The property is located at a convenient location, closed enough to the Lake, groceries stores, while being far enough from the city noise. This is one of a few big houses in the neighborhood, so don't expect that the whole neighborhood would look as nice.
The house is roomy, with a huge master bedroom and 3 much smaller rooms - the master is about 3 times bigger than other rooms in the house. If you are a young couple, the master is the dream place. If you have kids staying with you in the same room, that will not very convenient because the bathroom is kinda wide open to the bed area, so you can't take bath without asking all the kids to leave and lock the bedroom entrance door. There is also no pool table as being advertised, though. The backyard is huge and nice. Overall, we like the house.
However, we have been very surprised about the way the management company handled our stay. Initial email got responded promptly and we went ahead to book the property for our stay. As soon as the booking got processed and the credit card is charged, we stopped getting response regardless how many emails we sent asking about how we could check in if we arrive late (they required to check in to pickup the key at their office which is about 5 miles from the property. I had to call to speak to different representatives and restarted the email threads twice for the paperworks and to get confirmed that they would set up a lock-box outside their office for us to pick up the key if we arrive late. Regardless, the first family of our parties arrived 1 hour before they close, to find out that the office had already been closed, lock box didn't work. Then then had to send someone to the office to give the key to us.
Things didn't stop at that point. They requested that someone had to come to their office on the next day to sign the rental contract - although I had done all the paperworks they sent via email and got their confirmation that everything was set. We had to make another trip to their office the day after to drop the key. They don't allow to leave keys in the property though.
We didn't let these things ruin our vacation and still enjoyed our stay, but being the organizer of the trip I would avoid dealing with Tahoe Key Resort, Inc for the future. I've been renting cabins/houses in Lake Tahoe area few times a year in the past 7 years and really surprised that they could still do business in such the way.
