All those who have traveled the roadways of the driftless quad state area know the beauty that unveils before their eyes. This vacation home is such a prime example of this area.
Our stay @ the Lake Pepin bluff top could not have been more enjoyable. The home is beautiful , spacious and so accommodating. The kitchen is well supplied so we were able to prepare half of our meals there. One of the biggest pluses was the high quality washer and dryer. With a week long stay, this became very important. The view from the house over Lake Pepin and Lake City leaves you awe struck and mesmerized.
The house needs a few finishing touches, but once settled in you will find this unimportant. We had one problem during our stay ( no hot water in the master bath ) but a phone call to Joe had this remedied in minutes.
We highly recommend this vacation home to those seeking beauty, comfort, and seclusion.
The Larson party of four.
Set high up on a hill overlooking the Mississippi river, it offers spectacular views of Lake City harbor and the river from the back deck. Inside is comfortable and spacious with a big kitchen. It also has a garage to keep your car out of the elements. Unfortunately the inside is partially unfinished with some trim missing and some drywall exposed. I expect that is soon to be remedied and all will be well. Overall a good experience and would rent again.
The view was great of Lake Peplin. The bed and furniture were comfortable. The water smelled really bad for the first two day we were there, by the last day that had cleared up. The landscaping around the place was very uninviting, it was really tall weeds. The second bathroom was still under construction, but not a huge problem. Our LP tank was empty when we tried to grill, but Joe went to town right away and got another one for us. Also wish there would of been a fire pit to sit around. We live in the country and love sitting around the fire. Over all very comfortable just needs some TLC to the landscaping and making sure the water does not smell, which being from the country I have lived with it but not sure city people would be use to it.
It was our 5 year anniversary and as a surprise he booked us a 5 days away, to somewhere I had not known till I showed up to this beautiful place. The house is wonderful, honestly the kitchen was huge and we made a every breakfasts together :) Theres a view in every room that is truly exsquisite. Our favorite veiw is the one you can see from the kitchen, the living room and dinning room. The veiw is better than the pictures, truly.
The owners have left us a bottle of wine to celebrate! They are so kind and left us a number to call if we have any questions or concerns! We even went on a hike and the people we passed were just so kind I was at a loss for words.
Looking at Pepin Lake, surrounded by forest and bluffs, every morning when you look out is calming. It was absolute paradise.
My wife and I recently stayed at this secluded home overlooking Lake Pepin. The place was very clean and well stocked. It has some unfinished areas due to a remodel, but did not interfere with our enjoyment of the home whatsoever. Our favorite aspects include the quiet seclusion, gas fireplace and of course one can never tire of the amazing view of Lake pepin and lake city from high atop the river bluff.
Joe was very responsive to all of our questions.
We hope to rent here again!
My wife and I stayed at Joe's Bluff top home for three days this July, it was perfect! its not very often when you go on a vacation and the place you've booked to stay at becomes the highlight of the trip... this was one of those occasions. My family and I have been coming down to the lake Pepin area for 20+ years, usually in the fall, and we have stayed in many places over those years... the search is over now though, this is far and away the best! secluded and quiet, large beautiful kitchen, comfortable beds, big bathroom, a very relaxing living room with "the view" as soon as we walked in we saw the view that looked out over the lake and the bluffs and we were absolutely stunned! it was also a great vantage point to watch the huge storm that rolled in over the weekend, although my wife was not quite as enthused about that as I was, can't wait to enjoy that view in the Autumn with the fall colors blazing. Joe was a very good host too, was quick to answer any questions we had, even offered to take us sailing on his boat, at one point there was apparently an issue with the air conditioning, which was essential as the temps were in the 90's, before we had even noticed anything was wrong he contacted me and informed us that he and a AC repairman would like to stop by and fix it if the timing was good for us, talk about attentive! anyway, my wife and I were very happy and would highly recommend Joe's bluff house, we will most definitely be back... soon and often! Thank you Joe!
