Nice house, but needed some work

  • 3 of 5

Our family enjoyed our stay, but there are a few things that could use improvement. One of the major setbacks was the showering accommodations. There were two nice jetted Jacuzzi tubs, but only one very small shower located in the bathroom downstairs behind the door. After one person uses the tub and leaves soap/dirt scum, then I really don't want to use it after them. The floor in front of the downstairs bathroom was very soft/weak and probably needs to be looked at by a licensed contractor. There was mold on the wood in the downstairs bathroom above the shower. There was a lot of fake plants, knick knacks, etc that collected a lot of dust. I would suggest minimizing these items. Also, the outside grounds could have used some attention. There were (2) large planters with nothing but dirt in them at the front door, empty hanging planters on the porch, the septic tank cover was loose and at one time lifted up and was laying down the hill (bolts were missing). This house is not geared towards people with disabilities due to the steep driveway, no ramp to entrance, and showering accommodations. We really enjoyed the downstairs basement with the pool table, but the futon was not very comfortable to sit on and watch TV. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. All in all it was a good vacation.

Great vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled with several kids (we have seven, six of which came along.) The cabin was clean and spacious. It was even better than we imagined so that was a plus. The directions sent for us to get to the cabin were awesome, we used google maps on the way out and they weren't as convenient. We had a great experience and would not change a thing!

Fantastic Cabin to rent while on vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 absolutely loved staying here! I highly recommend it. It was clean, spacious, and even cuter than the pictures show. It has updated sectional couch, & coffee table which I was concerned if there was enough seating for lounging by the fireplace. It was perfect for us! The only thing I wasn't sure of, is how to operate the hot tub, but we use it just fine! I'm sure with instructions left for the next guest, it will be a place you and your family will enjoy too! We enjoyed the area, the Mountain drive is beautiful, and we enjoyed the spring weather in Tenn. Looking forward to booking it again in the future! Happy family..... means happy Mom did a good job on this vacation! :)

Long Weekend Getaway

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Haley's Hideaway. As other reviews have said, it is very secluded (high on a mountain and only one other home in the cul-de-sac (and there was no one at that house while we were there). I'm not sure how old the cabin is, but it would use some general sprucing up (trim around pole in living area, interior doors either scrubbed or wouldn't stay open, etc). Another review mentioned the towels smelling like smoke, and ours did too. We didn't contact management because of the time of day we noticed the smell, but washed the towels we were going to be using. That odor is something I would recommend the managers look into. The hot tub was in a separate screened in room on the back of the house and had to be accessed from the porch, but once you were there, it was worth it! The cabin does not have a large yard, so I don't think I would recommend it for families with young children that may want to be playing outside (unless they were okay playing on the paved area of the cul-de-sac. Overall, we were very happy with the cabin and location.
