Perfect getaway up north
My family and I have returned to Tanya's beautiful Northport home many years in a row. It's lovely, immaculate and spectacularly situated on Grand Traverse Bay. Tanya is a generous and responsive host and her home has everything you need for a relaxing week - kayaks, bikes, ping pong. Downtown Northport (and Barb's Bakery!) is just a short drive away. We can't wait to come back!
Thank you Beth! We are honored to provide your family with a place for relaxation and re-connection. We look forward to having you stay again.
Great family getaway
We visited in late August. There were 6 of us - my husband, myself, my husband's sister, and three teenagers (ages 15, 18, and 19). The house is beautiful, right on a very private beach, and has all kinds of equipment: kayaks, bikes, ping-pong, board games, DVDs, and a campfire pit. The kitchen is very well equipped and we really enjoyed preparing meals and sitting down together to share them. The back yard, which is right on the water, has resident squirrels and a very cute chipmunk, and lots of chairs to relax in and watch. Northport is about 10 minutes away and has a good grocery store, marina, and bakery, as well as some restaurants. Leland and Sutton's Bay are each about 25 minutes away and have all kinds of shops. Sleeping Bear Dunes park, which is incredibly scenic, is about an hour away. There was truly something for everyone to do and we enjoyed every minute. Tanya is wonderful to work with.
Beautiful house, wonderful location!
This is a beautiful, well-maintained home. Everything is immaculate and most of it looks like new. There is an amazing view of the lake from the great room, and also from the master bedroom, kitchen and den.
I've never stayed in a rental that was so well-equipped! There were 3 kayaks for us to use, plus a small boat, 7 bicycles, bike helmets, life preservers, ping pong table, beach chairs and more. The kitchen has everything you could ask for.
Everyone in our group, including 4 adults and 2 children (ages 6 and 8) had a great time. We kayaked right off the beach in front of the house.
There are some nice attractions nearby including sand dunes, light houses, and several great restaurants in the town of Northport, 6 miles away.
Beautiful home with an awesome view.
The listing description was accurate from the pictures on the site to the paper products and kitchen essentials to the bikes, kayaks and tennis racquets provided. The home was in excellent condition when we checked in and the outside is landscaped very nice. Tanya was very prompt answering all the questions that we had. We would definitely recommend this property. We did day trips to Sleeping Bear dunes, Leland and other small towns near by. There is a lot to see around there.
