Owner / Property Manager purchased this house in 1978
I rented the cabin for a guys weekend hiking trip and we had a great time. The owner and property manager were both very responsive and helpful during our stay. 10/10 would rent again.
Great location, eclectic decor, all the amenities you need for a great stay! Including an amazing kitchen, great BBQ and three fireplaces.
I love the cabins with character and this cabin has a lot of that. The kids very much enjoyed it.
As a bonus, it was nice to have a two car garage to park in.
Only complaint, the lighting in the house was poor; it was tough to read a book at night or play cards. We had to move a plugin lamp around to get better lighting.
We were a group of six adults, five kids and two dogs. We really couldn't have been any happier. So much space and lots of activities and games for the adults and kids. Private beach club access a great plus. Kitchen was phenomenal and a wonderful room attached for breakfast as well as a separate dining room. Great location as well. Morning coffee on the massive deck was perfect way to start each day. Just minutes from several stores and restaurants. The owners really created a home for multiple families to enjoy quality time together.
This house is lovely, with a lot of character and fun things to do. The game room is fantastic, the living room is very cozy and enjoyable, and the balconies are great for sitting out on summer nights. The kitchen is also wonderful, with a restaurant quality stove / oven / griddle and lots of spices / cooking oil etc.
Only small drawback for us -- and we knew it going in -- was that the master bedroom (third floor) is open to the living room, with no way to make it private. There's a curtain you can pull, but it doesn't curve all the way around, so if you want to go to sleep up there while friends are still awake in the living room, it will be noisy and light. Also, the tub is quite shallow, so not ideal for bathing.
Those are the only minor quibbles, though. Our group of 7 had a fantastic time, and the owners / caretakers were very responsive to our questions. They made it easy to access the place and provided lots of great info before we even got there. Highly recommended for a weekend away.
Unfortunately, our stay was cut short due to an emergency with one of our children. For the one night there we enjoyed the house, there was a perfect room for our dog to stay in while we were away. The lake access was great, the beach was perfect place to be on a warm afternoon. Stephanie, the owner was very helpful and had great recommendations for food (Lou and Ed's) and where to best access lake for kids (near Bruinwood). We had difficulty at first getting the tv to work but one call to the caretaker and the issue was resolved. We plan to return.
