite. Finding a home to accommodate us is difficult because there are few "family friendly" large properties available for short term rentals. Thus, we created the "Little House on the Hill" not only for our family but also for those who travel in larger groups who come to Des Moines.

Why they chose this property

We have owned this home since 2012 where my daughter, partner and grandchildren lived until 2022 when they moved out of state. We know this house inside and out and felt it would be perfect for a short term rental because of its size. The location is centrally located inside the city of Des Moines, 2 blocks from Drake University and is easy accessible from I-235

What makes this property unique

The property literally sits on a hill and it is far from being "little" boasting 2182 square feet. The layout , the furniture and other amenities have been designed for large groups. The home is comfy and cozy to entice you to sit back, enjoy and relax.
