The property itself was average but the location made it GOOD! It is literally walking distance to everything! Even though the house is in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Newport Beach, it is quiet at night. The top deck is awesome! We loved having that space for meals and hanging out. It is very nice to have two private balconies as well. We also loved the washer and dryer. So nice to have.
The property itself needs a few upgrades. The mattress in the 2nd bedroom was hideous. We had to replace it with an air mattress. It was practically unusable. The futon in the first room had wires sticking out of it, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. Luckily, we had air mattresses with us, so we slept on those. There was a massive plumbing issue in the unit below us. Big enough that the renters had to move locations. We were disappointed we were not made aware of the issue. Black mold, green moldy water seeping out, and a bad odor for us in the sink and when we ran the water. Full Disclosure is always comforting. When we returned the key and made the employee aware of our concerns with the plumbing issues and the mattresses we were treated very rudely and essentially told to lower our expectations since it's a rental. We would rent on 24th street again in a heartbeat. If they upgrade the mattresses, we will rent the same unit again.
