Having a reunion, wedding or want to get away with a group of friends? Ours is the perfect house for you, your family and friends.
Our house offers two separate dwellings, so large families and groups would be more than comfortable using the main house and its apartment.
Enjoy kayaking (we have two on site) or bring your own power or sailboat. If hiking is your thing, we are located in the Adirondack Park. Or stay at home and enjoy the amenities and comfort of our lakeside house.
The ferry to Vermont's Champlain Islands is only fifteen minutes away. A public boat launch is just five minutes down the road. Lake Placid, Burlington and Montreal are about one hour away.
The main house has 2 bedrooms and a bath. There are two fireplaces (one gas, one wood) and a beautiful lake view from the great room in the front.
The apartment is attached, through 2 doors, with a separate kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bath. It also has a lovely little stone porch and a 2nd floor loft room, both with lake views.
A futon, daybed and pull out sofa round out the sleeping accomodations. Groups up to twelve can stay and sleep comfortably.
There is a spacious patio area with a large BBQ grill, 2 kayaks, and a fire pit by the lake to enjoy during your stay.
If your coming to the Plattsburgh area to work, you may be interested in our two floor apartment that is attached to the main house. The apartment is set up perfectly for a business person who requires a short-term rental while working in the area or is relocating to the area and needs a place to stay while looking for a permanent home.
We offer both summer weekly rates and long term rates for people in need of a place to stay while moving into the area or on business.

Eight of us came from NH for a bicycling vacation. The owners were fabulous, very responsive. The home was well equipped and nicely maintained and located just south of the town of Plattsburg. Beautiful beach with great views of the mountains in VT. The Valcour Brewery was a great afternoon out for some brews! Livingoods Brewery in Peru is a great night out--great food. Bicycling in the area is wonderful--including a 3 ferry tour of NY to VT to Burlington to NY! The Ausable Chasm is just 5 miles south! Early morning paddle to Valcour Island is a must! Thank you to our hosts for a perfect vacation!
We had a great time here in North Country. We were here for a family reunion 103 people from all over the US attended). This house was perfect for us! Eleven people stayed here. We made good use of the front room, playing cards and games at night. We built a couple of fires by the lake and used the kayaks a few of times. We went on the Port Kent ferry to Burlington and visited AuSable Chasm. The house is clean and had plenty of room for our stuff.
The house is charming, the views are wonderful, the lake is delightful. Being a group of eight, we comfortably slept in the four bedrooms. Also there are several sofas in several common rooms (dining, living, playroom, etc.) The owner was available on-line helping with the speedy answers for our questions. Also the manual in the house and the sticky notes on the walls guided us in proper directions (lights, fans, stairs, etc.). There are a lot of stairs and thresholds in the house, we were careful to observe all.
The kitchen is well equipped, the grill is adequate, and we enjoyed the fire pit at the private beach. The town beach is not worth to waste your time, we enjoyed kayaking and swimming from our private beach. Two kayaks were provided by the owner, and our teenagers and their parents took turns kayaking.
Our family liked dining at Iris, the Chinese restaurants in Plattsburgh are not good, but the Himalayan restaurant was interesting.
Be sure to take a trip to Canada. Our drive to Montreal took 1 hr +, including the border control. (Need your passports, as driving licenses are not sufficient.) We loved Montreal; Burlington, VT is closer but much smaller and less interesting. In addition to the sightseeing (we took 3 hrs bus tour), Montreal shopping is advantageous. Lake Placid is another attraction in the area, being a site of two Winter Olympics
Overall, it was a nice vacation and a family reunion for the three generations of the family.
This place is great! The upstairs loft overlooking the lake and hidden front porch made the spring and fall very enjoyable.. My stay was exceptional here at this quiet, convenient location on beautiful Lake Champlain.. The owners were fantastic too.. :)
We recently rented this cottage with two other families for a week of fun in the sun...and that is what we got! This house felt spacious and was very comfortable even with 12 people sleeping in it! We were very pleased with how clean it was and it was nicely stocked with dishes and anything we needed to cook meals (including a second kitchen and grill - very handy!). From the moment you get up in the morning until the time the sun sets the views from the adirondack chairs on the front porch are breathtaking! It was hard to pull ourselves away to do the many things that are available nearby such as Ausable Chasm, a ferry ride to Burlington, VT, a trip up White Face Mountain, and even blueberry picking! The owners were very helpful to us as we set up our reservation and felt the listing accurately reflected what we saw when we arrived! We would highly recommend this property to family and friends and hope to return ourselves in the future.
Lots of room to spread out and relax. Views of the lake were wonderful. Spent lots of time walking along the water and using the kayaks. For those with large groups i would definitely recommend renting the apartment along with the rest of the house.
A ferry ride to Lake Champlain Islands with a short drive to Burlington, hiking in the Adirondacks (45 min drive),
