Convenient and beautiful location
The property is wonderfully situated, near the vaporetto and also within walking distance of great restaurants and bars. The best part of Venice that I would like to be kept a secret!
Wonderfully quiet neighborhood, very attentive host, nice garden.
This was a charming place but you need to take insect spray and mosquito repellent. Each night we were woken by mosquitos buzzing us. A week after leaving I still have welt marks on my face from bites. Would consider staying there again but would arrive armed with bug spray.
Hi, We are so sorry, we didn't hear any complaints during your stay, we would have a number of suggestions! One, make sure all the screens are pulled down so the mosquitoes can't enter. Another, use low lighting after dusk. Also, we supply a number of the Vap plug-in mosquito repellant units in the apartment which work very well. You can also buy mosquito repellant at any grocery or pharmacy both very nearby. Finally, fans work wonderfully, the mosquitoes can't land.
This is a residential Venetian apartment with a garden, guests will need to take the same precautions any normal Venetian resident would take. But we are always ready to help guests resolve any problems they encounter—including the occasional mosquito!
Lovely place to stay.
This is the perfect place to stay if you want a bit of quiet and space see the sky. It is just perfect for two people. The small garden is a peacful haven. Inside the rooms are airey and nicely decorated in the Venician style. I would recommend this appartment to anyone who wants to see Venice away from the crowds (that is not to say it is too far out from the sights).
A lovely and peaceful retreat
It was lovely to stay in a real and yet peaceful location in Venice. Live like a local! Very comfortable thanks.
The Garden House
If you want glass and marble stay in a five star hotel. If you want a proper Venetian experience stay here in a five star Venetian apartment! A quiet corner of Venice, away from the crowds, but only a 30 second walk from the Madonna dell'Orto water bus stop. The apartment is warm and comfortable with pretty much everything you could want for. Even though it's on the ground floor it didn't flood, even during the highest tide (1.56m) for decades - we know - we were there!
Even though it's in Cannaregio nowhere is very far away in Venice once you've got the hang of the place. Judith was great to deal with and Nan was always on hand if we had any questions. If you don't feel like cooking there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby.
Check out 'Row Venice'. Their Gondolas are just around the corner. My wife booked a lesson for me and, while I was apprehensive at first, it was a great experience and the instructors were marvellous.
We'll be back!
This is the quintessential Venetian neighborhood, 'ben servito,' which means you can find anything from supermarkets, fresh markets, and shops for vino “al sfuso” and finer fare, to butchers to pasticcerie, from clothing and shoe to hardware stores, to bars and bàcari to notions and pharmacies.
This area of the Cannaregio sestiere also boasts some of the best and most reasonably options for dining in Venice, with a host of cafes and eateries in the city. Of course, you’ll receive our insider’s list on arrival!
Alilaguna Arancio line offers an easy 20-minute, €15 boat ride from the airport to this extraordinarily tranquil neighborhood, just around the corner from Tintoretto's original home, his church, the luminous Madonna dell'Orto, and the Jewish Ghetto. This cozy, airy apartment is handy to the Orto vaporetto stop serving Lines 4 and 5, and also to San Marcuola and the Grand Canal. Saunter to the San Sofia traghetto to be ferried to the Rialto Markets and all of San Polo, or hop the Ca d'Oro vaporetto instead.
For the actively inclined, just down the fondamenta Gasparini is the starting point for Row Venice Venetian rowing lessons.
