We loved the cabin as a place to stay but it was lacking in a few areas. The first problem we had was the door (getting in). It took us about 10 tries to get the code to work because the lock was sticking. And being in the middle of nowhere our phones did not work to call anyone for help. Upon entering and turning on the lights, roaches scattered everywhere in the kitchen. We also had the same issues with the air as the last reviewers, each floor had its own temperature and the air does not reach the third floor at all, so it was very cold for those on the bottom two levels (with no extra blankets to be found) while the third floor was still quite warm. In addition to having no extra blankets anywhere, there were also no linens provided for the trundle bed. The floor on the main level has weak spots in it from previous water damage. The main level shower also leaks down into the game room. We had to place a bowl downstairs to catch the water to keep it off the floor. The satellite dish would not connect the whole weekend we were there either. Also the pictures of the front of the cabin (showing the driveway) do not show you that it is a straight down hill to get to the "flat" parking area.
The roads getting to this cabin are also extremely curvy, this is not a staying issue but should be made more apparent to those wishing to stay with you.
Overall we were only using this cabin as a crash pad and it worked well for that, but there were issues with the cabin that do need to be addressed by the owners.
CABIN: The cabin was very cute and fit our needs. Nicely decorated and truly gives the feeling of being in a home away from home. The kids enjoyed the basement roominess and entertainment it provided. We were quite surprised that we had TV's, DVD players and satellite. I do not remember this being in the description of the cabin, so we had brought our own TV and DVD player for our children. The variety of satellite channels was very surprising! The kids loved the many channels and options.
The upstairs air conditioner is not the greatest, especially since the basement and main floor were always cool. The upstairs bedroom has a wall unit (remote for it is on the wall behind the bedpost.....didn't find that until 2 nights in) that just blows air, but nothing like the main floor or basement. We would have opened the upstairs bedroom windows for nighttime breeze, but only 1 of the 3 window has screens on them.
Be mindful that the dishwasher was installed incorrectly and tips forward when loading or unloading, but this does not effect its functionality. Fridge door needs to be checked to make sure it closes properly, but is in good working order. Well stocked kitchen with utensils and any needs for cooking. Make sure you bring any condiments you want as those are not included. Coffee pot is provided but bring your own coffee or tea. There are filters in a jar on the counter. At least there were for us, but we never used any. There is a jar for tea, but no tea in the jar.
Screen windows in the hot tub porch area is ripped and needs to be fixed as many bugs were flying around while in the hot tub. Also note, hot tub handles inside the tub have been broken off and when I climbed in, I jabbed my hand on the corner of the broken plastic. Just something caused by numerous people using (or misusing) and management may not have been told.
-The bar b q was something we used quite often and loved.
-There is also a fire pit in the back yard for anyone who likes to do that sort of thing.
-There is only one shower in the cabin on the main floor which was fine for us but could be problematic if you need 2. But jacuzzi tub in upstairs bathroom and jetted tub on main floor.
We did not have wifi but I had a friend that was able to get a bar or two standing outside. I guess it all depends on your service provider.
I can't say enough good things about this cabin! I stayed here with my sister, mother in law and my kids and we had more than enough room. The road to get to the cabin wasn't too bad compared to most cabins that I have stayed in in the area. The driveway was a little steep but that wasn't an issue for us. One day we couldn't get the hot tub to come on and someone came out and fixed it immediately. We will most certainly stay here again.
The cabin was wonderful and looked just like the pictures. The only issue we had was that we paid to stay 8 days. We got a call from someone on the cabin phone on the 5th day asking us when we were leaving. We informed them on Saturday. They proceeded to tell us that we had to be out Friday. Fortunately we had all of our paperwork that said we had to be out by 10:00 am Saturday morning. This person was obviously renting it after us. My husband finally had to hang up on this individual. The female that called said that her sister had booked this for her.
This cabin is hidden away at the end of a cull-da-sac which is at the top of a winding roadway. The entire cabin is wood inside and out. It has plenty of room for the 6 person maximum capacity. There is a large game room downstairs with a pool table and foosball. There is a hot tub on the deck and a grill for burgers and steaks. Moving one of the rocking chairs to the side deck for a morning coffee creates a relaxing atmosphere.
The fire pit has been neglected and needs attention and cleaning (pit is filled to the top with dirt). There are weeds which have grown tall around the grounds and the wooden barrels and hanging planters are bare of any plants and give an impression of abandonment. The cabin has some wear and tear such as the carpet which is torn and has stain spots. Some of the pots and pans had rust in them, the picnic table and deck had grease stains which need to be cleaned. The hot tub has a leak and no instructions to operate (trial and error). I was unable to start the fireplace also no instructions and probably an empty gas tank. There were no screens on the windows which was a shame as the outside air was cooler than the inside and prevented the enjoyment of the fresh cool air. The shower curtain had mold on it and the bathroom sink and shower need a good scrub. The dusting and general cleaning have been neglected for some time and are beginning to show the lack of care for the cabin. After paying for a cleaning fee there is also an envelop provided for a tip for the cleaning service (why)?
Loved the cabin it was perfect! So spacious and my boys loved the game room. B the only thing missing was a book signed by previous guest we live when cabins have those. Gives good ideas of things around that are must dos and waste of times. Perfect distance from everything yet nice and secluded. Loved it!
