LOCATION:

DuPont Circle is a vibrant neighborhood and great location from which to experience Washington, DC. You are just 2 blocks from the Red Line Metro stop, and can walk to historic Georgetown, George Washington University, The World Bank, and IMF, Embassy Row, think tanks, and museums, among others points of interest. The neighborhood is filled with wonderful restaurants, shops, cafes and grassy parks. On Sundays, the DuPont Circle Farmers Market is one of the largest in the city.

If you do want to drive (whether for an hour's grocery store run, or a trip outside the city to Monticello or Gettysburg), consider registering online for Car2Go or Zipcar--flexible alternatives to traditional rental cars.

Biking? Capital Bikeshare makes bike rental a breeze.

REVIEW:

Stephanie – “It was fantastic to have this "home" for a week while we were in the capital on vacation. Easy walk to restaurants, Trader Joe's (!) and the Red Line Metro at DuPont Circle. We easily picked up a cab on 22nd when we needed one. The condo was clean and very easy to get to. It is located on quiet street and since it is in the middle of the embassy district, it's probably in one of the safest and most interesting neighborhoods in DC! Having the washer/dryer right outside the door was handy and we did do a load of our clothes. It's always nice to be able to pack light and wash out the miles of walking we did every day through museums and monuments. We really enjoyed this apartment much better than a hotel since there weren't people up and down the hall at all hours and knowing that no one would be coming into our room every day when we weren't there.”--March 2013

About Charlotte Perry

My business is LUXbnb, we offer short-stay properties in wonderful neighborhoods in Northwest Washington including those areas in high demand by visitors, i.e. DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Palisades and Capitol Hill. You can view some of our other studios and homes for stays from 4 nights up to 8 months; see HomeAway # 914007, 3495967, 3495973, 3495995, 3495973, 3496279, 3496282, 3496283 and 3496278 for details. Let us know your travel plans and we will find the best fit for your needs. Be generous and share the knowledge of LUXbnb, your source for short-stay rentals in Washington, with your friends, family and colleagues.

Our latest addition are vacation properties for Washingtonians. Take a few days away from the bustle of the city to explore our bucolic countryside little changed over the past 2 to 3 centuries. Visit wineries and orchards, significant Civil War battlefields and historic towns, hike the Apalachian Trail or follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers by visiting their homes. There is plenty to do that beckons you to leave the city for a weekend or a week.

A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 12 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the 'must-see' sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation.

We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit.

Reviewer Comments:

We were really disturbed by the fact that there was no door between the bedroom and the living room. It was not a separated bedroom but combination of bed- and living room. How about one person likes watching tv, the other one wants to sleep? Early check out was ok, but it was really uncomfortable to walk all the way to the Hilton with the luggage. A hotel or another place in the neighbourhood would have been easier for the guests. For us the aeroplanes were too noisy in that place.

Reviewer Comments:

Very nice small apartment with a full sized bed. It's small, but cozy. Make sure to bring your own towels. It's also a bit of a walk from the metro but it's past some very lovely historical homes. SO make sure you have your walking shoes and you are able body. This is not a handicap accessible apartment.

Reviewer Comments:

Great location. We received a great deal of information to make our stay in Washington easier. It would have been alittle gesture to provide coffee for the coffee machine. The bed was unbelievably bad. The mattress needs replacing! To be asked to wash the towels before we left was a bit rude.
