Explore pristine Florida beaches in the St. Petersburg area, home to Madeira Beach and Treasure Island. Pick from houses, condos and cottages, and get ready to enjoy sugar white sand and warm breezes. Vacations in the St. Petersburg area offer abundant outdoor recreation – on and off the water – a lively arts scene, and award-winning restaurants.

Madeira Beach, located west of St. Petersburg is home to John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, a fun attraction for all ages. John's Pass, or the Pass to locals, offers top dining and nightlife options, family-friendly attractions, shopping and water sports. While walking the 1,100-foot boardwalk, see alligators at The Alligator Attraction and dolphins playing in the Gulf's waters. Walk into dozens of unique shops that sell everything from beachwear to shells to find the perfect souvenir or gift.

Madeira Beach's restaurants welcome family and friends to try the fresh local flavor. Many top-rated restaurants at the Pass feature entertainment, specials and events as well. The Seafood Festival at John's Pass – held annually in October – hosts more than 100,000 guests to celebrate food, music, and arts and crafts.

Water lovers can parasail, rent jet skis or deep-sea fish to complete their beach vacation. John's Pass is also a popular fishing destination and brings in more grouper than any other place in Florida. Visitors can also relax while birdwatching, boating and canoeing, all within easy access of their vacation rental.

Treasure Island – adjacent to St. Petersburg – is another favorite beach town in Florida. Swim, snorkel, fish, parasail and shell at this hot spot, which was named from an early hotel owner who buried and discovered treasure chests on the beach.

Known as a secret spot for sunsets, Treasure Island's 3 miles of beaches serve as the perfect place to watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico with someone special. Treasure Island also offers guests fun-filled attractions and things to do, paired with restaurants serving everything from breakfast to fresh seafood dinners.

Other popular attractions in the St. Petersburg area include the award-winning Salvador Dali Museum and Fort De Soto Park, the largest park within the Pinellas County Park System, measuring more than 1,100 acres.

First Official family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Pulling up to the condo at 11pm it looked a little beat up. Not because of the building itself but the sign had some lights out and it was dark.

My hubby and I were nervous like aww crap what did we get ourselves into.

We got our keys (easily accessible in a designated after hours area) headed up, again I was nervous because I thought it was ground level and then it wasn't.

We get up to the condo and EVERYTHING was BEAUTIFUL! fully furnished, clean, gorgeous view! gorgeous view! In the morning i saw NONE OF THE UNITS ARE GROUND LEVEL. Which for the 6 days we were there I realized is a much better option because everyone had ocean fromt views!

There was a pool on property, beach, shopping within walking distance, oh and grills!!!!! It was absolutely the most perfect experience!

And because it was a condo and not a hotel room, our friends and family were able to come over and visit.

We will definitely be staying there again!

Do not rent this property

  • 5 of 5

We rent property pretty much on every vacation we take. This was the worst property I have ever stayed in. The condo was not clean, old, everything inside needs to be replaced or gutted. It has a million dollar view out the patio doors (the side windows needs the nasty messed up screen removed so you can actually see out of them) but the unit is horrible.

Owner's Response: We do like feedback, but this seems to be a little too general to try to help. The condo is freshly painted, the furniture is less than 2 years old, and the kitchen and bathrooms are updated and modern. We'll make sure the screen is taken care of, and do apologize if that was any inconvenience. Thanks!

Fantastic location. Nice condo, could use some updating. Resort is perfect. We were supposed to fly out Saturday morning....our flight got delayed...called iTrip and they allowed us to stay until 3pm. Would definitely rent from them again.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

The two-bedroom condo was roomy enough for five adults and a child...even though one adult had to use the couch...Lol

The walk to the beach was pretty much what I thought it would be from the pictures.

Condo was quiet, except for a few chairs moving around above.

Pool was never crowded. There were always pool toys at the pool so we didn't have to drag ours down to the pool.

I did not see a hot tub, which I do believe was advertised. Looks like it may have been there at one point, but is no longer there. The mural that I seen in pictures at the pool was also not there. But it did look like the outside of the condo had been repainted, which looked really nice! The purple and yellow was always EASY to find!!

Don't forget to purchase laundry soap as there was no laundry soap for even one load... (not a criticism...because I'm not sure if there was supposed to be or not).

We stopped at Walmart on the way to the condo to pick up some things we thought we might need (ex. food, condiments, water, soda, etc.)

The kitchen was stocked with enough cups, plates, pots and pans for what we needed. We made breakfast every day and ate out for dinner every night. Wanted to use the grill to grill out but did not get around to it.

Loved the ping pong table!

Closet was filled with pool toys, beach toys, beach chair and umbrella (even though we chose to use the cabanas).

Nice quiet area of the beach, not real crowded. Always found a place without feeling crowded.

Had a wonderful family vacation!
