About Jane Holland / Steve Cornell

Owners are local residents who also own a Bed and Breakfast in downtown Bar Harbor

Why Jane Holland / Steve Cornell chose Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island

Located near the water and the Shorepath, you can often hear the local lobster boats fishing. We are long time Bar Harbor residents who visited the island for many years before moving here full time. Once you visit, you will know why! The house is located on a private road at the end of a dead end street. It's private, quiet, near the water, and close enough to downtown to walk to all our restaurants.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Jane and Steve,

Thank you so much for sharing the Seabreeze Cottage with us! It was

truly a blessing to be back in Bar Harbor. Staying at the Seabreeze

cottage added immensely to the enjoyment of our trip.

We love the location, the quiet street, the front porch (where we

sipped coffee and watch deer!), the nice neighbors on Hancock Street

and the proximity to the town of Bar Harbor.

It was the perfect "Base Camp" to our daily hiking treks in Acadia. We

can't thank you enough for all the amenities (the house was beautifully

stocked: coffee filters, laundry detergent, plastic containers (for packing

peanut butter/honey sandwiches for the trail), baggies, coffee

grinder, dishwashing liquid and the list goes on! We felt very welcome

and the extras in the house were such a blessing to our growing

family! **the washer/dryer was the best! so nice to come home and not have

tons of laundry to do!!

We hope to come back to Bar Harbor and will certainly book with you

all again!

Quiet and Convenient Location

  • 5 of 5

The house is located within walking distance of downtown, the shore path and harbor. I cannot say enough about the convenience of this location. We parked the car and walked to most places and is very close to Acadia National Park entrances. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.....it was just like being at home.

Great house and location

  • 5 of 5

As with every other review here, I can't say enough about the house, clean, well equipped, very nicely updated. The nearby sea walk is so easy to do, and the scenery so pretty. It's also very quiet, for being so close to the center of town. Just walk to the Main St. On a Saturday night and there is a lot of hustle and bustle, but just down the street, it's like we're out in the country. My sister and brother-in-law came down from Canada and loved it. We had a great time.

Perfect Location and coming back

  • 5 of 5

We loved our cozy rental a block from the Shore Path and 2 blocks from Main Street. We walked everywhere in town. We were only 15 min. from the top of Cadillac Mtn. to watch sunrise and only a few minutes more (to get thru town) to watch sunset. We rented the cottage for 4 weeks and enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen, and relaxing on the comfortable furniture in the living room. This property is unique as it remains cool on those warm summer days because it is tucked under some old large trees. The owners love their cottage and it shows. Cottage is very clean and well equipped. Owners are very responsive and even helped my husband find a dentist for a chipped tooth. We loved Bar Harbor and the Seabreeze Cottage so much, we have already booked for next year! Thank you, Jane & Steve, and see you next summer.

Would return and recommend to family and friends.

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time at Seabreeze, and we loved the property for its charm, quiet setting, and central location. We arrived to a very clean house, which surprisingly met my wife's crazy standards. The house had all the necessary amenities and household items, quaint Maine decor, and tranquil (but fairly small) outdoor space including a few adirondack chairs and a propane grill.

We brought our 15-month-old, and the house offered a great layout for her to explore. There wasn't much to do besides putting in outlet plugs.

The house is a short walk to the shops and restaurants of downtown Bar Harbor and is only a five minute drive to Acadia. The tree-covered private lane adds total privacy and quiet amid the crowds downtown.

We found the property owners to be attentive and responsive. We would highly recommend this cottage and plan to come back in the future.

Near everything yet still secluded

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful, relaxing time at the Seabreeze Cottage. My husband and I traveled there with another couple. There was more than enough space for us to enjoy time both together and apart. The outdoor seating area provides a perfect way to be both outdoors and cozy at home.

Though very near town, it's also secluded in a wonderful way. One evening as we returned from a walk to town, we followed a young deer down the road to the cottage.

Our only critique is that it took a while to figure out how get the dishwasher to work.

Close to Everything

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed twice at Seabreeze and just booked for 2015. We are a family of 6 adults and love the house, the close location to everything and all the necessities provided. We really love the laundry facilities which saves on packing. The house is clean and well maintained and the owners are only a phone call or email away. If you are looking for activities we highly recommend the Chrissy sloop, horse carriage rides at Wildwood stables and Thuya & Asticou Azalea gardens. We also love attending a show at ImproAcadia. And don't forget all the great hiking! Check out Side Street Cafe for great food and Cherrystones for their happy hour bar specials. Do not miss breakfast at Great Maine Breakfast...especially their stuffed French toast...we are now addicted.
