Spacious and newly remodeled upper unit just steps away from the sand featuring a large balcony ideal for a summer BBQ. The unit comes with parking, shared laundry, ceiling fans and a dishwasher.
Parking: 1 car parking - This unit provides 1 carport space in a shared carport.
Bedding: Blankets, mattress pads, bed spreads and pillows are provided!
Linens: Our properties do not come with bed linens or towels however should you not want to bring your own personal linens, we do provide the option to use our linen rental service. The cost is $190 for the length of your stay and includes a set of sheets for each bed, 12 bath towels, 10 hand towels, 10 wash cloths, and 6 beach towels. Please inform us as to whether or not you would like to use this service.
Kitchen/Supplies: Our kitchens are supplied with all the basic dishes, utensils and cookware needed for everyday cooking. We also stock some cleaning supplies and dry goods such as paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters, trash bags, foil, etc to help you begin your vacation however you will need to purchase and pay for additional supplies during your stay.
You may want to bring: Beach chairs/equipment, blender and/or specialty cookware, briquettes, laundry detergent, extra place settings, pens and paper, etc.
We've been coming here for many years. It has recently been remodeled and is beautiful inside and out. The property is well-maintained, well-stocked, nicely furnished, and clean. Owners and property managers are friendly and responsive. Some years we've needed to relax and rest, other years we've been more active and on-the-go. It's an excellent location for both types of vacations. Third house from the beach, with a view of the ocean from the balcony. Easy walk to grocery store, restaurants, Newport Pier. Bring bikes or rent and explore Balboa Peninsula, Balboa Pier, Fun Zone, Balboa Island, the Wedge, Huntington Beach. Rent a kayak, paddleboard, or party boat and explore Newport Harbor. 25 minute drive to Disneyland. So much to do...or just read, relax, swim, and re-charge.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to stay at both the upper and lower floors of this beach property almost every summer for the past several years (10+ years). It is great for a whole family getaway (and I have a BIG family) to Newport beach. It is also great as a base for a bunch of guys to go fishing at the pier or just hanging out at the beach.
The upper unit has a balcony which is the perfect place to enjoy the breeze while relaxing after a day in the sun and sand. It provides a beautiful view of the ocean while giving more privacy than. It is also a great spot for a poker game with the guys. And if you have wet things from the beach, you can easily hang them to dry on the balcony when you come back for dinner and you will be ready to hit the waves again the next morning. It also provides a great lookout to easily grab additional street parking for friends or family who arrive later.
The location also offers close access to the Newport Pier and shops surrounding the pier just a short walk away, and quick access to walking or cycling paths where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the ocean while walking/riding. The location also has the benefit of avoiding the heavy traffic right around the Newport Pier itself.
If you like fishing, this unit makes the perfect base to stow your gear and be ready to hit the pier at daybreak. My friends and I have spent days just relaxing on the pier while fishing, then ended the day grilling some very delicious freshly caught mackerel.
The beds themselves are comfortable and the bedrooms are pretty quiet. Since the surrounding units tend to be rental properties too, you occasionally have groups of teens or young adults partying into the night, however, we've never had any problems with noise and from bedrooms are set towards the back of the property where you do not hear any noise from the front of the street.
Owner takes good care of the unit and just recently renovated/remodelled everything. It is always very clean when we arrive (just be careful to wash off beach sand BEFORE entering the house). Also, the listing says one carport space, but it actually is more like one carport space PLUS one off-street parking spot since you can park a (small) car behind and perpendicular to the car in the carport.
I've stayed here several times over the years, in both the top and bottom units, although it has been a while since I've been back. The location is very nice, extremely close to the beach, and situated nearby many restaurants and stores. There are good jogging and bike lanes as well. The area is clean and quite family friendly.
The unit itself was quite spacious, easily accommodating my large family with plenty of room to spare. I could see this as a great budget location for a group of responsible college kids on summer vacation. There is a nice front patio area great for grilling or simply relaxing with a cool drink and people watching. The owners have renovated and improved on the facilities significantly since the last time I stayed, but I've heard from family that it is even better than before!
